What’s Swatch Saturday? I can’t always review products with full, in-depth reviews, but sometimes, I can at least give you photos and swatches, and then also provide a link to dupes and comparisons for those interested! This also helps us to build up our Swatch Gallery and add even more entries to The Dupe List, which can be helpful to readers at any point.

Eggplant purple for BISQUE???? Some sort of error happened there! I have had Shroom for years but found it so disappointing. Stila Starlight (which looks nothing like Shroom in the pan) is what I now use in its place – it is very similar in colour to Shroom but so much better in terms of application, pigmentation on the eye….
Fixed – sorry I’m such a dummy!
I haven’t paid attention to beiges much before.. thinking they’d be too pale for me! Ricepaper is actually my first and much loved! I think malt, and orb call for a swatch session atleast! 🙂
I love Ricepaper, too! Well, that’s probably obvious 😉
Malt as an allover base or in the crease always works for me. A really lovely neutral shadow.
I don’t know that I’ve tried it as an allover base – do you apply it first and then lay down other shades over it?
Yes 🙂 I can wear all over my eye because of my eye shape and eyebrow position. Most of the time I do not need to wear a highlight shade or even a crease shade and in fact, think I look better without it. It’s a hooded, semi-hooded eye thang. Too obvious a highlight on a neutral eye look tends to make the hooded part of my eye really stand out and it isn’t attractive IMO. This or a similar shade, MAC Kid, I use as a base and then I rim my eye with Haux or even Copperplate on top and smoke it out from the lashline and then add either a bit of liner or push brush a really dark shadow just into the top lashline. It gives a bit of a smoky eye effect, but so much softer because it is done with midtone and lighter shadows…very kind to aging eyes. Sometimes I will even wear Copperplate all over as a wash as well (usually in fall/winter) and it’s so simple and yet really gorgeous.
That sounds SO pretty, Wendy! Copperplate is a fantastic shade.
Love these types of reviews. More, please! I have most of those shades. Also, would love you to do one for Inglot shadows.
Hi Liz,
I already did posts like these for all the Inglot eyeshadows I’ve reviewed, actually!
I can honestly say I didn’t know Bisque was D/C! 🙁
So sad 🙁
I’m a brown child so I use beige e/s Orb, Bamboo and Malt as my everyday brow bone colors for work. I’m probably in the minority, but I prefer matte/satin not frosty/shimmery e/s in my brow bone. My favorite beige is Urban Decay’s naked eyeshadow which I absolutely love.
I like satin! 🙂 I don’t mind more shimmery, but in general, I prefer a satin myself!
Orb looks so pretty and glowy!
It’s nicer than I remembered, lol!
Love shroom and brule! Such great colours to use as a base with any look.
Agreed!
What happened to your poor Shroom? That’s my favorite highlighter of all time, I must go through a pan a year as it works perfectly with my super fair skin tone (tho’ as I’m getting older and more crepey, I may need to find something with a little less shimmer).
Burberry Trench is my go-to, but Shroom used to be one!
I have such a huge pan on Shroom.
It’s a great shade!
Oooh. I rather like Malt, though it might be possible to get that colour with some mixing of the UD 3 palette.
I think you might be able to mix!
Grain and Melt are my fav beige tone eyeshadows. I used to have Orb but aready give it away to my sister cause I found this color is hard to used for me when I apply it on I don’t know why it look almost white peach :'( Dose it make sense LOL
I can totally see what you mean! Orb is a weird color – it’s white, but it’s warm, but then it’s almost pink sometimes, lol!
Nice colors!
Do you have any of MAC’s beiges?
I saw the first one too, was unae to post, but please let me state how excited I got! Yes, you know I love my coppers, purples, well a lot, but these.. I call these my “whites” and they are all my BREAD AND BUTTER! The number of ways White can look, depth, tone, reflex, texture, etc. .. I’m mesmerized and have to but every “white” color I see! They fascinate me.. Just so beautiful! Christine, you did the 1&2 “Beige” list SUPER FAB! Thank you for showcasing the most overlooked colors! <3 xo
What’s your must-have beige from MAC?
All of them! Lol! I call them my “whites,” and I hardcore collect these colors! 😀 Vapour, Vex, Dazzlight, Brule, Blanc ype, Filament, Nylon and Mylar lean towards MAC favorites, though.. Oh, and crystal avalanche! YES! 🙂
