Becca Guava Beach Tint Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca Guava Beach Tint
Becca Guava Beach Tint ($25.00 for 0.24 oz.) is described as a “bright coral pink.” It’s a muted, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a natural finish on cheeks, near-matte finish on lips. Urban Decay Streak Blush (P) is a powder. MAC Sea Me, Hear Me (LE, $25.00) is more shimmery, warmer, powder. MAC Hi Jinks! (LE, $20.00) is pinker. NYX Apricot (P, $5.00) is a powder. Tom Ford Beauty Unabashed Blush (LE, $55.00) is more shimmery, lighter, powder. Milani Coral Cove (05) (LE, $7.99) is more matte, brighter, powder. Make Up For Ever #410 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is slightly warmer. Clinique Ginger Pop (01) (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, powder. Chanel Intonation (69) (LE, $38.00) is brighter. Illamasqua Sleek (P, $26.00) is brighter, warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Becca’s Beach Tint formula has been around for awhile, but when the Souffles came out, I thought now might be a nice time to check out one of the individual components behind the Souffles. It’s supposed to be a stain for lips and cheeks that gives a “natural wash of color.” It’s described as “water-resistant,” “oil-free,” and “streak-free.” The consistency is thin, almost watery, and the formula separates within the tube, so that can be annoying. If you turn it upside down and leave it that way for a bit, it usually helps to mix the product. It also has a sweet, tropical fruit scent–the scent is a bit over-the-top and reads a little syrupy, but once it really dries down, I don’t notice it whether it’s on cheeks or lips.
Unsurprisingly, it’s a formula that performs better as a cheek stain than as a lip stain. It’s clingy and looks drier on the lips, so the lips look worse-off than they would bare, and it has a tackiness to it despite being very thin–press your lips together, and they slowly peel away from each other. It was slightly drying, though it wasn’t as drying as I anticipated, given the way it felt on It was fairly blendable on cheeks, and it has more buildable color, too, so if you have a medium or darker complexion, you can still get visible color on your skin that still has that stained finish. It takes about two minutes for it to dry down, and there’s a very, very slight tackiness to it after that. On lips, it has a mostly matte finish, but on cheeks, there’s a slightly more luminous sheen. It leaves sheer color, just as promised, on cheeks and lips, which lasts seven hours on my cheeks, four hours on my lips.

Wow, I LOVE the way it looks on both lips and cheeks… it actually makes me think of something you WOULD wear to the beach, as it’s so nice and subtle.
It had a very beach-y vibe for sure!
I recently ordered the LE set from Sephora with the beach tints and eye tints. I’m excited to get them, I’ve been really going for the lighter wash of color, bronzed, and glowy looks and I hope these beach tints will work nicely for that look.
Fingers crossed! I bought that kit, too, but I haven’t opened it yet.
You look totally gorg in photos.. Love how natural this appears and how you have worked the product with two different makeup and wardrobe looks. Not entirely pleased with it as a lip product, but not necessarily a deal breaker. Yes, liking this very much overall with its effortless beauty kinda feel.
Yeah, I think if you go in just wanting a cheek product, worth taking a look at and you’ll be all right. If you really want a multi-tasker, then it’s not the right product!
Thank you!
It looks very soft, I quite like it!
Perfect for anyone who wants sheer color!
Pretty colour on the cheeks!
It is a nice tint!
I’ve never used the beach tints for anything other than blush. I figured they would be too drying on the lips. I top mine with powder blush for a more opaque look sometimes.
I hear ya! Definitely best as a cheek product. Your feeling was right on!
It doesn’t really show up on you.. Can see why the rating is low.. on the lips it makes them unnaturally dry..
So not a fan of it on the lips!
What if you put some lip balm over it? That’s usually what I do.
Hi Lisa,
I don’t test products that way, since I test them alone – you can always improve a drying lip product by applying lip balm 🙂 Just like I test long-wearing products on their own, not with primers and the like!
So glad you did these! Love that second eye look!!! The YSL. Beautiful!
Thank you, Megan!
That second eye look is so dang pretty.
Thank you! 🙂 Sorry it took so long to reply!
It looks beautiful on the cheeks!
Glad ya liked it, Fancie!
I just started collecting these….papaya was my gateway…and I must say they are pretty awesome. They sit well on bare skin and even on top of my foundation without disrupting anything. Its a worthy buy. The lips….I just apply a smidge of clear gloss on top to cancel out that super matte look.
Which is your favorite shade, Shelley?
I really love watermelon!!
Thanks for the rec, Shelley!
Love the look of these becca tints, really need to actually try one!
Let me know if you end up trying one!
Such an unnecessary product, haha.
To each their own 🙂
ooh, yeah, it contains alcohol denat.
It sure does!
Did you find that it actually held good in water?
Hi Celine,
I didn’t go swimming with it on, but it was resistant to water – it won’t streak or fade if you splash with water.
I am so bummed to see this only get a B rating, this is one of my HG products for sure! I love how easily they blend on the skin, they don’t shift your foundation below, and last all day. You can get a sheer wash on the cheeks or build them up for stronger color. They smell amazing too which is a bonus for me. I agree that they aren’t the best on lips, but for cheeks, these are a go-to for me in summer.
Sorry! If Becca hadn’t marketed these as a dual cheek and lip product, the rating would have been better, but unfortunately, its poorer performance as a lip product impacted the overall rating.
Just have to say that your eye look in these pics is the most flattering thing I’ve seen on you! Your eye color is absolutely glowing! 😉
After looking more closely it looks like the bottom pic has a slightly different eye look than the first one shown (coppery-more green, vs. black liner and more pink). Is the bottom look also created with the Nude Beach palette?
Everything is listed at the end of the post! 🙂
