Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless (220) Shameless Bold Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless (220) Shameless Bold Blush
Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless (220) Shameless Bold Blush ($30.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft peach.” It’s a light-medium peachy coral with a satin finish and warm, reddish undertones. Make Up For Ever #225 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is a cream product. Hourglass Dim Infusion (P, $35.00) is a touch lighter, less shimmery. Tarte Darling (LE, $26.00) is darker, brighter. MAC Melba (P, $21.00) is darker. Chanel Espiegle (P, $43.00) is slightly warmer. Bobbi Brown Nude Peach (P, $26.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The Shameless Bold Blush formula is described as a “vivid, silky blush … that delivers bold color and unprecedented vibrancy.” I’m not keen on the texture of the formula–the texture is stiff and yields little color. You really have to work your brush into the surface of the blush to get decent color out of it. If you can manage to get enough color on the skin, the resulting finish is delicate, lightly luminous, and gives skin a glow without emphasizing pores–but it’s a real struggle to get there. For a blush that describes itself as “silky” with “bold color and unprecedented vibrancy,” I can think of a dozen formulas that are far more vibrant and pigmented than this one. The color lasted for seven hours on me before starting to fade.

A shame about the grade. It’s really pretty swatched.
I love a lot of MJB’s products and was really pleasantly surprised about the brand in general, but the blushes, ugh!
Love the packaging but thats about it! 😀
It’s never good when that’s the best!
Christine you are so feminine!! I am loving the look and color of the blush is very pretty..these kinds of colors complement nicely against my complexion…I am happy that there are good/quality dupes available…
sometimes I also want to take a break from pinks and coral lips, so me too have a good range of browner lippies… 🙂
I like the color, too – sad it didn’t perform better!
That’s a shame. It’s such a gorgeous color. For $30, I feel like I can get something better. I’m thinking Hourglass Dim Infusion is going to be mine this year.
You most definitely can get something better! 😀
This shade is absolutely gorgeous! Will be next on my purchase list!
Enjoy!
Not a huge fan of the brand to begin with. I was curious about these. Now it’s a total pass….
I like the brand a lot more than I thought I would, but I do not like the blushes!
I like the brand a lot less than I thought I would. Too bad…
That’s a lovely shade, that I don’t have in my collection. I think I’ll get melba instead!
Good idea 🙂
Forget the blush.. you look divine in that picture Christine! Flawless!
Thanks so much, Divya! <3
Wow, you look really pretty! You look wonderful. 🙂
This blush reminds me of the tan/peachy colour in Sleek’s blush by three Brown Sugar. Similar colour and VERY similar payoff. Funny how the cost difference is so great when both perform badly, haha.
So much more disappointing at this price point though (but Sleek’s blush should still perform well, especially since we know they can!).
The other two shades perform very well. The tan one is matte, maybe that’s why? My MAC 116’s slight scratchiness does manage to pick up colour though, so it’s not too bad. I build it up.
D? I wasn’t expecting that. But I trust you. What a shame (no pun intended) 🙁
Haha!
The colour is very pretty, too bad it is sub-par in quality… This is exactly the type of light blush colour I like.
I think this could have been a real hit if the texture was better!
Such a pretty colour, and the packaging is so chic! This shade looks gorgeous on you!
Thanks, Jess!
Stiff texture & poor color payoff 🙁
Sad times!
When I swatched this in Sephora I thought it was just a busted tester. I had trouble getting any color payoff too. It’s a shame since the color is so pretty
I can’t even imagine the state of these after getting swatched a bunch, lol!
ooh that lipliner is beautiful! Hope there will be review on it 🙂
Hopefully!
Shame about the application! It’s utterly beautiful- especially on you, Christine!
Thank you!
Yowzers! A D – rating?! I’d have expected more from them at that price. How disappointing ! Thanks for the heads up..
This formula has been really disappointing!
Looks great on you–very natural.
Thanks, Pamela!
It looks so nice on you! Too bad about the performance 🙁
I know 🙁
Beautiful color in the pan, but application was horrible. It barely showed on my face. Unfortunately I had to return it.
Sorry to hear you had a similar experience, LJ!
Your look is so nice in the picture! I have to agree with you about the blush, I got the purple one. It doesn’t yield a lot of colour. For the price and the amount, it’s a bit disappointing. I do like the colour though.
What a bummer 🙁
Looked really promising and totally loving the colour. But too much work for something that costs $$$
I agree!
Change the name to shameful ;0. I’m really glad I resisted this blush formula until reviewed. None of them have looked particularly appealing to me. It actually puts me in mind of the new GA blush formula which I also do not care for; stiff and on the sheer side…but fine powdery..so difficult to work with.
Hahaha! 😉
I loved the packaging but wish the formula had been better .. such a dud at this price.. too bad!
Me too!
Ack! Name…so…unintentionally…inappropriately…amusing! 😛 Sometimes I think that takes a bit of the sting out of a ‘meh’ product – when the name is so inappropriately appropriate 😀 Not much of the sting, mind you, but in the land of no returns, one takes what one gets 😉
I know! LOL!
love the finish but it seems like too much work!
It is definitely a lot of work 🙁
This looks really pretty on you. I’ve been going over a couple of subtle corals because I don’t have that coloured blush yet and this is my favourite uptill now. Shame about the grade but it’s good thing that I can focus on the dupes instead.
Thank you! It’s my second MJB blush (I think), and they’ve been equally bad 🙁
Booo…I was hoping this would be dupe ish to chanel Espiegle. My search continues…
Awww!
I recently purchased “Promiscuous” from the Mark Jacob Shameless collection. I totally agree with your review. I’m so disappointed with this product – it’s just wrong when the packaging is the best part of a product. Thanks for your review!
My pleasure, Linda! Sorry to hear you also had a disappointing experience 🙁
