Ardency Inn Original Mix Modster Long Play Lip Vinyl Review, Photos, Swatches
Ardency Inn Original Mix Modster Long Play Lip Vinyl
Ardency Inn Original Mix Modster Long Play Lip Vinyl ($23.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “red base with orange and neon pink reflects.” It’s a bright, orange-based red with a creamy, shiny finish. Giorgio Armani #400 (P, $29.00) is more shimmery, sheerer. Urban Decay Theodora (LE, $19.00) is less glossy. Urban Decay Punch Drunk (P, $19.00) is more orange. Maybelline Neon Red (P, $7.49) is less glossy, more orange. MAC Driven by Love (P, $19.50) is blue-based. See comparison swatches.
This is my first time trying Ardency Inn, and this is the only shade I’ve tried in the Lip Vinyl formula, but it’s an extremely pigmented, long-wearing gloss with a high-shine finish that’s slightly glossy. Though it’s described as “non-sticky, thin,” my first thoughts were, “Wow, this is thick and sticky,” so I very much disagree with those two aspects of the description. It has a curved, sponge-tip applicator so it can hug the curve of the lip. The formula is very opaque and one pass will get you full color coverage. Because of the thicker consistency of the product, it can get on teeth initially, so you’ll want to make sure to clean-up any excess. It wore well with noticeble shine for four and a half hours, and then it was not as shiny but still continued to have opaque color for another two hours. It was lightly hydrating while worn, and I didn’t notice any smell/taste to the formula.
If you’re familiar with formulas like Stila’s Vinyl Lipgloss or MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipglass and like either of those, then you’ll probably like this one (and vice versa).

It looks so neon ( and awesome!) but it would kinda annoy me that its the opposite of what it says 🙂
I can’t even imagine someone trying this and thinking it wasn’t sticky, lol!
Wow, that is so bright, glossy and opaque!
I only wish it wasn’t quite as tacky – I notice that I fuss with my lips more with this type of texture!
wow that’s such a gorgeous colour! are you planning on trying some of the other colours? dubstep remix looks really interesting :3
Hi Liv,
Sorry, this is the only one I have!
Oh wow! So pigmented! This is a gorgeous shade.
It is crazy pigmented!
What a nice warm red this is!
Glad ya liked it 🙂
Awesome! I’ve been really interested in trying some products from Ardency Inn, and I definitely think I’ll pick one of these up!
Hope you enjoy your foray into the brand!
The formula is so so pigmented and the color is just woow.. looks like a glossy version of MAC Ruby woo to me!! 🙂
Just warmer! 🙂
Never heard of this brand, seems promising!
So far so good!
The texture is disappointing, but I’m wondering where the hell the “reflects” are! They’re the most exciting part of the product’s description. 🙁
They’re definitely there – they’re kind of what gives it such a neon color, but because it’s glossy, they’re hard to see (they’re very fine).
Is this a relatively newer brand, or have I just completely missed it while shopping at Sephora? 🙂
It’s fairly new!
You know, I feel the same way about UD’s Lip Junkies–they feel sticky on, to me.
That’s a really vivid red, though, wow.
I just have no idea how someone applied this and said, “Yep, non-sticky.”
Sometimes I actually doubt that the people writing the caracteristics of the product actually tried it. Still looks gorgeous
It’s possible, though depressing to consider!
Whooaaa it looks so thick and gloppy!
It’s pretty thick!
I know I’m in the minority here, but I don’t mind my glosses being slightly thick and tacky – they stay in place better on me! I rarely buy high end gloss, but I might add this one to the wishlist. I love these bright, bold reds. 🙂
I don’t really mind overall – it will depend on the formula – but my issue was more that they said specifically that it wasn’t and it was quite tacky!
I think your review was very fair. 🙂 I appreciate that you take companies to task for their claims.
holy pigmented! so pretty!
Definitely doesn’t fail you on pigmentation!
