Chanel Hasard (99) Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow ($28.50 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “matte lavender.” It’s a muted, plummy mauve with a matte finish. theBalm Just This Once Jamie is warmer, browner. Disney Carpet is purpler. MAC Swelter is also purpler. NARS Charade #1 is warmer. MAC Universal Appeal is darker, more shimmery. MAC Daylight is more shimmery. Guerlain Boulevard du Montparansse #5 is slightly lighter, pinker. See comparison swatches.

The texture was soft, smooth, and finely-milled. It had a silky feel and blended easily on the skin. It had mostly opaque color coverage, but it can be sheered out if desired, because it has such a blendable texture.  Hasard seems like a great shade for fall, and I’m curious to see how Gri-Gri looks beside it (I just bought it last night, so hopefully I get it early next week).  I thought it was going to be more dupable, but between the matte finish and the balance between pink, plum, and mauve, it wasn’t as readily duped.  It lasted eight hours without creasing, but there was some faint fading at that point, and then more noticeable fading after nine hours.

This would be such a “workhorse” shade. However, I think I’ll just plan to pick up NARS Charade, since it’ll be so much easier to get, and I’ve been contemplating it, anyway.

So pretty – I have NARS Charade – so I don’t need this – but I too will be interested to see what you think of Gri-Gri. I want it – but do I need it!?

How similar is this to the shade mauve from the lorac pro palette? These are my favorite types of colors in my crease to bring out the green in my eyes! Similar ones I also like are UD tease, Lorac unconditional, and inglots 344

Really eager to see Gri Gri! In fact, today I was at the department store that carries Chanel but I was so frazzled from my other shopping (wedding undergarments! Yeesh!) that I completely forgot to go to the counter to see if it was in stock yet.

It’s a lovely color, that’s for certain. I almost picked it up at Nordstrom’s last week but decided to stick with Gri Gri as my purchase from this collection. Which is all right – I think Gri Gri is the showstopper of the collection. It’s game over for all those other shades in my collection. Everyone can pack up their palettes and go home. 😉

Brownish purple eye shadow is one of Fall 2013 colors – the eye shadow can be simple and nearly translucent to nearly opaque.. Either way this color is representing Urban Swag to the fullest…
I am picking this puppy up tomorrow..
