Chanel Eden (437) Levres Scintillantes Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is described as a “translucent raspberry.” It’s a shimmer-free pink-tinted gloss. On lips, it gave my lips a slightly pinker tint (and looked very much like Evolee once applied, but there’s a decrease in the warmth added). There is a number of sheer glosses that are similar to this.  I wish Chanel would consider releasing a better variety in intensity/opacity within a collection.

Again, sheer glosses are one person’s best friend and another’s nightmare. At least with Eden, Chanel made it clear what to expect: not just sheer but a translucent kind of color. The effect of this gloss is primarily adding a glossy, high-shine finish to lips, rather than adding sparkle or color. My lips looked pinker and less washed-out with this applied, but there’s no arguing about how subtle it is. It was rather difficult to assess how long this gloss lasted on me, but I noticed that at least half the glossiness had disappeared after two hours. There was some subtle sheen that I could still detect after three hours, but by four hours, my lips felt naked. The texture is slightly thin, non-sticky, and comfortable to wear. I wore this back-to-back, and it was lightly hydrating during that time.

These glossimers have been sort of disappointing. I can’t tell much difference between the three when applied. Seems a waste to have a bunch of colorless/very sheer glosses launched in the same collection.

so good that you are reviewing these now. when I tested them out, I did think they were “so so”. Chanel was the first high end product that I bought many years ago….just never thought it was a stand-out.

If this looked like it did in the tube I’d love it, but I’m going to be one of those whiners and say what’s the point? Every beauty brand out there offers a clear/super sheer gloss. Why not have a few amazing, unique colours? If you’re going to buy a more expensive brand I think you should at least be offered a few really special colours/finishes/lasting powers. Given that we in Australia get the lousy baked eyeshadows, and a lipstick is $45+ there’s no enticement for me to buy Chanel cosmetics…

About a week ago, I went to the only counter in my city that had received the collection, and was hoping to love this gloss and Coco shine Pygmalion. Pygmalion is gorgeous, but I´m not interested in this glossimer, that looks so bright on the tube and swatches clear, really I swatched it three times and couldn´t believe how colorless it was. Chanel should have offered one clear gloss, another semi opaque and a really opaque one, at least that way it would be offering different options for people that want sheer and for people that want color equally.

My main gripe is why can’t they simply make sure the product matches its appearance in the tube? It does seem like they’re trying to trick people into buying it, yes? How many practically clear glosses has Chanel made that look electric pink in the tube?

I haven’t bought Chanel products in a long while due to the fact that too many of their products have no color payoff. Not just glossimers (which I don’t like at all due to their sheerness) but even eye shadows. I wasted too much money already on their products and got too disappointed overtime.
If I am paying big bucks, I want it to show up on my skin/lips/cheeks/eyelids, etc

I have to say, these were jelly inspired with the collection. That being said as I saw the whole new summer line, yes its pricy for their vision, but its Chanel. If you are value concious and want biggest glossimer bang for your buck look into the more opaque glossimer extreme. I picked up daydream instead of these this weekend because its too personally sheer for me, but in truth they are supposed to be worn with a lipstick and rarely as a stand alone to make it work.

I agree with you sometimes glossimers are ment to be sheer, however they should have offered some opaque options in this collection, when I mentioned I disliked the sheerness the MUA showed me jalousie glossimer… I ended up leaving with a lipstick instead.

Products like this confuse me to be honest. There is no way I would spend 30 dollars on a product that gives no color payoff. I could go to the drugstore and buy a clear gloss for a fraction of the price and get basically the same look.

I would also buy it if it was opaque, but for a clear gloss I can use jordana or something like that, and this comes from a Chanel fan who doesn´t like the drugstore.
