5 Sparkling Eyeshadows for Summer

I love the impact that glitter and sparkle can have on a look, as it can be so brightening on the lid and just fun to wear. These are five of my current favorites (that are permanent) for summer 🙂

  1. Make Up For Ever D716 Crystalline Papaya — a sparkling, pinky-peach beige
  2. Urban Decay Maui Wowie — a sparkling, muted, almost antique gold
  3. ColourPop So Quiche — olive-brown with pink and gold micro-glitter
  4. ColourPop Chipper — a glittery sea foam green
  5. Make Up For Ever D104 Black Diamond — a rich black with silver sparkle

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I have not one, but TWO pans of Maui Wowie…in BOS III and in the new formulation, which was supposed to be so much better than the original. Even in the new formula, I find this gorgeous shade to be virtually unwearable because of the fallout. The golden side of Nars Kauai is virtually identical but doesn’t have the fallout so it’s a joy to wear. Every single time I decide to give the “new” Maui Wowie another chance, I invariably find glitter bits all over my cheekbone, under-eye area or even on my nose as the day wears on. So disappointing because it really is a gorgeous colour.

I usually just use it by itself from lashline to almost the eyebrow, then I use a highlight color on the browbone.

If I want something more dramatic, I’ll use it with Envy, Mittens, Lectra or Bae.

It is! So Quiche has become a staple for me. I use it in the center of my lids for that beautiful light-mauvey sparkle & that ‘khaki-ish’ base. Loooooove it!

Oo, those are nice! Maui Wowie has always been a long time favorite of mine since its initial release, and I still use the originals. I don’t own any mufe yet. (Find ten, find ten more stops me, haha!) So Quiche is quite popular yet I have similar dupes from MAC, and probably others, so I have to say no. Chipper! Gorgeous! (Same 10 & 10 rule. Thanks, Christine!) I purchased Flux instead of Chipper, can add shimmer later. I think these are a great group of colors where everyone can find something! Thank you. Equality & diversity is obviously respected here. 🙂 <3 xoxo

I love Maui Wowie! One of the few glittery shadows I wear. It’s a fantastic brow highlighter and a little goes a long way. Pretty much the only other glittery shadow I’ll wear is UD’s Chopper because i love the color and texture so much.

Time for me to get So Quiche, it has been on my extensive ColourPop wishlist ever since I first saw your swatches of it! That list just keeps mushrooming, I’m tellin ya! I already have Maui Wowie, very cool for summer. Oops! Chipper is one that list too!
