5 Shades of Weathered Blue
I love weathered blues; which I interpret as blues that are dusty, muted, gray-tinged, stormy, and such. There’s just a faded quality to them, but there’s still depth and interest in the color. My very favorite of all-time is Urban Decay Strip, which was discontinued quite awhile ago.
- Urban Decay Shattered — a shimmering, muted blue with green and gold shimmer
- L’Oreal Infinite Sky — a gorgeous, glimmering stormy blue with a hint of gray
- Zoya Skylar — a muted, gray-tinged blue with gold sparkle
- Inglot #336 — slightly brightened and richer, but still a rather muted, navy blue with a matte finish
- Zoya Sunshine — a sparkling, muted navy blue polish
I’m not always one for blue, but Shattered looks like a gorgeous color.
It’s such a versatile shade – really changes/leans different ways depending on what it’s paired with!
I love Shattered! Also love Weathered by MAC too!
Weathered… so appropriate, lol!! 🙂 Good shade, too!
I think Weathered (MAC’s Pro Longwear one) is being discontinued. At least here in Canada, it’s in the “Good Byes” section.
What a lovely range of shades! That Zoya polish is stunning 🙂
I wish I could wear more blue eyeshadows but I feel like they make my blue eyes look dull in comparison.
You could try pairing the blue with a gold, silver, or copper 🙂
Weathered blue, what a great way to describe this kind of shade! I have to remember that.
MAC Starless Night pigment, NARS China Blue & Kamchatka, NARS Brumes & Mandchourie, UD Sabbath (Black Palette)… I could go on & on! I love a deep, weathered blue; in fact, it’s really the only type of blue I can wear.
Lovely picks, Amy! 🙂
Strip! I picked it up on sale after seeing your swatches when it was first announced that they were discontinuing it. I love how it reads a bit silver on me!
I wish they’d bring it back!
I love China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Fade into Hue, MAC Powder Eyeshadow in Tilt, Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Lacquer in Catherine H, Zoya Professional Lacquers in Kristen and Skylar. 🙂
I should give Shattered a try. I always see photos of it that look so lovely but I tend to steer clear of dusty blues and I don’t quite know why. I think I’ll give it a try next time I’m at Sephora.
I hope you try it, Mariella! xo
One blue-grey eye shadow I’ve been wearing a lot is MAC’s Cumulus from a collection years ago,I’ve hit pan on it 🙁 and they haven’t repromoted. It reminds me of Swan Lake also was a limited edition and I wish they would bring it back. It’s the perfect blue on my me,not too bright, very wearable and I can wear it slightly smokey with other darker greys or just by itself for daytime. So any Blue but more grey than blue shades—Holy Grail!
MAC has so many cool LEs that they’ve never brought back! Fingers crossed they bring it back for you soon!
What a fitting color for today. Beautiiful!
I like the first two 🙂
I don’t wear blue eyeshadow exceptionally often, but I do like Shattered and Infinite Sky quite a bit. I like to pair them with an iron grey or cool brown. 🙂
Shattered, infinite sky, and skylar. I don’t very much like wearing nail polish but the eyshadows are really gorgeous and wearable. Love love love.
Two nail polishes, Dolce and Gabbana in Anise and OPI I Don’t Give a Rotterdam and an old Seventeen (Greek brand) eyeshadow, older than Acropolis!
Any cool toned muted color looks great on me.I want shattered very badly now!
That Inglot shadow is soo pretty!
