My favorite gray eyeshadow is MAC Typographic. It’s such a great texture and color and it’s perfect for smoking out black eyeliner.
I wish there were more mattes with the texture of Typographic!
Same here! They really need to expand their Matte2 range, I’d buy so many of them! I don’t buy MAC shadows at all, but I would with that formula.
MUG Galaxy looks amazing! Great mix of gray, black, and brown.
It’s one of their better shades!
Thanks for the swatches, Christine! I gotta say though that gray is probably the most difficult shade for me to wear around my eyes! It dulls them, and makes me look as if I haven’t slept in a week, unless they are gunmetal gray like MAC Knight Divine or blackened gray like MAC Typographic. I have MUFE Pearl Gray in my 15 palette, but I have yet to use it. Eventually, eventually, LoL!

I don’t wear gray eyeshadows very often. If I do, they usually are more silvery like the MUFE Pearl Gray (which I do like a lot), or have a pink, lavender or plum tone to them.
Pearl Gray has a great finish!
I think Catrice Welcome to Graysland is my all time favorite, followed by MUFE Pearl Gray. I was so psyched and let down by the grays in MUG’s latest offerings. Still pretty annoyed…

MAC Copperplate is one of my all time favorite shadows. It’s very similar to the MUFE one you listed.

I find gray eyeshadows interesting in how much they change person to person – like what’d gray to one person might be taupe to another one and even silvery blue to another.
Like UD Mushroom is one of my favourites, but while it swatches warm gray on my hand, it takes on a blue-ish tone on my much darker eyelids. And I think it looked more taupe in your swatches.
And nice picks, I really like Transvaal for some reason.
Very true, A! I tried to pick shades that were primarily gray, and not taupe (Mushroom is taupe to me), and there definitely seemed to be more shades in the taupe arena!
I agree with you about Typographic – it is a wonderfully versatile and useful shadow. I also like Too Faced Garter Belt and (now discontinued) Velvet Revolver. Not sure if they are “true grey” shades but I sure do find them useful. Another “love” is UD Undone from the Naked2Basics palette. It might be one of the ones I actually hit pan on/

I love my grey eyeshadows – I use them a lot because I often wear black and white.
My favourites include:
Estee Lauder Film Noir – still one of the best grey quints around
Too Faced Glamour to go – the smoky grey shades
UD – Derailed (in Vice 2)

Print from MAC is my all time favorite shade! It is the perfect, mid-tone cool gray. “Girl Crush” by ColourPop is another perfect mid-light gray.
MAC has some good grays!

I love grey eyeshadows, and I don’t have any ot these!
I’ going to add Typographic and Galaxy to my wishlist. I think I go for silvey and cooler greys, I have a few, like Knight Divine, Silver Ring, Electra, I also like Scene, but maybe that’s not a true grey. My light isn’t all that good in the evening.
Typographic is one of MAC’s best eyeshadows!
MAC Knight Divine is one I feel like a lot of people sleep on but I love it. It’s almost a bluish gray so I love pairing it with blues.
It is a nice one!
