5 Ocean-Inspired Eyeshadows

5 Ocean-Inspired Eyeshadows

When I think of the ocean, I think of blue, green, and teal all merged into one. Depending on the depth and clarity of the water, you might a really smoldering blue, maybe something closer to blackened blue, and at other times, a beautiful translucent aqua blue. I could have easily chosen five more shades for this topic, LOL! There were so many amazing shades to choose from.

What color best represents the ocean in your stash?

I picked it up in either my first or second MAC haul (I was picking up about ten at a time back then). I don’t really wear much blue, but that one really called to me. The first thing I thought of was the ocean.

Ohhhhhhh, the Metier de Beauté one…… ohhhhhh! I can’t wear medium or aqua blues, let alone pastels, with my olive skin and seemingly black eyes, but I love darkened navy blues. How close do you think that MdB one is to L’Oreal’s Infallible in Midnight Blue or to NARS’ Night Flight? I love the colour of Night Flight: http://makeupforlife.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/nars-night-flight-single-eyeshadow.jpg It can be a bit tricky and dry to apply, but the colour is so worth it to me. I like to put it in the crease when I wear purples, medium greys or greens, but I also like it just by itself with a shimmery white highlighting colour on the brow bone and inner eye, and with a silverish eyeliner.

Thank you. For some reason, I had thought you’d reviewed the Infallibles Midnight Blue and hated it. But it was my mistake because I’d confused it with the really similar looking Armani ETK shade that you thought was dry, patchy and impossible to work with. Phewwww! I really like the look of that MdB eyeshadow but I’ll hold off until you get around to reviewing Midnight Blue because I suspect they’re pretty close.

Urban Decay Peace is quite pretty!
PD: YAY for the change to the old posting comments format. I couldn’t really get over LiveFyre, I had lots of troubles signing in there…

Mmm, these are beautiful! I want some bright makeup to wear to a Caribbean themed party next week so I might take a look at these 🙂

These kind of colors sing to my soul! I really need to pick up Illamasqua Burst. I’ve got a lot of blue-based teals, because they’re my favorite. Illamasqua Intense is a favorite, Cult Nails Living Water and Hypnotize Me, especially combined.
