5 Must-Have Shimmery Blushes
This was a tough one, because I wanted to have diversity in color, and preferably, diversity in brand, too. ‘Cause let me tell you, there were 239847234 corals I’d love to have included, too.
- Le Metier de Beaute Echo — coral-orange with a golden shimmer-sheen; lovely texture and wear
- NARS Taj Mahal — golden shimmered orange; lots of great warmth, plenty of pigment
- Benefit Bella Bamba — medium-dark pink with a subtle shimmer-sheen; very wearable, buildable
- theBalm Cabana Boy — shimmered plum; simple, wearable, beautiful on
- Tom Ford Wicked — subtly blue-based medium-dark pink with a shimmer-sheen; long-wearing and super soft
One of the nicer shimmer blushes I’ve got is Rose Gold from Sleek 🙂 I prefer subtle sheen blushes and highlighter in places I want shinier, though.
My favorite shimmery blush is either Cargo Rome (coral with golden shimmer) or Tarte Peaceful (peachy with shimmer, though it’s LE and probably difficult to find now). I was toying with the idea of ordering LMdB Echo, but I’m glad I didn’t because I won it in a giveaway! Can’t wait to lay my hands on it. I’m also very partial to coral 🙂

@BooBooNinja Thanks hon! If I didn’t win it I’d totally purchase it at some point though. Coral blushes are my weakness :p
My favorite shimmery blush, and probably my favorite blush colour ever, is NARS’ Cactus Flower. A true pink-coral with just the faintest shimmer. Frightening in the pan, perhaps, where it appears bright red but it’s absolutely not. It’s just fabulous on! Second favorite may be NARS’ Luster which I see as medium or soft burnished gold with a sheen but which others (including you) describe as apricot-gold. After reading this site, I have concluded that I have absolutely zero colour nuance. <grin>
It’s a toss up between Too Faced La Vie en Rose (which has shimmers in it but doesn’t seem all that shimmery when I wear it) and MAC Dollymix. That Bella Bamba looks lovely – but I hate Benefit’s blush packaging so much it might just keep me from buying it!
@Mariella You could always “depot” Bella Bamba right away and pop it in a freestyle palette. If you do it quick enough, you might be able to wipe out any memory of the packaging. 🙂
Gosh, I want LMdB Echo sooo bad–and a Tom Ford blush…any one will do! 😛
Props for leaving out Nars Orgasm! It’s overrated I think and doesn’t actually work for everyone. Plus everyone knows about it already.
Tarte Glisten!
Slowly getting a few blushes, but all I’ve really got are Tarte Glisten, Benefit Bella Bamba, Milani Luminoso, and a Milani Berry Amore on order.

The LFdB blush (first one) actually looks like one of their bronzer/blush duos, not Echo. What do you think? Or is it just my monitor?
@shelleyb It is a blush/bronzer duo – the blush in it is Echo. I don’t have Echo by itself, sorry!
@Christine (Temptalia) Thanks for the clarification! That makes more sense now. Sorry if this seemed petty but I do have Echo (however it did crack/crumble because of the softness of the product) and it didn’t look like the image shown.
I just got hold of a couple of Inglot blushes at IMATS L.A. – never seen Inglot in person before that. I chose a slightly shimmery finish on both, and they’re both gorgeous. The shades are 34 and 57, but there were so many gorgeous other ones.
Also at IMATS, I picked up Pinched by Nyx, which I’ve heard so much about, and it’s gorgeous, too!
That Tom Ford blush.. is so pretty!! Wow…!
I have noticeable pores, so I shy away from shimmery blushes. That said, I really like NARS Nico over a matte blush, as it leaves just a soft sheen that doesn’t exaggerate my pores.
I love MAC Gentle mineralize blush. It looks scary in the pan but its very beautiful when worn.
Does it look anything like bella bamba? They seem really close to me.

I can vouch for TF Wicked being well….WICKED! Generally speaking, I’m not one for shimmery blushes because it’s too much on my skin, but TF does it so right!
