5 Gorgeous Purple Eyeshadows

I love purple eyeshadow!  It’s such a great shade to use on the outer lid or crease when paired with golds, pinks, corals, and aquas.  These are five of my current top picks for anyone on the hunt for a fun purple eyeshadow to try!  (You can see them all here in the Swatch Gallery.)  What are your favorites? What would you recommend to other readers?

  1. Sugarpill Hysteric — a sparkling, medium purple with warm undertones
  2. Urban Decay Flash — a light-medium, cool-toned purple
  3. Inglot #439 — a medium-dark, rich purple with a frosted finish
  4. Make Up For Ever #92 — a deep, vibrant purple with a matte finish
  5. Makeup Geek Duchess — a muted, cool-toned purple with a satin finish

My votes would be the purple side of Nars Kauai (too gorgeous for words!) and Habanera as well as UD Omen and Half Truth and an un-named and LE shade from Too Faced that was simply called “Exclusive” in the Enchanted Glamourland palette from years ago. I also really like Too Faced Smoking Jacket (from the Smokey Eye Palette) and Candied Violet from their new Chocolate Bar palette.

I love purple.. especially those with orchid or red undertones (UD Psychedelic Sister, MAC Palace Pedigreed) or conversely, those with strong blue undertones (Guerlain terracotta kohl in Blu Acqua, Nars Daphne (wish it was a better performer tho)) .

Love this post! Purple is my all time favorite eyeshadow to use. Some of my favorites right now are L’Oreal Infalliables Purple Priority and Perpetual Purple. Also Urban Decay’s Rockstar, love the shadow and eyeliner.

I use Flash all the time…and I will definitely argree with Mariella, I want Nars Kauai so terribly for that purple…and the gold. ha ha

Oh, 92! I’ve loved pretty much every purple I’ve ever come across, but this one is the one that always comes to mind when I think /purple/. It’s so beautifully matte and pigmented — I went through a stage where I was wearing a lot of shimmery beige washes of colour across my lid, with just a touch of MUFE 92 blended into the outer corner. It’s such a lovely, seamless way to add a subtle violet tint to any eyeshadow look.

If I’m not wearing neutrals, purples are definitely my most worn. I love your picks! My personal favorite is Nars Strada…it’s gorgeous!

I think I’ve made it my goal in life to own every purple eyeshadow, LOL!

My favorites lately have been Parental Advisory from Fyrrinae when I want a strong purple, and Inglot 617 or Sephora Night Owl (they’re almost the same) when I want a soft purple. It’s no coincidence that these are also colors you’ve featured in the last few months! 🙂
