5 Bright Green Eyeshadows to Try

I love green eyeshadow! Whether it’s a soft, pastel green or a deep, emerald green or a murky, earthy, olive green. Here are some of my favorites for brighter pops of green for spring.

  1. Make Up For Ever #91 — a bright, medium green with yellow undertones
  2. Illamasqua Pivot — a pop of chartreuse with a matte finish
  3. Sugarpill Tipsy — a shimmery, frosted green
  4. MAC Lucky Green — a bright, shimmering yellow-toned green
  5. Illamasqua Fledgling –a vibrant, grass green with a matte finish

What are your favorite shades of green for spring?

The only bright greens I own are the ones in a couple of Kat von D palettes, and L’Oréal Golden Emerald (although I may have a few stray singles floating around…). It’s a color I’m always attracted to, but for some reason, I never actually reach for them much. When I saw the KvD Gypsy palette, I grabbed it immediately, but I only use it 1-2X a year…

I also just ordered NARS Wicked on eBay yesterday, and I’m very excited to try it!

I think it’s just a matter of reorganizing my stash. Whenever I get something new, those seem to get the most use, unless I’m going for something specific. I plan to do some purging this week, and while I’m at it, I should reorganize!

It’s plenty pigmented for me, and a true emerald green. However, I’m so pale that I’m nearly translucent so it may not work for everyone. It just takes two passes with a brush to build a bold green eye for me.

Thanks for reminding me that I really need to look into Illamasqua’s matte shadows! I haven’t done so yet and those colours look amazing! Also, while it’s still cold up here and there’s still snow on the ground, it’s high time I cracked out some spring colours!

I’m warming up to green shades. It’s actually one of the color I use the less, because my eyes are olive green and I prefer more contrasting shade. I never had the chance to try illamasqua eyeshadows, I have to say Pivot is a very nice shade I might place an order soon.

Love this! I love yellow greens so much, even though they look amazingly terrible on me if they’re more than a tiny accent, hehe. If I were rich, I would just buy them to stare at 😀

I seem to remember you doing a list of teals, and a list of emerald greens – but have you ever done a list of pastel/mint/baby greens? I’d love to see that, since good pastel greens (that aren’t nail polish) seem to be tricky to find! Nice for spring though 🙂

*claps hands in excitement* It’s greeeeeeen! I love green! Green is my favorite color! Green is awesome! Did I mention that green is my favorite color?

😉

MAC’s Lucky Green is one of my favorite yellowish greens by the way.

Anyone else only able to think about Vamp Willow in Buffy when you see green shadow like this?

Not that it’s a bad thing! She wears it well, and shows that green is actually a totally wearable shade!

I’ve been drooling over illamasqua shadows for a long time! Particularly pivot, fledgling, and burst. But as I own the entire sugarpill collection (…heh.) would they just be repeats for me? The mattes are my favorite and midori doesn’t really do it for me. What do you think?

I love all these seasonal color swatches you post Christine! It’s so cool to see a color that just pops and put it on your wishlist or to see one you already have and pull it for the week. I am loving Urban Decay’s Mildew right now.
