5 Berry Lipsticks to Try for Summer

Reader Ammara requested a top five for berry-hued lip colors for summer, so here are my top picks! 🙂 I’d love to hear yours — please share your recommendations in the comments.

  1. Guerlain Gladys — a brightened, fuchsia-berry
  2. Burberry Bright Poppy — a rich, reddish-berry with a matte finish
  3. YSL Forbidden Burgundy — a glossy berry
  4. Too Faced So Berry Sexy — a slightly brightened pink-berry with a soft shine
  5. Urban Decay Rapture — a warmer, muted plum

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I don´t know if it qualifies as berry, but since you reviewed Dolce&Gabbanas Dahlia lipstick, I want to try it out. Now I only need to find out where to get it but sooner or later it will be mine 😀

The first and last colors look so gorgeous! I really should get in on this trend, but it seems like lipstick (no matter what shade) makes my incredibly pale skin look so washed out. I may need to try that Urban Decay one though. 🙂

Yay! Berries are my favorite all season every season (well…alongside any super vampy color). I still miss my first berry HG; Stila’s now-discontinued Natalie inspired by Natalie Portman’s lip color. Perfect MLBB for me. My stockpile just ran out earlier this year. Forbidden Burgundy and Bright Poppy are now on my list.

Clinique Amberglass, Blushing Nude.
MAC Sheer Plum,
Lancôme Ooh La La,
Revlon Colorburst in Rosy Nude,
Palladio Berry and Brownie lipbalms.

I’d go for Smashbox Grenadine or Illamasqua Glissade. They’re both definitely berry, but bright berry, if that makes sense? Like, they lean slightly into fuchsia territory so they’re nice and vibrant, perfect for summer.

I’m kind of surprised I haven’t given into Gladys already. I’m trying to spread my Rouge G purchases out a little so that I don’t end up in the poor house. But she’s such a beauty… Thanks for including Rapture, too. I love the UD formula, but somehow this one hadn’t caught my attention. Will have to check that one out.

You know, I keep looking at Rapture, and thinking: shall I get it? Those sort of ‘dark/muted slightly purplish pinks’ have a real attraction for me, but I find each one swatches differently against my skin… it’s like the Melted Fig thing – I really want it, but I can’t tell how it would look on me…

I’m loving YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #17 (Rose in Tension) at the moment for a dark pink/berry colour – makes me want to have a look at Forbidden Burgundy!

I love berry shades! I’ve got another YSL one- a glossy darker one called Pourpre Intouchable. It is very flattering and can’t stop wearing it on the winter!
