Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

NARS Blush still holding on strong! I hardly ever use my Nars blushes as of late. Of course they are great blushes, just fallen out of my rotation.

Very interesting winners, and quite noticeable that 1) the very high end/prestige brands (Chanel, Tom Ford, Charlotte Tilbury, Guerlain, etc.) won few, if any, categories and 2) the breadth of low-to mid-end brands being recognized by readers for their quality products.

Ooooh – so exciting to see some of my faves in the winning spots. It says a lot that IT Cosmetics CC Cream won in the “Best Foundation” category (I love it and voted for it, I think). But next year, Christine, I’m wondering if BB/CC creams should have a category separate from “Foundations” because I know I was torn between voting for it or for Guerlain Lingerie de Peau.

Awww – I’m sorry to hear that you’ll probably be eliminating them. I’m sure they’re a pain in the butt for you and your team to do but, oh, they are so much fun to participate in and to read. To be honest, looking at some of the multi-year winners like UDPP and thinking about the high regard people have for this particular site, I was thinking that UD should want to link with Temptalia to promote UDPP as “Temptalia’s Choice Winner 5 years running” or similar. I mean, we see products tagged with the “Allure Beauty Editor Award” or “Elle Magazine Award-winner” and I truly believe that this site is a much better representation of what beauty products are out there in the market and how they perform (at the risk of sounding cynical…who, ME???….and having tried some of those so called “award winners”, more and more I have come to believe that their winning status has more to do with which companies advertise heavily in the publication or which ones send in lots of free swag and take the beauty editors out for swanky lunches and dinners. Really and truly, on those occasions when I see a “XYZ Magazine Beauty Editor’s Pick” claims on products which you’ve reviewed here with more negative results, I know whom I believe and which opinion I’m more likely to trust!

Oh I hope that you’ll decide to keep the awards! Pretty sure that’s how I found your site in the first place, searching for “Best (x) of 20xx”. They are not at all necessary, but so, so fun. I especially look forward to your best-of lists, but the reader awards are great, too. Regardless of whether the awards stay or go, thank you for everything you do every day!

Temptalia’s community introduced me to this mascara and I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s seriously awesome stuff. It’s long wearing on me and cry-proof. Plus, it makes my eyelashes long, voluminous, and never clumpy. May the makeup gods be kind and never discontinue it! *feverishly knocks on wood*

I’m so happy to see that some of my faves for which I voted (ABH, Bite Beauty etc.) won in their respective categories.
Thank you so much Christine for your tremendous work and for allowing us, your readers, to express our beauty preferences/choices. I’m so sad to hear that the Readers’ Choice Awards might disappear next year due to lower participation.
“Temptalia” is a well-known and very respected blog in the beauty community and I’m sure that the beauty brands keep an eye on it even if they don’t always acknowledge it publicly. It saddens me that you do all this hard work of bringing quality and in-depth reviews to us and that we do not take the time to vote once a year for our favorites. You give us, the consumers, a platform to make our voice known and we should use it imo :).

Wow! I actually picked several winners this year, and, when I didn’t, usually picked a runner-up šŸ™‚ Partly, I think, because I tried not to check “other”, and just chose my favorite of those that were nominated, lol!

I think Temptalia readers are quite discerning when it comes to the quality of makeup. I would hate to see the awards disappear, Christine, I really enjoy them!
