Most used face/cheek product this month? Cheek — Medusa’s Makeup Blush in Liaison; NARS blush in Almeria. Face — BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Opal 01; ABH Glow Kit Moonchild.

Skin tone: Medium warm (MAC NC30)
Favorite product this month: It’s not new but I bought too many palettes last year and am just now really using my UD Vice 4 palette. I got off to a rough start but now I’m really enjoying it. I’ve just started my third week with it and could easily see myself spending six weeks focused on this one palette.
Most used face/cheek products: I’ve been really liking the Too Faced Hangover Primer and Born This Way Foundation this month. I’ve had both products for over two years and I’ve had the foundation in my regular rotation, but I am just now seeing the benefit of using the Primer, probably because it’s winter. MAC sent me my Taraji Glow, so that and my NARS Unfiltered I and II blush palettes have been in daily use all month. Taraji Glow is amazing topped with Highlight the Truth.
Most used eye product: Of course UD Vice 4, as previously mentioned, but due to recommendations by the creative people on this blog, I have started using Anastasia’s Moon Glow highlighting palette with my vice 4 looks. Love how those highlighters look on top of my eye shadows!
Moonchild!

Most used eye product this month? MELT Love Sick eye shadow.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light/medium with yellow undertones
Favorite product this month? Toss up between the Elf Smudgepot in Cruisin’ Chic and MAC blush in Taupe for a one-and-done contour product. Just got the Hourglass Ambient Blush in Diffused Heat, and if it were earlier in the month that might have taken the top spot.
Most used face/cheek product this month? Tom Ford Blush in Wicked
Most used eye product this month? Into that little Elf Smudgepot in Cruisin’ Chic color with additions from Viseart palettes to create a complete eye look.
I like your picks! I may pick up that smudge pot, do you use it as a base or a shadow?
I’ve also had my eye on the Hourglass Diffused Heat, looks like a great blush!
Hi Elizabeth —
I use the Elf it as a mobile lid shadow on its own most of the time. Sometimes, like today, I put a little TF Pink Haze over it for something different. For $2.99, I am delighted with this little pot. 🙂
I was never an Hourglass fan girl, but I am really, really liking this blush. BUT….I have one thing that is nagging at me. The try-on sample in Sephora (I went without blush free to try it), had a bit of a higher proportion of white highlight to pigment. I loved the look. My husband loved it when I got home.
In the box I grabbed, the proportion is just the opposite, more pigment that highlight. I was really happy about that, and thought it would be better. In the end, I liked the configuration I tried in Sephora better. It had a more gentle, almost ethereal quality. The one I have, while truly lovely, is more like my regular blushes. It’s not as special as the one I tried in the store, if that makes any sense.
Soooo….my advice is — if you decide to get it, and like the sample in the store. Open the boxes in advance of purchasing so you get the same kind of ratio in order to get the same look at home.
Sorry for typos! Ugh!
I remember Josh Collier (who worked at Hourglass at the time) making a statement when they were first released that each blush shade (pan) has the same ratio of pigment to powder. The difference is in how it is distributed through the pan. If you get one that seems to have too much of one or the other then the opposite will be true as you work your way through the pan. I guess ideally you would know the ratio and choose the one that reflects that from the top view and just hope the balance is maintained throughout.
Whew, did I just over explicate or what?! 😉
I did not know that! I have spent way to much time being
“distressed” about how much I liked the other better than the one I have. I’m not unhappy with it by any means, but I do hope it changes a bit as I move through the product. Super helpful. Thanks!
I’m wearing ELFS smudge pot in brownie points today! 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones, dark brown eyes, black hair
Favorite product this month? Maybelline Better Skin concealer
Most used face/cheek product this month? Tarte Exposed blush, Essence Be My Highlight
Most used eye product this month? Revlon Creme Brûlée cream eyeshadow
Your skin tone/coloring: I have very light/pale porcelain skin with neutral undertones
Favorite product this month? The Blue Tansy resurfacing mask by Herbivore. I actually had someone tell me that whatever I was doing to my skin, I should keep doing it, since I started using this mask!!! It’s lovely!
Most used face/cheek product this month? Clinique cheek pop in Ginger Pop!
Most used eye product this month? Kat von D’s MetalMatte palette 🙂 I hope to get her Pastel Goth palette very sooooon too 😀
(I’m a budget beauty gal, so bear with me)
Skin tone: Fair with cool undertones
Favorite product this month: Revlon HD Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick, and Wet n Wild matte Vamp It Up! (Which is a dupe of ABH Potion liquid lipstick!)
Most use face product: Revlon Cream Blush
Most used eye product: BH Cosmetics Foil Eye Palette
I actually really like all these products! They are comparable to high end products for sure!
Christine, can you please review a Morphe Eye Palette or the new Morphe liquid lipsticks? They are soo hyped and I want to know what you think of them!
Your skin tone/coloring: light, cool to neutral
Favorite product this month? OCC Pool Boy Pencil! Cute alone, wonderful for layering.
Most used face/cheek product this month? Becca Pearl liquid highlighter. I’ve started mixing it with Kevyn Aucon concealer for a tinted moisturizer. I really appreciate the pigmentation of the KA concealer for breakouts and discoloration, but it can be a (literal) drag to blend over large areas, especially if there’s any sign of dryness. They’re both great products, but together, they are more than the sum of their parts.
Most used eye product this month? Stila liquid liner and an eyelash curler
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light with neutral undertones.
Favorite product this month? Probably my KVD Metal Matte Palette
Most used face/cheek product this month? Probably my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup. I’m not a huge fan of this, so I’ve been trying to just use it all up to be done with it. I’ve been using it as an under-eye corrector before my concealer.
Most used eye product this month? Probably my Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette! (I use the shade Matt Lin to set my primer)
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite product this month? I was going to say “Smashbox Smoky Cover Shot” because I really like it BUT yesterday, I once again pulled out the Chanel Empreinte du Desert quad and was, as always, so thrilled with the results so I have to say it was (as is so often the case) my fave product AGAINT this month
Most used face/cheek product this month? UD Rapture blush and Hourglass Ethereal Ambient Light Powder (it’s winter, I’m in Canada, I need all the ambient or direct light I can get!)
Most used eye product this month? ABH Mario palette
Skin tone: light-medium with periodic redness
Favorite product this month? Chanel Coco Code Blush
Most used face/cheek product this month? Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder in Porcelain.
Most used eye product this month? Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows and Bobbi Brown Smoky mascara.
Skin tone: In between NC20 and NC25! Very prominent yellow undertones, with cinnamon brown eyes, and dark dark brown curly hair (I cut off 6 inches on the 12th of january!!)
Favourite thing this month: Paula’s choice Shine Stopper + L’oreal Total cover foundation on top!! I have oily, acne prone skin. And My nose, forehead, and chin are ALWAYS oily. And with my being affiliated with Paula’s choice, I tried out their shine stopper and I LOVE it. It instantly mattifys the skin, but doesn’t feel dry!! And with the L’oreal foundation on top, it’s PERFECTION. I get full coverage, and it lasts and doesn’t transfer or break down on me!!
Most used face/cheek product: ELF Contour and Light Blush pallets!! I’v been using the cool brown in the contour kit to add a tiny bit of definition to my small, round face every day since I got it. And I love the deep plum and shimmery watermelon blushes from the light blush pallet!! They’re perfect!!
Most used eye product: I’v been wearing the shades in my Tarte Tartelette Tease pallet for about a week!!
My personal favourite look with it, is:
Whisper all over the lid to set the primer (matte light cream)
First Kiss in the crease (Satiny purpley/mauve shade!)
Crush on the mobile lid (glittery/shimmery bronzey shade!)
BFF on the outer corner/outer crease and lashline! (matte dark dark purple/plum)
> Your skin tone/coloring: fair, warm, blue eyes, light brown hair with copper highlights
> Favorite product this month? Laura Mercier matte radiance primer. Love it.
> Most used face/cheek product this month? see above, LM primer
> Most used eye product this month? Aside from UD Riff (in the mix somewhere most days, being the perfect color to make my blue eyes pop), UD Fireball, just to brighten things up in these winter months.
Skin Tone/Coloring: Porcelain Neutral (KVD L41/2, Bobbi Brown Alabaster/Porcelain, Tom Ford Cream/Alabaster, etc) with cool-leaning features.
Favorite Product This Month: I’ll stick with newer things this time for ease ha. Now of course Christine obviously knows I have to mention the new blue Eye Paint from MAC’s Kabuki Magic line in Win. So vibrant! I also really enjoyed the similarly-colored Flourish Me Bold kajal. Urban Decay’s newly released Vice single for the Spring line is an absolutely love purple. I LOVE the Becca First Light Priming Filter and the Soft Light Blurring Powder.
Most-Used Face/Cheek: Classic favorite NARS G-Spot has been coming out a lot for me lately (what an odd sentence). That’s not unusual but it’s especially nice this time of year or for when you feel like doing more of a drape than a straight contour. The new Becca products mentioned above were used every time I wore makeup this month.
Most-Used Eye: It’s been another super cream-shadow oriented month for me so I’m revisiting lots of old favorites and of course enjoying the ability to play with Eye Paints again 😛 Tom Ford, Milk, and Armani probably got the most play. I also rediscovered my Saucebox Forbidden Fruits palette. The new kajals have come into play a lot. And I’ve been having fun using KVD Alchemy over various gel and liquid liners for cool ombres and color-switches.
Skin tone: porcelain with pink undertones
Favourite product this month: A toss up between the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra light (which is now on sale at Priceline for Aus readers of this blog) – really great to wear under makeup and it saves your skin
Another favourite is the Clarins Joli Rouge lipstick in Red Terra – brick red and it doesn’t turn pink on my lips.
Most Used Face Product: the Clarins Super Restorative foundation in linen: it goes on really smoothly without the cakey feeling and lasts all day. The foundations covers any minor imperfections on my skin.
Most Used Eye Product: Sephora’s It Palette in Nudes – very cool toned and great shades for me..
Your skin tone/coloring: light and warm
Favorite product this month? MAC Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Highly Illogical from the Star Trek collection. The sheen is so pretty and the plummy shade perfect for winter.
Most used face/cheek product this month? Smashbox Studio Skin foundation. Not that I’m such a great fan, but I’m trying to finish it! I also have it in a shade that only works for me in the winter.
Most used eye product this month? Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rosegold, a mini that I got in a past Sephora Play box. It’s perfect for a quick everyday eye look.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC50
Favorite product this month? MUFE 104 lip gloss
Most used face/cheek product this month? Rock & Republic Shameless blush
Most used eye product this month? UD 24/7 Glide-on Double-Ended Eye Pencil in Whiskey/Zero
Your skin tone/coloring: fair with pink undertone
Favorite product this month? My new perfume – Silent Street by Derek Lam 10 Crosby
Most used face/cheek product this month? NARS Unfiltered II
Most used eye product this month? KVD Metal Matte
Skintone coloring: light, NC20, medium brown hair/skin
Favorite product this month: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer. I’m on a no buy for concealer, mascara, powder etc. I have quite a few to use up and this was one of them!
Most used face/cheek product: Hourglass Mood Exposure or Becca Flowerchild. First time having blush from either brand and I’m loving both blushes!
Most used eye product: Marc Jacobs Highliner in Brown Out. It is a bit difficult to remove but it has quite good staying power and one of the few brown eyeliners I have found that isn’t a flat brown nor is it brassy. I don’t really wear black eyeliner so finding a decent brown is quite the task for me!
Skin tone/coloring: Fair with neutral undertones
Favorite product this month: The bareMinerals Bareskin serum concealer has been an easy and reliable concealer for both my undereye and around my face on redness and discoloration.
Most used face/cheek product: I’ve been using my Nars Steven Klein One Shocking Moment palette a lot, mostly the blush shade Dolce Vita.
Most used eye product: Now that it’s depotted in a Z Palette, I have been using the Lorac Pro 3 a lot more.
Your skintone/ coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Tarte Lt.-Med. Honey in ACF, deep plum-brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Favorite product this month: KVD Alchemist Palette with UD Electric Palette.
Most used face/cheek product this month: UD Rapture Blush tying with MAC Sweet Visions from the Nutcracker Sweet collex.
Most used eye product this month: Equal parts Colourpop Koosh and Viseart Chroma Theory palette (yes, used together!) and then pairings using UD Electric Palette with shades from KVD Alchemist. Hard to figure out what I use the most often as I switch things up daily. I did find a beautiful way to use my Viseart Chroma, though: CP Girly inner corner, Koosh mid-lid, MAC x Selena Missing My Baby transition, with No Me Queda Más in crease, then go all smokey with Chroma!
Your eye shadow combinaisons are inspiring! Good find!
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15 w/some redness
Favorite product this month? New Sephora Cream Lip Stains
Most used face/cheek product this month? Blush- Tarte Exposed, Bronzer- NARS Laguna, Highlighter- Becca Moonstone (pressed), Contour- Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in Medium
Most used eye product this month? Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette
Skintone/coloring: Light to medium light w/neutral-cool undertones, Blond & blue
Favorite product: Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara
Most Used face/cheek product: Burberry BB Cream
Most Used eye product: Pulled out my Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadows to be sure to get some more use from them before they expire. New favorite is Veruschka. I really thought it was too dark so had avoided it but it turns out that if I just apply it in my outer corner and then use a brush to blend toward my inner corner it turns into a beautiful silvery-green. I change up my eyeshadow daily so the fact that I have worn these shadows at least six times this month makes them “most used.” 😉
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium warm golden/tan
Favorite product this month? Drunk Elephant B Hydra and Mecca Cosmetica SPF 30 Mineral Gel sunscreen! Also because it’s super hot Down Under and I’ve been going to the beach every other day, I love spritzing on some Nuxe gold shimmer dry oil.
Most used face/cheek product this month? Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Flesh & Fantasy, Physicians Formula Bronze Booster, and Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette.
Most used eye product this month? Tarte Tarteist Pro palette and my favourite Colourpop metallic finish shadows on top when I don’t want to use any of the ones in the Tarte palette (namely Lala and White Rabbit).
Your skin tone/coloring: light, yellow undertones
Favorite product this month? Alchemist by KVD – I am having so much fun layering this on top of other eyeshadows and seeing what happens! The results are always so pretty and soft. I’ve also tried it over a lipstick or two & loved that as well.
Most used face/cheek product this month? KVD Lock-It Concealer Creme.
Most used eye product this month? KVD Interstellar – rediscovering this one. I didn’t like it so much when I got it, but it is really growing on me. Whenever I wear one of this boring-to-me taupes in the palette, I get compliments and/or just myself consider the resulting eye look to be really flattering and lovely.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light with neutral undertone
Favorite product this month: Too Faced Born This Way foundation
Most used face/cheek product this month: Wet n’ Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Ticket To Brazil

Most used face/cheek product this month? Probably Clinique Innocent Peach (blush)
Most used eye product this month? Definitely the Morphe 35 OM Eyeshadow Palette
Skin tone: Very pale with cool to neutral undertones.
Favorite Product: Chanel Camelia de plumes highlighter. I love love loooove this highlighter.
Most used face/cheek product: Chanel Camelia de plumes highlighter. I am now at my fairest so that is the perfect period to use it as much as possible. I eventually want to use it up… Even though I will be really sad the day I do!

Skin tone/coloring: Light to medium

Most used eye product this month? Eye Tint #11
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium/Tan- NC 40 / Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz
Favorite product this month? Too Faced Hangover Primer
I’ve used many different moisturizing primers over the years, but I see a difference with TF Hangover in how my foundation looks on top of it and how my makeup wears through the day. If you have dry skin – try this! Even if I’m not wearing any makeup at all, I’ll wear this for extra moisture and glow.
Most used face/cheek product this month?
Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation – oldie but goodie!
I like using Mac Studio Fix and a big fluffy kabuki brush for nice natural looking coverage and pulling my face together when I’m in a hurry or just running quick errands. Some might say that this is heavy, and it can be. However, if you use a fluffy, big brush – you can disperse the coverage all over your face for a lighter look that is still put together. I have acne scars on my cheeks, and this is like magic in smoothing my entire complexion. I also use this to set my Nars Tinted Moisturizer on a daily basis, and I love the extra coverage it gives me.
Most used eye product this month?
Mac Teddy eye pencil
This is my go-to everyday eye pencil for my waterline and lash line. I also use a pencil brush and a little light brown eyeshadow to blend Teddy out for a more blown out look.
I am curious about the new Mac kajal liners and will use that next after my Teddy is out.
