WKW for shu uemura: Dance in Glitter False Eyelashes

These are absolutely gorgeous, and I’m working through ideas on the right look to wear them with, because they’re so extravagant, I want something equally extravagant to pair them with! Which leads me to this question…

What would you wear these with?

  1. You know what these lashes remind me of? Being outside when it’s snowing and you get snow all in your hair and lashes. So pretty!

shu uemura do the best lashes. absolutely gorgeous!

  3. jen.

Those are amazing! I’d keep it with something simple, like a LBD, so the focus can be on those fancy lashes.

  4. Silver eyeshadow on the lid, deep green in the crease and outer corners.

  5. Very pretty! I’d probably wear them for Halloween and that’s about it. Halloween’ s the only day when i can look wild.

    Holy whoa. Awesome.

Well, even though the first instinct is “dressy,” I think they’re gonna look a little cheap with a cocktail dress or anything fancier. They’re pretty, but I don’t think they’ll go with a really classy outfit.

    So.

I think you go the opposite direction. I think you pair these with some low rise bell-bottoms, a dark vintage tee, some bright bangles, jewel-toned nails, and you go all out on the eye makeup…but keep color simple. A purple smoky eye, maybe. If you can get away with berry gloss, do it. I think you go slightly funky, a little boho…and those lashes will be smokin’ hot.

Oh, to the contrary! I would wear these with a formal gown in a minute!

Yes, but how often do you get to do a full on ball gown? Im enslaved to costume du rigieur a dozen nights a Winter and after I do hair and get into the dress full of color fancy lashes arent happening! I’m thinking they were created with the classic Little Black Dress in mind. Cocktail dress, no frou frou stuff.

i would wear them with something simple or an grey and black smokey eye with a little bit of mac 3d glitter in the inner corner.

  10. Sylvie

Dark dark dark smokey eyes so that the glitter stands out!

  11. Oh my~! What a lovely color! This is brilliant. i love this~

  12. Anne

Whoa, shiny! I like! I’d actually save them for New Year’s with a glittery dress, too. :)

  13. Soo

these are so pretty! I’d love to see a dramatic silver and blue smokey eye, or maybe something more Christmasy!

  14. KC

I don’t know what I would wear with them, but I definately know where I would wear them: New Year’s Eve 2011!

  15. Dini

Ooooh, these are so very pretty. I think I’d wear these with a light smoky eye done in smoky lavender/mauve, grey, and maybe a blue of smoky blue or slate. Soft pink lip, tiny bit of color on the cheeks… So dreamy!

WOW! Those are so fun – I adore Shu lashes, I think I have 4 pairs. I wouldn’t go too extravagant with the rest of the makeup since it might be going into some trannylicious territory (not that there’s anything wrong with drag makeup – they’re way better at makeup than I am! Just assuming that’s not the look you’re going for!) IBlack liner, something shimmery and light on the lids and maybe a bold lip? Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  17. LH

They are so darn pretty! I would wear those in a heart beat. Please share a photo when you do finally wear them I would love to see it:)

  18. Wow. This is too pretty. Love it. It’s really very WKW!

  19. Yep. To die for. I also love the pleasure rose face powder … and the whole collection

  20. Shi

I’m a huge Wong Kar Wai fan so I’m really looking forward to these lashes! My favorite movie of his is probably 2046, although Chungking Express comes in close!

  21. Wear it with my disco shoes and go dancing to a club. Absolutely gorgious.

  22. I can’t wait to see what you come up with to wear these with!

  23. Heather

I think these would go perfect with a wild halloween mad hatter costume :)

  24. brenda

I can see a black dress, or dark green, with a bit of shimmer or sparkle, not a lot – a messy pile of curls with loose tendrils, minimal jewelery.

The dress is a fitted bodice, knee length or longer.

Makeup is shimmery lid in green or violet, crease up to orbital bone a shade darker – jewel like, clean brow highlight (nothing frosty). Nude-ish mouth like Cherish or hug me…. wish I could paint the picture on here!! LOL

  25. Dorna

I’m thinking Sugarpill! Silvery and cool-toned pigments or winter-themed colors… I have brows on the thicker side (like you), and i’d actually consider covering them up and drawing them in a little bit higher… or using MAC espresso to make them longer and give an illusion of a higher arch.

  26. Wow! They’re really beautiful, perfect for wearing to a party~

  27. Lydia

I might just have to get these for New Years eve!

  28. Raya

    *Drools* Love them!!! I WANT!

  29. Cinnamon Cloud

I’d pair them with a winged eyeliner in the upper lid and a very bright red, plum or fuchsia lip ;)

  30. I’d love to wear this in one of my fairy style coords with an 80′s influence- big pastel teased wig with sparkly pink eyeshadow! Or go the sleeker route and wear this with a more sparkly goth coordinate~

  31. a simple make up so these will be in the spotlight :) Deborah lipmanns stairway to heaven on the nails and outfitwise…a white tuxedo or a gorgeous white dress, the lbd, only in white :) sequins are allowed to be a true ice queen :)

  32. Courtney

Wow, $75 for lashes I’d hardly ever wear? I don’t think so. I could just buy drugstore falsies and apply my own glitter. Also, I don’t really care for the extra long ends either. Meh…
