Is this the same Wong Kar Wai who is the Chinese filmmaker? I absolutely adore his movies, and even though nothing in this connection is calling to me, I’m almost feel obligated to buy something just for him!

Do you know if you will be testing any of these products out? I would love to see reviews or just swatches even since I cannot test these products myself as I live in the US!

I love a lot of Shu products, but I don’t quite understand how they expect US customers to want to buy anything if it isn’t available anywhere in person and we don’t even have access to the full collection on the website…

gahhhh! this is absolutely gorgeous!! such an unexpected collaboration though. but i’m not complaining! 🙂 wkw is one of my faveeee directors… i’m too excited for my own good and my wallet :/

I loveee Wong Kar Wai, especially In The Mood For Love and Chungking Express!

The products look beautiful too, so now I have double incentive to check it out.

This looks amazing, but those palette names suddenly caught my eye. ‘Burning in water, drowning in flame’ could be a HIM reference to their song ‘Under the Rose’? Hmmm.

It’s great to see the collaboration with a director. Makeup and fashion play such an important role in his movies that to me it makes perfect sense. I want a 10 minute long film a-la Chanel to accompany this. Otherwise it’s just teasing in a cruel sense of the word because so far it looks STUNNING! It’s the first collection that captures the magic of holiday to me, while staying right on trend. Chanel and Guerlain’s ads are a bit underwhelming.

Beautiful collection. Want those glitter lashes. Wong Kar Kai- Chinese name with a Japanese brand. How ironic. That would be a big “no no” right after World War II…..my ancester would be screaming in their graves. But it’s 2011, and I am getting the lashes and maybe other stuff too. Just love Shu Uemura…can believe it no longer sells in stores in the US.

To be honest, I had to google Wong Kar Wai to find out who he is. Rarely do I find collections that I feel are truly beautiful however this one I do!!

well it sounds all very cool…i would jump at the chance of buying them if I didn’t read about CRAZY radiation level in Japan in NY times. I’m saying good bye to Japanese products for good.

No palettes or blush for US customers. At this point, I’m not surprised at that decision either. Saves me money from buying it.

Still a pretty collection. Would love to see the lipstick swatches at least.

yikes i thought the $32 pair i bought was steep. i very rarely use lashes more than 1 time.. that seems a bit much.. i really like them though..

why are they so pricey?

Gabe Gomes Avatar

I think the brush set is the one i am more excited for, cause having good brushes is half the way to make a good makeup. But i am also really excited for the glitter mascara (:
