Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. III
Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. III
Sure we’ve all got our different styles (usually not including Carrie-style hotpants and tutus), but just like what we love about NYC, this Book of Shadows is a melting pot of color. The ribbon pull drawer reveals 16 natty eyeshadows, deluxe-minis of our award-winning 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Zero and Ransom, and a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Inspired by the city, its diversity, and the fact that 8 million people each have their own story, Book of Shadows Vol. III is a tribute from the ultimate California beauty brand to the people and stories that make NYC the apple of our eye. The pop-up book-style palette is loaded with hand-illustrated depictions of the city that never sleeps. We give you glitz and glam alongside characters from all walks of life living amidst the LED-lit (yup…this palette lights up!) landmarks we all love.

Ugh, all I want from this is Suspect because it's a PERFECT base/nude color for me. Any idea if it'll come out on its own?
I have heard that the drawer in this BOS III slides out completely. Is that true or is there a malfunction to someones BOS?
Nah, it doesn't. You can rip it out, though, 'cause that's what I always do. It's just glued in a bit - it wasn't hard to pull out entirely.
I just got my BOS III today and the drawer comes totally out on it. I'm not sure if it's bad glue, no glue or designed that way???
I'm already picking looks....ouu Kush actually looks pretty cute, and I LOVE Last Call, I'm glad it's included. (:
for someone who already owns bos 2, which one would you think has more unique / better shades and is more worth getting, the aiw palette or this one? i currently have 2 and the aiw but i'm thinking i could swap it for bos3 or just waste another 50 and have all three, lol
I really like the BoS (including AiW) palettes in general, even if I don't always love all the colors, because they're a good deal. They just are. If you're a UD fan or love colors, they're always worth it. I don't think I'd swap away AiW, if only since it's well worth more than the BoS. But with the AiW palette, I believe all of the shades are permanently available, so.... but yeah!
Heard they're releasing it after Labor Day (this/next week) for preorder. Palette released in October. Any truth to this rumor?
how long will this palette be availiable for? also does anyone know if it has already come out in the uk because i have seen it on the debenhams website but im not sure if it is out or not.
i can't wait for this! i wish they would make another midnight cowboy rides again shadow MINUS THE GLITTER!! it's such a pretty color, but the glitter is so annoying :(
I love it! I came to check the price because I'm wiring the money to my sister since I made her promise on Sunday (last night in NYC I had) to go to Times Square and buy it for me and mail it out!
I'm confused, will the palettes be sold right when the store opens at 10am? Or will the palettes be sold at 1pm when the UD team arrives?
Though I already have the BOS II, Deluxe Shadow Box and Naked palettes from UD, I'm tempted to get this because the colors seem to be on the darker side and would look good on my NC 30/35 skin tone. I just wish UD would quit the impractical and bulky packaging of the BOS palettes; they're cute but such a pain to use, store and/or travel with.
Side note: if all you have are those three UD palettes, the only duplicate colors in the BOS III are Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Smog and Perversion, so getting this new palette might be worth it.
I have to get this palette, especially since I was born and raised in NYC! :D I wish I could get one of the first 1000, but I'm broke from my hauling in July, especially since the Naked palette just came out. :( Glad I'll have another chance in fall/winter tho!
NIce, looks like UD is stepping up the game with the palettes lately, including new shades and different textures. Good stuff. But I'm really disappointed Loaded won't be released as a single shadow, I just saw your swatches and it's sooooo beautiful. Do you know of anything similar from other brands, Christine?
Thanks, this will be like my new "on the hunt for" kind of product. Scouring pigments and swatching like mad. This color is just too pretty.
Naked was my first UD palette and I have only used it once, not sure if that is good or bad? I like some of the colors in this one but not sure about the bright colors...they are pretty but I always gravitate towards neutrals. I love the design though!
I have only bought one UD palette before (Get Baked, nothing too special) and have resisted the urge to buy many others, but I am in love with this! I'm a NYC girl and I'm looving the colors here! If it's coming out for the holiday season, this will surely be on my wish list :D
I must own this. Loaded, Haight and Radium look too gorgeous to pass up (but all the colors look beautiful and right up my alley).
idk if i want it. If it was $40 but I'm not sure about $54....i really really really love Radium though (the bright blue on the bottom row)
so am I reading this right- there's only 4 shades with large, chunky, migrating-all-over-the-place glitter? Hmm...in that case, this one may be coming home with me. Need to cross reference my other UD palettes!
The palette is sooooo cute! I don't know if I want it.. I already have the Alice BoS and the Naked palette. What should I doooo..
I feel like all of the book of shadows are pretty similar....but for some reason I feel I need to collect all of them! This is a must for me :]
Oh, man, I'm definitely getting this one :) I only have five of the shadows in it. Hurray for new shades! And I was just debating getting Haight and Psychedelic Sister, so I'm glad to know I don't need to. And hurray for a larger-sized Ransom! I've been skimping on using my extra-mini version because I'm afraid it'll run out. Although, why on earth they're using Last Call, Maui Wowie and the dreaded Midnight Cowboy Rides Again when they just used them in the Alice palette, I have no idea :P
