The Summer Season: MAC Speed Dial Lipstick
MAC Speed Dial Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly blue-based pink with a golden sheen. It’s an interesting shade, because it has that yellowness to it, that golden shimmer and sheen, but the pink still feels blue-based. I think it’s wearble on both cool and warm skin tones, though, and I love how it’s pink with a gold sheen. Speed Dial has a cremesheen finish, so it’s not one of MAC’s most moisturizing formulas, but I don’t find it drying myself. I like the color pay off of Speed Dial as well–not entirely opaque but nearly so.
Is this the right pink lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

Thanks for the recommendation, Christine! I got this last week and it's surprisingly looks good for my NC35 skin however, I can't help but see the slight blue base. I was advised to stay away from anything blue based bc of my pigmented lips and skintone. Do you know any other pinks like "speed dial"? Thanks :)

Oh it's so pretty! Do you think it looks good on NC15-20 skin with Clinique Bamboo Pink colored lips (when I put that Clinique lipstick on, the color disappears!)

I am NC15-20, it doesn't good baby pink on me at all :(,I also have pigmentd lips though. Try Saint germain, I think it looks great on cool skin tones :D. This colour looks great on you Christine!
Wow, this looks so different on my lips! I'm around nw20 (although i don't find that nw20 really matches me), warm skintone, quite pigmented lips-and on me, speed dial leans a lot darker and more of a hot pink. Lovely, a bit golden and suitable for warm and cool skintones, but nothing milky-nudeish pink about it.:( Looks gorge on You, btw.:)
Christine can u tell me what foundation, primer, or highlighter do U use on the pic for your lip swatch? It looks good, cos I don't do my eyes often, just focus more on my lips. Thx.

it reminds me a bit of Victorian by MAC, don't you think?
It has the same effect, but the color is different (on me at least!).
would you say Speed Dial it's warmer somehow? my only trouble with victorian is that it looks like a pretty cold pink to me...

I loved this color so much that when I went to MAC yesterday to pick up the superglass stuff, I added this to my list! I had to have it after I saw the photos, tried it on right when i got home and i LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
I'm very pale with pink undertones(really cool toned skin). Speed dial on me is a Barbie Pink. Full out medium pink barbie doll lips with a sheen. It's amazing how one colour can look so diff. on various complexions. I love love love this colour!
Christine, I like this color, but I find that MAC lippies are so drying that I never want to wear them. Even if I start the day out with awesome lips, by dinner time they're a flakey mess! What do you think I could do to combat that? I'm lemming so many colors but I'm so hesitant because of the formula! :/ Anyways, great post as always. :)
Do you know what formula you may have tried? MAC has like six or seven different formulas, so maybe it's a certain one.

I own this lippie and haven't really given it any love. I may have to do a double-take after seeing this post. You totally have a special gift for rekindling my love for something that's been neglected in my stash! LOL! Also, what other makeup are you wearing in the full face shot? It's a beautiful look... especially with Speed Dial l/s.
Oh, I wore this today - I did an all pink make-up look! I really like it, although I wish it was a little more moisturizing. It doesn't look as pale on me, it's a fair bit brighter.
I totally just bought this today with C-Thru Lipglass at a MAC counter!! I didn't realize I had already seen it on here this morning!

This reminds me of Bunny Pink from the Playboy collection a few years back. Just without the bunny and the overspray. That's good, cause Bunny Pink is one of my faves!

I'm so happy you featured this! Speed Dial is one of the only light pinks I've ever felt really confident in; usually my lips skew the color unflatteringly, or the color is just too light. Speed Dial, though, is somehow both light(ish) and bright at the same time, and super fresh and pretty on.
How would you say this is compared to Creme Cup? I have that, and I think it's as blue-based pink as I'd like to go.
Creme Cup is a little softer, and it's more muted of a pink.

I bought this one last year and my skin is so fair and my lips are so pigmented (reddish) that this colour actually turns up almost coral on my lips! It is amazing how much lip pigmentation and skin tone can change a lipstick. I do really like this one though. For me, Creme Cup looks on me like Speed Dial looks on you.

This color's so pretty! I really like it, but it may look too pale on me as I'm an NC35 and my lips are fairly pigmented. But I definitely want it, along with Syrup; I heard (or rather read lol) wonders about Syrup from a guru on youtube. How do you like lipstick Syrup, Christine?

I would totally wear it! in fact I want to go get it asap because of this post. I absolutely love cremesheen formula lipsticks and blue-based pinks. So I think this would be perfect for me.
This is one of my favorite lipsticks! It's my go-to light pink! I am super pale, but have fairly deep pink lips naturally, so it's hard for me to find a light pink that covers my lips and doesn't look corpse-y. (Hello Melrose Mood (aka Saint Germain) I'm talking about you!) But this looks nice on me all the time!
I was thinking about buying this shade the other day so thanks for swatching it :D I tried Chatterbox, which I like, but it's a little bold. I'm hoping this would be a more toned down version. Possibly.
This has been one that I've wanted to buy for awhile, that and Hot Gossip. I haven't seen too many good swatches to confirm either though, so I'm glad to see Speed Dial on your website!
