The Spring Season: MAC Nymphette Lipglass
MAC Nymphette Lipglass ($14.00) is a pretty semi-sheer concoction of golden shimmered champagne pink with just a touch of green-gold shimmer. It’s the most affordable dupe of Cle de Peau #2 Lip Gloss that I’ve found, but it is also a lot sheerer (more of a soft pink base, whereas Cle de Peau shows up more a champagne nude with lots of gold). But Nymphette is a beautiful shade in its own right, so I really wouldn’t think about it as “just a dupe for,” but a shade that’s worth buying independent of that. It works well layered on lipsticks but can also be worn alone for a pretty pout. MAC Lipglass is vanilla-scented and one of the tackier glosses on the market, but those are both things I like (hey, tackier lipglosses have a tendency to stay on better!), particularly since MAC Lipglass lasts about three to four hours on me when worn alone.
Is this the perfect glossy shade for you? Would you wear it?
The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

Hi, i totally love your site and it's very informative,. btw, this lipglass is from MAC's High Tea Collection right?,.
I love this lipgloss. Do you know of a shade of lipstick that is the same or similar in color to Nymphette?
love this shade. I enjoy lipglass colors that I can apply without looking in the mirror. like, while walking, talking on the phone, at my desk, in the produce aisle, etc. lol
I LOVE Nymphette. It is my all time FAVORITE Mac lipgloss that I have found so far. I wear it almost every day. It is L-O-V-E, love.
Hi! i really love mac poetic license lipglass but unfortunately this is limited edition and i only got a small tube of it from the ligglass/lustreglass mischeif maker's collection set last year. Christine, any dupes for this colour in the permanent line? Prefer something without shimmer/glitter! Thanks!
Maybe C-Thru, though it's pretty different... you're going to be hard-pressed to find any MAC gloss without shimmer/glitter :(
hmm would 2N from the warm and cozy actually be close? i can still get the items from this collection in my country!
I don't own a lot of MAC lipglasses, but I just ordered about 5 of them yesterday - Nymphette being one of them. So excited!
I love nymphette! I bought it after reading your blog! On me its darker just cuase my lips are more pigmented but I wish it looked a bit more lighter on me. What pink-nude lipglasses from MAC are the best?
So pretty! It looks sorta like Orgasm lipgloss from NARS, which I already have. But, I'll still probably talk myself into buying it next time I go to MAC lol. :)
I don't own any Lipglasses (I don't own much MAC, period) and this is the only shade I've ever considered buying, but $14 seemed a little steep for my budget. However, you may have just swayed me, Christine! It looks like the perfect everyday color & seems to have a lot of fans too.
I was going to buy this pretty lipgloss...until I found out there was a cheaper dupe from Milani. It's a very pretty lipgloss overall.
i wanted to cry whn i saw this i put this on today and also i have 3 extras of the lipglass it is the best ever.. looking at the picture made me realize how beatiful it really it ... lol yeah and it does smell really good
Yay! Wearing this today with UD Naked. Dreamily beautiful but super office-friendly pairing. This gloss makes me so happy. It's just one of those "so right!" colors, y'know? :)
this was the one i bought without even trying and was regretting afterwards but one day i read a combo to wear this here only sweetie lipstick with this one and wowwww i fall in love with this i know i can never go wrong with ur recomm. and yes christine i just recvd. naked lipstick and woww its too good dear even my mom liked it ... thanks again dear
wow christine thanks for quick reply pls tell me how to use mac min. skin finish and what purpose does it solve i just bought the one in medium plus shade it will take time to reach here but to be on safer side m asking u in advance... hahahhah love using makeup these days
You can use it as a highlighter, bronzer, or blush -- depending on the intensity of the color. But for the MSF Natural is similar to pressed powder :) You can use it as a light foundation or setting powder!
Nymphette is one of the first lipglasses I purchased ever a long time ago, and is still one of my favorites.. I am not big on shimmer in makeup, but for this, I make an exeption!
I'm on a nymphette break. I been through over the last years, 3 of them. The MAC rep put me on awhile back because I was trying to find a Moonstone dupe. But it is a great color. I love it and probably will pick it up after I use up my Moonstone minies that I found on the allcosmeticswhole.com site.
Hmmm, very pretty! I rarely wear gloss but I think this is one that I could go for. I adore gold shimmers. Gonna put this and Lychee Luxe on my list. =)
Wearing it today, on top of Creme de la Femme lipstick (to me, this Creme de la Femme is Nymphette in lipstick form)! Lovely on NC42 skin!
Ooh, I B2M-ed for Creme de la Femme just the other day, maybe I should get Nymphette now! :) Btw, Christine, I also got New York Apple and Show Orchid after seeing them on here. ;) I absolutely adore New York Apple, thank you! :)
