MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick
MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick
MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick ($14.50 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light warm beige.” It’s a peach-tinged pale beige-nude with an amplified finish. The amplified finish gives is a creamier consistency, more color pigmentation, and a semi-matte finish. I did find this shade a little on the drier side, so I would recommend prepping lips accordingly (keep the moisturized, exfoliate prior).
my thoughts on the formula: MAC Lipsticks are vanilla-scented but taste-free. I typically get four hours of wear, but some of the lighter lustre and glaze finishes tend to disappear by hour three. Amplified cremes and amplified finishes, however, tend to go beyond four, but with lighter shades like Viva Glam Gaga 2, I expect around four.

final thoughts: The warm undertones are very slight and subtle; they’re not overwhelming, so this nude will still work on cooler skin tones. It’s like a peach version of Creme d’Nude; lighter version of Peachstock. I wish it was more forgiving on lips–perhaps less dry–because it tends to show imperfections on the lips.

Hi Christine: I love all of your posts and pictures; they are incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Could you please tell me what blush you are wearing in the photo where you feature MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick at this web address: http://www.temptalia.com/mac-viva-glam-gaga-2-lipstick-swatches-review-photos/comment-page-2#comments It is gorgeous, and I have been on the hunt for something like it! Thanks so much, Jenn
Will someone PLEASE tell me when Mac will STOP producing/selling the GAGA 2 lipstick?? (so i can make sure to buy more for my stash - before its too late)
Hi, can anyone tell me if this lipstick along with viva glam gaga are permanent. I'm thinking they are. Put in with the other viva glam ones. Just double checking..Thanks in advance girls :)
omg i love this lipstick and lipglass! i havent been able to find a lipstick/lipgloss that is a pure nude on my lips against my skin tone and is silky and glides on when applied (as i have very sensitive lips its had to find) but this is perfect! i will deffo be buying several back ups of this before febuary 2012 - so happy it will be lasting that long!
I just bought this today! I'm about an NC35-37, and it literally matched my skintone, so I looked abit washed out, but I was looking for a lipgloss to pair with out and found Revlon Superlustrous lipgloss in 04 Nude Lustre, and when paired together look absolutely amazing! amazing with smokey eyes, and gives the same kind of effect of the Promo image but for medium-dark skins, very pleased, now one of my fave lip combo's :D
If it's as zombifiying on everyone as it is on you, I'm staying well away from it. It just doesn't seem like a flattering color, in the slightest.
I'm contemplating on this, maybe under a peachy lip liner it would be more my thing. I like bright fun colors, I was in love with both of the viva glam lippies from last year, but I don't really fancy the concealed lips look.
I tried this on with the lipglass and I feel that it could be pretty wearable. (: The makeup artist who helped me out told me that it works great with any lip liner. I picked it up anyway because it helps a good cause and I think I can make it work with mixing it. ^^
Faerie Glen is rosier and doesn't really look like VG Gaga 2 at all, IMO - http://www.temptalia.com/mac-tartan-tale-lipsticks-review-photos-swatches
Viva Glam V is the perfect nude on it's own for any skin tone in my opinion, I use it on a lot of my brides. However, this Viva Glam Gaga 2 works amazing with a liner or mixed with another lipstick shade or gloss. I've been mixing it with Viva Glam VI and it looks hot!!!
Wow, Christine. This lipstick is the perfect nude for you. I love how it looks on you. I bought the gloss today and I love the shade, but I do have to add a medium or darker shade of brown lip pencil in order for it to look like a good nude shade for me. I have a mocha complexion :)
I bought this lipstick & the lipglass yesterday..It's definitely a plus when applying the lipglass over it. I'm an NC42..and i think i pulled it off pretty good ! I was on the lookout for a nude color. I never found a good one. It would either be too pale, dead looking, or just straight up concealer look. But viva glam II i'm in love with. I also purchased the viva glam I in the pink shade..with it being dis-continued after it's done being sold. if anybody is a nc42 ..i'm adding a link to see a photo with the lipstick that i've on. Feel free to look at ladies! Cause wamer tones gals can pull it off too :) http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/179817_1856295529942_1317471795_2120527_7044069_n.jpg
Christine what color are you in MAC foundation so I can get a better sense if this nude will work for me. I am NC30 and your skin color is close to mine. Although I have some yellow undertones. Would this color be to beige on me almost like concealer?
I bought this lipstick yesterday and am in love. It is SO SO SO SO pretty! I am sad its limited. I know it'll be around for a year but still, I can see myself using it forever because it's just that pretty!
I went and bought this today...and it's a beautiful nude for the paler girls (I'm NC10). I thought Peachstock was a bit too orange/stark nude for my liking and this is a wonderful version of that, more muted-nude peach. You do need to pair it with smokier eyes though. Dabbed on, it looks much more wearable/forgiving.
VG Gaga 2 is peachier - no rose - not really comparable to Faerie Glen - http://www.temptalia.com/mac-tartan-tale-lipsticks-review-photos-swatches
not sure about this one....i do love last years beachbound, also nude and peachy and out of my comfort zone but i ended up loving it, are beachbound and gaga similar in colour? (i understand that the formulas are very different :)
I wish this one was available when I was at high school (I can skip class because of the 'pale sick' makeup look) :D
It's gaga so of course I bought it, but it will be nice to have another nude option from Myth, I can't deal with creme d'nude every tube has melted on me! It seems peachier/darker than myth i think, it looks beautiful!
Thanks for the swatches. Was wondering if Peachstock and Freckletone are permanent or limited edition???
Unfortunately it is completely impossible for me to judge how a lip color is going to look on me based on your pictures. My skin is so pale they always end up looking so different. I saw a swatch on another pale lady with cool tones like me and I actually think this color would look good on me. And funny enough, i think I'm learning to guess how the color will look on me based on your pictures, haha.
