MAC Spring Colour Forecast: Lipglasses Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Part 2 of the lipglasses… From these, my favorites were Purple Rage. What are your favorites?
Spring Colour 3 Forecast — Lipglasses
- Purple Rage is a red raspberry with golden shimmer–it’s more red than raspberry, but still not quite red. This is one of the more opaque glosses, and it may have a tendency to bleed when applied alone.
- Lavender Wind is a semi-sheer, kind of milky-creamy pink base with fuchsia and violet shimmer. I feel like I’ve seen this kind of shade from MAC a few times in the past year. It was like a more violet-shimmered Luminary Lustreglass (which I do love, but I think Luminary is better).
Spring Colour 4 Forecast — Lipglasses
- Almondine is a surprisingly opaque white-gold with gold shimmer. On me, this is not exactly a shade to wear alone. This is a color I’d layer over a lipstick to lighten or add more shimmer. Looks kind of like shimmery corpse lips on me when worn alone, unfortunately! I love the pearly look of it, though.
- Gold Dust is a light peachy-orange color base with gold and orange shimmer. This gloss applies pretty sheer on me, just giving me a little bit of color, but mostly I see golden, orange, and peach shimmer.

My favorite of all-time lipglass is lavender wind.. I need this to come back.. it's not for everyone but it's perfect for me!!!!!.. I have no pigmentation to my lips and this shade is perfect! OH MY GOSH :(
Christine, if i should get one of these lipglasses which one would you choose? electric fuschia, lavander whip or gold dust? I want to top it over victorian or lady gaga to warm it. Also something i can use to top my nars schiap to tone it down a little bit. I want to get those three but i'm saving to get show orchid!
Gold Dust would warm it the most :)

I don't really have any warm colored lipglasses like Gold Dust... what would you pair it with, Christine? I just love the gold shimmer... but I'm clueless as to how I would use it.
I'd use it over reds, peaches, corals, or even a pink to warm it up!
Is it supposed to be pronounced Lavender Wind(like the wind is blowing) or Wind(like a winding road)?

I NEED all of them!! Ok, Purple Rage isn't that unique, nor Gold Dust, but very useful..
How would you say that Lavender Wind compares to last summer's Via Veneto dazzleglass? I'm trying to decide if I need Lavender Wind too :)

i'm ready to make the trip to find out how it all looks in person, but i'm pretty sure that purple rage is coming home no matter what. i don't have anything like that and, despite being a pale girl, i looooovvve going dark on the lips. lavender wind seems a little too close to nico, which i already have. i'm surprised at how much almondine is appealing to me.
yeah same here! Almondine looks crazy and paleeee... yet I'm so attracted to the color. Lol

i was planing on getting purple rage because your swach looked so vibrant and preaty but after i saw the picture of it on your lips it looks like it doesn't apply evenly? or is that just me? well im going to just have to see it in person to decide ;)
It could just be my application, too! I do swatch everything as quick as possible so I can get it all up as quick as possible, so it could just be that. I think it's pretty even, though it's so dark, it may take more time to make sure it's even.
would you do a look with a really bright lipstick with almondine over it? I'm considering it for that.

Purple Rage reminds me a lot of Red Romp. I would be very grateful if you could compare these two and tell me if they are similar. Then I could scratch that lipglass from my already to long wishlist. Thank you in advance. =)
IMO, Red Romp is a brighter, truer red!
I already ordered Almondine and Lavender Wind (and springshine ombre blush) thanks to these photos! I love the pale lips, especially when I"m in this icy cold weather! :)
This Purple Rage seems to be the only lipglass that I would dare buy from MAC spring color forecast collection. I see that the color is really vibrant and I really like how it looks on your lips.
How do Cult of Cherry and Purple Rage compare?
Cult of Cherry is definitely more of a bright cherry red, IMO!
Purple Range is actually quite gorgeous because I love the berry shade.
i kind of like lavender wind. purple rage is amazing but it's not a color i can pull off
Purple rage looks more like a "red rage" to me. lol. I don't really wear reds so I think buying this would be a good investment to try out something that isn't as bold as a red lipstick, but I can still make it sheer. It looks gorgeous!
I want gold dust and almondine now. I think Gold dust would be sooo pretty over velvet teddy l/s, (my everyday color). I want so much from this collection... my poor bank account :(

Ooh, Purple Rage is really pretty! Not purple at all LOL. I like Gold Dust too - I imagine it'd look very pretty on top of a lot of lipsticks.
Goldmine is so pretty, it reminds me of YSL's Golden Gloss in shade #1. Gotta get this one too.
ok, so Lavendar Wind was on my wishlist, but now, I'm replacing it with Almondine...I could totally use this for layering!!
Aside from Purple Rage...None of the other lipglasses excite me. However I probably won't get it, since I'm not a big gloss junkie. I'm hoping the pink and coral lipsticks don't disappoint. The ombre's I thought I would like the pink one, but I'm so eyeing the peach one most of those.

purple rage is hot! Though it doesn't look purple at all. Lavender Wind reminds me of Opal lustreglass (DC)

hot hot hot eyeshadow.. is the only thing from this collection so far that has really grabbed my attention.. i might buy that.. but i think my wallet is safe... for now at least!
OH MY GAWD PURPLE RAGE IS GORGEOUS. Okay WOW. Seriously. When was the last time MAC did such a banging lipgloss? I actually kind of like Gold Dust too for the shimmer but I'm trying to stay away from warm colors, I have so many. Lavender Wind...eh, seems like a watered down version of Eclectic Edge (which despite the annoying tube was way better).
