MAC Magic, Mirth, & Mischief Collection
Cremesheen Glasses: Ever So Rich, Boy Bait, Partial to Pink

MAC Magic, Mirth, & Mischief Review: Cremesheen Glasses

If you’ve been in the MAC-know for the past year, you probably remember the original launch of the Cremesheen Glasses. The three released with the holiday collection are all repromotes from that launch, so this is your chance to a) stock up if you loved them; b) try them if you passed on them before; or c) save money because you already have/skipped them. I don’t personally love Cremesheen Glasses, as I find them too sheer to bother (they nearly all looked the same on my lips), but I know others love the formula — which is non-sticky, thick, and creamy.

  • Ever So Rich is a pale lilac that goes on like a sheer, milky pinky-purple.
  • Boy Bait is a sheer pinky-peach. This looks just like a milky nude on me (not particularly flattering).
  • Partial to Pink is a sheer medium pink. Like Boy Bait, this looks mostly like a milky pink on me.

You can view the lip swatches I did originally. These just aren’t my thing, but I also think I’m slightly allergic to these (they make my lips tingle and itch), so there’s even less reason for me to like them. I think Ever So Rich is the only shade that I’d feel compelled to get, but I know that has to do with the way it looks in the tube and not so much on my lips.

  • Product: 24/30
  • Value: 7/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

I will pass on these. I was contemplating getting at least one, (boy bait) b/c everyone was hyping it up. Doesn’t look like much in the tube anyway. Thanks for saving me some money. =0)

  2. glitter princess

think ill be passing not like the colours much!

  3. Anitacska

Not interested in these at all.

  4. Radhika

I love the cremesheen formula but I don’t like the colors they re-released. I’ll probably get Partial to Pink just because I love the formula so much. Wish they came out with better colors :(

  5. I was interested in a few of these, but thankfully that has passed. They just don’t look very appealing.

  6. Chrissy

Definitely will pass on these. I can tell these will settle into lines and also look too milky

  7. I’m glad everyone’s passing on these because that means more for me! lol. I love these!!

Hmm I am on the fence with these. I want to try the formula because I skipped on these the first time they launched but I would have preferred that they are both creamy and opaque.

  9. They’re lovely colors in the tube… but not so much on the skin.

  10. I skipped these. (Yeah I’m saving some $! )I think I could just use some of the low frost lipglasses or a clear gloss over a cream lipstick instead.

  11. kpenn

Thank goodness, something that I can skip!

  12. These aren’t that bad! Boy Bait = LOVE against my NC40 skin, so I had to buy a couple..

I think these would be pretty on top of a lipstick. I am guessing that Boy Bait would look gorgeous over Creme D’Nude and Partial to Pink would be pretty over Blankety — for a pinky nude lip. But by themselves, not that impressive. I will probably end up picking up 1 or 2 of these.

  14. Lorna

if i get one, i would get ever so rich just because i am into lilac colors right now

In the tube “Ever so rich” seems wonderful… is there any MAC product similar in colour but with a more visible finish once applied to lips? I mean, is there a lipgloss or whatever that actually makes my lips lilac?
    Thank you! ^^

    • If you have a MAC Pro near you, you could try Violetta lipstick. It’s more a medium purple though. Christine’s used this one a few times in looks too. You could also take a MAC pigment and mix it with gloss…keeping in mind that the pigment is lip safe.

    • MAC doesn’t really make any, IMO. You might be able to find something by mixing PRO shades, though!

For some reason I thought they were relaunching Petite Indulgence instead of Partial to Pink. Shame, I may have gotten Petite Indulgence, but Partial to Pink is just too pricey for what it delivers. ( I like these a lot, but not enough for the price :( )

  17. Never bought a creamsheen before and I’ll probably be passing on these too. The colors seem too sheer.

  18. I absolutely love these (still have Ever So Rich from the Cream Team launch) and will probably get all of them again! :)

  19. Steph

I purchased Boy Bait at the original release and LOOOOVED it. I ran out pretty quickly, however. I will be purchasing another one while I have another chance :) I love to use it on top of Myth or Creme D’Nude for a creamy, super-nude lip.

  20. Dimitra

I completely disagree with your grading of these, cremesheens are an amazing formula that totally work for me, boy bait is THE beat nude around and ever so rich is a georgous, soft everyday colour.

I think everyone should try these at least once..

    • To each their own, Dimitra! I find these overpriced as far as MAC products go, since you get significantly less than a regular lipglass. I’m glad you like them, and there’s nothing wrong with that :)

  21. Jenny

Awe, such pretty colors. Too bad they show up practically clear (on me at least) *thumbs down* :(
