MAC Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel and Sun Rush
MAC Lustre Drops Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Lustre Drops ($19.50 for 0.60 fl. oz.) are being welcomed into MAC’s permanent range this summer. They will debut and stay in the range beginning April 7th with the Bronze Everyday Collection, which also features Bronzing Powders (most, if not all, already in the line), Skinsheen Leg Spray (now permanent), two Mineralize Skinfinishes (already permanent), and two new bronzing shades of Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (now permanent).
Pink Rebel is described as a “blue pink with gold pearl.” I really don’t see blue-pink when I swatch it (or even just looking at it). It’s a peached, pink champagne with a soft bronze metallic shimmer and sheen. Sun Rush is described as a “peachy bronze with gold pearl.” This is a medium-dark golden bronze with warm undertones and rich gold shimmer and sheen.
Lustre Drops are packaged in small bottles that resemble puff paints that you’d find at any arts and crafts store. To dispense the product, you simply squeeze the bottle and it will push out through the narrow nozzle. In the past, Lustre drops have come in specially colored packaging but this time around, they have the classic black cap. A little goes a long way, especially if you intend to use it only on smaller areas, like the face, squeeze out as little as you can.
P.S. — I’m only reviewing the Lustre Drops and new Mineralize Skinfinish Natural shades (the rest has been permanent or reviewed previously).
Where to Buy: MAC Cosmetics on April 7th
The Glossover
Lustre Drops are, essentially, liquid highlighters. You can use them on your cheeks, brows, decolletage… whatever. You can mix it in with your foundation or moisturizer for an all-over sheen.

Product & Review FAQ
Where can I purchase Lustre Drops? How much is it?
MAC Cosmetics on April 7th in-stores, approximately April 4th online -- $19.50.
Is it limited edition?
No.
hey, i just wanted to ask you if these mac lustre drops are on the permanent line.. will i be able to find them now?? they both look gorgeous on the skin as far as i can tell by the pictures you've taken..
They aren't designed for eyes, so I doubt they have been tested, but you should contact MAC for safety information!
I've been thinking bout getting highlight products. Are these too shimmery for everyday wear? Office looks? Pink Rebel would be my pick, I hope it's not too pink tho?
Do you think that you could use lustre drops as eyeshadow bases? Not necessarily to make your shadow stay on longer, but just give a nice shimmer to the shadows you apply? Or can they not be used on the eye area? xoxo
I'm not 100% sure! I'd probably say to call up a local MAC store or ask online before buying if there are any safety precautions. I threw away my boxes, which is where they now print safety info or else I'd check that!
Hi :D I am a medium skin tone so I was thinking about getting Sun Rush but I wanted to know if these cause your skin to break out especially if you mix it with your foundation? I have sensitive skin and unfortunately some products are better then others for me.
I have light skin with pink undertones. I love the pinker one but do you think that it would look ok with my skin? The other one looks like it may be too dark for me.
These seem really pretty! How do you think these compare to benefit's highbeam, girl meets pearl, that gal illuminators? in terms of texture/blenability and colour; if you have any of those. Thanks for all you do Christine, much appreciated!!
None of them are similar in color, and they are thicker than High Beam. I don't have experience with the other two, sorry!
Christine, which one would you recommend for an everyday natural glow? It seems to me like Sun Rush may be a little too bronze-y, but I would love to have your input! I have light to medium yellow skin tone.
Have you compared these to nars illuminators in copacabana and laguna? I'd be interested in your thoughts!
do you think these would show on darker skin? I bought one last year from To the beach and returned it (I am NC44)
I tried the pink rebel last year cus I had Hush from MAC as my highlighter... and I thought it looks similar but I could be wrong hehe.
These are one of the rare makeup items I had to return...there's just way much better liquid hi-lighters out there.
They look gorgeous!I ask as a liquid highlighter virgin, would they be ok on comb to oily skin? because I really want them:)
I love them but I still have mine from To the Beach collection last year. A little goes a long way and it is hard to finish them. are these Back2Mac?
I have had sunrush for almost a year and still going strong!!! Christine would I need the pen if I had this??? And also I mix it into my foundation how do I apply it Any other way can you demo?? Xx
i got the pink rebel one when it came out with the to the beach collection! i think that it fits my light skin perfectly!!.. whenever i want some natual looking shine on my face i use this one!
