  1. My favorite is the Too Faced Candlelight Glow duo.

    • Stacie

That one is my favorite too! I really love it!!

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Emma Emma

That’s my favorite as well! I’ve tried the MUFE Uplights, Benefit High Beam, and Bare Minerals “Clear Radiance” and was disappointed in all of them. Too Faced is PERFECT.

  2. Erin

    The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

  3. I prefer subtle highlighters so I love Shiseido High Beam White

  4. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Ellen Ellen

I just bought Burberry’s luminous face glow, and it’s amazing! It’s a primer and luminizer, and if you use it over your makeup, it gives such a subtle highlight. Love it!

  5. Nadia

I really like Benefit’s high beam.

  6. My best one is a LE product Guerlain Parure De Nuit Pressed Powder. If I ever work through it will be a sad day.

Second best for me was The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer.

  7. Yellowlantern

I like Benefit’s liquid ones (High Beam and Moon Beam). NARS Albatross is nice too.

    • Devi

High Beam and Moon Beam are the only ones I’ve ever really used.

You will have to pry the former from my cold, dead hands. I nearly spent $15 (CAD) on a Benefit kit that included a mini version just so I had a travel sized one.

  8. Melissa

I have 3. MAC MSF in by candlelight. I purchased 3 at the time and wish I had gotten more. It is the perfect sheen. I also enjoy Nars copacabana illuminator applied with mac 188. I find it similar to Benefit high beam but easier to apply and better looking. I have also recently fallen for MUFE compact shine on in 3. It is to me what I wished Nars Albatross would have been but more pink pearl rather than yellow.

  9. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of MAY May

For an all-over glow I like to mix RBR’s Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Clouds into my foundation and to highlight just certain areas of my face I love Shiseido’s High Beam White.

  10. Sarah

Nars Albatross :) A beautiful highlighter with just a tiny hint of sparkle, and not frosty at all! It’s easily buildable too.

  11. becca

for a more natural brightening kind of highlight i like shiseido’s high beam white. for a more shimmery highlight i like the balm mary lou manizer. for a liquid highlighter i like armani fluid sheers 2 & 7.

  12. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Elle Elle Jaye

I just got one that I REALLY love. Bare Minerals Secret Radiance. Gorgeous! I also like MAC Glorify and Mary Lou Manizer.

  13. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Emilia Emilia

Mac extram dimension MSF in whisper of gilt, I don’t like superb. I also really enjoy nars albatross but it doesn’t work for everyone sadly

  14. I am NC45 and I am having a tough time finding a highlighter that goes well with my colouring. And I am so yellow, it is ridiculous!! I mean, when I don’t know, when I wear blue base colours, like Chanel Dragon on my lips, I turn super fair but super yellow. And when I wear pink like Chanel Jalousie I turn peaches and cream. My skin has a mind of its own.. hahaha, So, as you can see, I am stuck. Help me out lovelies? Please. :)

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Veronica Veronica

I think the gold tones in NARS Albatross are pretty workable across the spectrum, but I think it highlights warm/yellow tones the best because it imparts a golden glow. NARS Orgasm is also well known for being almost universally flattering.

  15. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Caroline Caroline

Powder: Mac Soft & Gentle. Liquid: Benefit Girl meets Pearl

  16. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Cat Cat G

Nars Albatross is really growing on me. I would’ve said Benefit’s Hollywood Glo before (I stocked up before they discontinued) but now I think Nars Albatross has become my fave.

  17. I love LM Mineral Powder. It’s not technically a highlighting product but it works beautifully as one, gives such a natural gorgeous subtle glow. I really want to try Becca Shimmering Skin perfector, as it sounds similarly natural looking

  18. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Amy xamyx

For eyes, it’s Revlon Pure Pearl; for face, it’s NARS Nico & Albatross, or again, Revlon Pure Pearl. The Pure Pearl just gives a nice glow, especially when sheered out.

  19. Shiseido High Beam White and then Nars Copacabana and Albatross. I had great expectaions on Mary-Lou Manizer, but I found it too frosty :(

  20. I have a few and it depends on the level of glow I am looking for. Benefit High Beam works really well on me, but can be a bit OTT for day to day wear. I also have the reformulated Illamsqua Gleam which comes off more subtle. I prefer liquid or cream highlighters. Highlighting powder is not my thing.

  21. Brennan

MUFE’s Compact Shine-On in No. 3. I bought it, thought I hated it, returned it, and rebought it because I decided it was actually exactly what I wanted. I like being able to see the shimmer; I’m not a subtle-type of gal. No glitter, just shimmer, but a lot of it! It’s good.

  22. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of BooBooNinja BooBooNinja

MAC Too Chic. Gorgeous! It’s my only highlighter and I’m content. :)

  23. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Barbara Barbara

I love Benefit’s High Beam and Laura Mercier’s shimmer bloc mosaics.

  24. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Mariella Mariella

For quality and value, I’d have to say TheBalm’s Mary Lou Manizer. I love that stuff and, compared to the Guerlain highlighter I have, it’s a way better value. I also really love MAC’s Strobe cream and Clarins’s Instant Light Complexion Perfector for a subtle all-over glow. Both of these products can be mixed with foundation or BB cream if you wish, or used on their own under or over foundation or entirely on their own.

  25. benefit’s high beam is the only one I have, but I like it. I only use it on my eyes, though.

  26. embeast

Bare Minerals Clear Radiance. For me, a pale redhead, it gives off the most natural, very subtle opalescent glow. I even find that it diffuses imperfections, like the one-inch scar on my forehead from having skin cancer removed. I absolutely love it!

  27. helen

I use a LORAC product called Perfectly Lit and it’s just the right glow (not shimmer or glitter, just glow). I have oily skin and hate anything that would intensify pores or oil and this product is perfect. I don’t seem to see it mentioned all that often. Worth a look IMO.

  28. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Jasmine Jasmine

Benefit’s Watt’s Up gives an amazing glow and doesn’t have any noticeable glitter or shimmery bits. I’m pretty pale, though, so the champagne color of it can start to look too orange if I use more than a little.

  29. ak

boots no 7 skim illuminator, becca shimmering skin perfector or mac strobe cream…it depends on the ocassion or look.

  30. Pri

Dior Shimmer Star in Amber Diamonds! By far the best i’ve ever used. A pricey product at $44 but theres so much product, I doubt i’d ever need to buy another!

  31. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Veronica Veronica

I actually love all of my highlighters, but I admit NARS Copacabana is the one in my collection that makes me go :D every time I put it on. It just imparts such a lovely, ethereal glow. I owe Kafka one for convincing me it was a must have. :P

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Kafka Kafka

WOOOOOOOT!!!! Veronica!!! I read this and almost keeled over! You made my day. I’m so thrilled you loved it. It’s really special, isn’t it? (And so much better than the Illuminator liquid version which really should have a totally diff. name as it is a completely diff. colour, imo). “Ethereal” is damn right. I can’t believe you waited so long to tell me this. LOL. Hurrrrrrrrah for more Copacabana love! :D

      • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Veronica Veronica

*sheepish* Well, actually, the liquid version is what I own, BUT! I am very cool toned and fair, so that’s why I tried it first. However, I really did love the more intensely silver finish on the multiple, so I think I’m going to wind up grabbing that, too, especially since it’ll be easier to haul around with me. (I was waiting to see if the one in the Warhol collection was worth the money, but since that wound up being a total glitter bomb, I turned my sights back on the multiple!)

  32. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Anne Anne

I haven’t tried a lot, but I LOVE my Guerlain Cruel Gardenia, which I found on sale last year!

  33. Though it was worn to be kind of a Terracota and not a highlighter, my first, last, one and only love is Guerlain’s summer 2011 limited edition Terra Inca. It’s just gorgeous as a higlighter, on my fair skin with a tan. Just look (and feel) as a goddess when I wear this. I can’t imagine what will replace it when it’s finished…

  34. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of TA K

Dior’s Amber Diamond and Lorac’s Perfectly Lit are both worth a look. Lorac’s Perfectly Lit has such a soft buttery texture and honestly, it doesn’t get enough hype!

  35. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Adelita Ade

Benefit High Beam/Sun Beam (depends on your skin tone & undertone) and Meow Cosmetics Crystalline Cat Glow. I think the best highlighter is the one that gives you subtle glow/sheen. No shimmer, no sparkle.

  36. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Pami Pami

I have cool/pink toned fair to light skin. Benefit’s High Beam is the most flattering on me.

For extra gleam, I reach for Smashbox Softlights Pearl (discontinued). It requires a very light touch!

For the most subtle of all, I use Edward Bess.

I thought I’d love Nars Copacabana, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, and BareMinerals Radiance (I have several of them), but they just don’t seem to work well on me.

  37. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Karen kp

I am all about MAC’s Whisper of Gilt and MSF in Refined to use as my highlighters. Armani Liquid Sheers are pretty amazing too!

  38. Mimi

Burberry is the best! Creamy, soft and flattering glow doesn’t show up wrinkles or other imperfections and mixes well with foundation for a softening look with looking oily, shiny or greasy. It’s just right for multiple purposes.

  39. I COULD GO ON FOREVER ABOUT HIGHLIGHTERS!!

I am a highlighter junkie and even dedicated a post for my HG MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt on my blog!
I’m fairly warm toned so I like to go for gold/champagne colored ones like theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, Benefit Watt’s Up!, NARS Albatross and Hungry Heart, Josie Maran’s Argan Illuminator… the list could go on forever…

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Veronica Veronica

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of brush do you find works best with the MAC Skinfinish highlighter? I’ve been experimenting with different brushes all week with it, so I’d be curious to know what other people use.

      • Miss J

Butting in here, so I hope neither of you mind… With the MAC highlighter, I have been using a duo fibre fan brush to apply then have been blending/buffing with a natural fibre brush.

        • Sunny

I agree, if you’re from the US–Sonia Kashuk (target) makes a great duo fiber fan brush for a reasonable price!

      • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Lisa Lisa

I generally just use a real techniques contour brush (from the core collection) or even my mac 109, although the 109 can be a little big sometimes. If i could afford it, would love to use a mac 188/130 with it!

        • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Amy xamyx

@ Lisa Sonia Kashuk has a small duo-fibre brush that is said to be comparable to the MAC 188. I’ve never used the MAC brush, but I have several Sonia Kashuk brushes, including the duo-fibre fan, large & small brushes, and I use them all the time.

      • Honestly, I just use my fingers to apply it! Using my fingers I have control on how much is applied and it definitely looks more natural when I blend out the edges that way.

        • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Emilia Emilia

          i use a 168 mac brush and i get great results i don’t really the 109 brush

        • Monica!

oh yes, I love to use my fingers to! so I can place the product exactly where I want it and kind of warm it up and blend onto the skin. I find this gives the most natural finish, whether be cream or powder.
I have a lot of highlighters, I can’t get enough of them!
I just wish I could get my hands on the ones from Becca and Rouge Bunny Rouge

          • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of BooBooNinja BooBooNinja

Oh my goodness — I would *love* to try the Becca and RBR liquid highlighters too. :) I hope we both get a chance soon!

        • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Veronica Veronica

Hnn, I didn’t think to try my fingers! I’ve been told that can harden products due to the oils in the skin, but I did swatch it initially with my finger and noticed it picked up a lot of product. Thank you (and everybody else) for the response, though. I’ll have to try some of these suggestions and see how they work out. :)

  40. Cintia

    I love Benefit’s Watt’s up!

  41. Jessica

    I love Benefit’s Sun Beam. :)

  42. IZ

I love NARS Albatross- looks amazing on my skin!

  43. joyce

My favorite is the NARS Multiple in Luxor, an iridescent pale pink pearl. The other Multiples are very pretty too (my second favorite is Maldives) but Luxor gives a softer, glowy finish without obvious sparkles.

  44. Miss J

I have a serious weakness when it comes to highlighters; I find myself wanting all of them, lol. Liquids, creams, powders…I can’t get enough…it’s probably a problem. :P

For liquid, I really love Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector. It’s so lightweight, and it just adds this lovely sheen/dewy look. It can be worn alone, under, over, or mixed in with other base makeup. The only thing I don’t like about it is the price, heh. It’s $40 something for about the same size as many foundations. It lasts forever, but it still feels like a lot for highlighter.

For cream, I find myself kind of blanking, lol. The two that come to mind immediately are MAC CCB and Benefit’s Watts Up. I like both, but I can’t say I’m over the moon with either. The Benefit highlighter moves too much on my skin. I find CCB’s stick really well on my skin, but for whatever reason, I just feel lukewarm about them. Edward Bess makes their cream highlighter, which is called All Over Seduction; I haven’t tried this much, but it did seem to be a nice, very subtle highlight. Didn’t think it was worth the price, though. Basically, I still haven’t found the perfect cream highlighter.

As for powder, there are SO many that I’ve tried and love, but my top are NARS Albatross and Dior Amber Diamond. Now, if I could cross the two, that might just be my perfect powder highlighter, LOL.

  45. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Kami Kami

Dior Amber Diamond. Can’t express how much I love that stuff. It gives such a nice glow to the face and don’t see chunks of glitter on. Benefit High Beam has been a favorite too. However since I bought the Dior it’s the only one I’ve been using.

As for creamy highlighter I’ve been using Diamond Luminous Pearl Beblesh Balm from Skin79. I guess they describe it as a BB cream however I think it’s meant as an illuminator more and it’s what I’ve been using it for. It’s really light, blends easily and not too much glitter.

  46. Elle

This is not a high end product but I love L’Oreal Magic Lumi Primer. It makes a great liquid highlighter. I’m a yellow toned NC50 and it is really just impacts a soft sheen.

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of chris chris

I am also NC50. I am going to try that.

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Inday blkrox

I’m a neutral leaning NC 20 – 25 and I really like this product as well! My skin is too oily to use it as an all over primer but it gives such a beautiful subtle glow on my cheek- and browbones under my foundation.

  47. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Janeen Janeen Arias

Only highlighter I have purchased was the Benefit Watt’s up, after you gave it an A or A+, Christine. :) I love it, don’t use it as much as I should. I apply it using a real techniques stippling brush by swirling the brush all over the highlighter then dabbing it on my cheek bones, building up if I need to.

  48. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Sarah Sarah

I love my Becca pressed shimmer powder in Nefertiti.

  49. Adriana Dantas Pereira

Benefit Sun Beam and MAC MSF Soft and Gentle!

  50. Kris

Chanel Pearl Glow Powder – Le Blanc Collection. It contains tons of pearly gold micro-shimmer shows up as pearly soft beige. It adds a lovely soft pearly sheen to the skin that almost has a wet-effect.

  51. Larissa

    Too Faced Candlelight Glow :D

  52. lydia

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector! I never used to use highlighters but I love this one so much I use it everytime I put on makeup. My skintone is medium with yellow undertones and I use Opal everyday and Topaz for special occasions or if i want to look slightly more tanned.

    • rena

      Hi Lydia,
What do you think of Opal? I bought Moonstone instead (I am a NC25), I am concerned that it is too similar to my skintone but I dont want the too highlighted look anyway. Not sure if I should have gone Opal instead.

      • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of BooBooNinja BooBooNinja

Rena, how would you say Moonstone shows up on your skin? I’m a slightly yellow NC20/25 and I was thinking that Moonstone might be the one for me. I’m also a fan of the subtle, je ne sais quoi highlight-look.

  53. I finally found my HG: Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight which is perfection minus the price if you are looking for the perfect gleam that doesn’t add any color like most highlighters do which lean too pink or yellow or silver. I also really like using Maybelline eyeshadow in vanilla frost as a highlighter, its cheap and works great!

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Ellen Ellen

I just bought this after trying it out at Space NK – so soft! It reminds me of the Le Metier de Beaute eyeshadows, which are quadruple-milled, and are SO buttery!

    • Robin H

Wow. I just now decided to try my old Maybelline vanilla eyeshadow as a highlighter. Then literally five minutes later I happened to read this. Funny! It’s not bad at all though.

  54. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Lisa Lisa

NARS Luster. Although, it’s considered a blush on deeper skin tones it gives a wonderful glow and highlight.

  55. Sunny

I am just obsessed with my Dior Amber Diamonds. I have tried many before and after that one, and haven’t found anything else to give me such a gorgeous subtle, glow–almost ethereal. I’m pretty curious to try the Diorskin nude shimmer powder, looks so pretty!

My second pick and definitely worth mentioning especially for the price is Hard Candy baked bronzer in Tiki. Amazing!

  56. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Jenna Jenna

I’m a sucker for Benefit’s sunbeam. I have a paler complexion, so the sun beam also doubles as a bronzer for me without being too dark. Also love Bemefit’s Watts Up!

  57. Lily

    I love TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer!

  58. rena

    1) Revlon used to do one which is lovely, its a Vit C infused Highlighter but it has been discontinued many years ago:( ever since that, I havent been looking for one till I found the ones below:

    2) The Balm Mary Lou Luminizer is by far one of the best powder highlighter

    3) Becca Shimmering Perfector, I got this in Moonstone thanks to Lisa Eldrige’s videos :) love the subtlety

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of yale yale

Totally second you! I have been a big fan of theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer & Becca Shmmering Perfector (but in pearl). I am so gonna get my hands on Moonstone :)

  59. Lana

Dior Poudre Shimmer in #2 Amber Diamond hands down! Can’t go wrong with this product.

  60. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Denise S. Denise

I love Nars Gold Member cream blush as a highlighter. It looks great on my golden yellow skin tone, think I’m about a NC50. I also use MAC’s extra dimension skin finishes in superb and whisper of gilt. I like Laura Mercier Rose Rendezvous when I want a more bronze illuminator.

  61. This is sort of a loaded question….

For a liquid with a noticeable appearance Benefit Highbeam, but for a more subtle glow “Girl meets pearl”

Then of course you have powders, the one I reach for the most is Mac “Silver Dusk” but if I want something warmer or a bit more subtle then I go for Nars “Hungry Heart duo (1)”

I didn’t realize until answering this question what a complex thing highlighters can be! LOL

  62. charlotte

My favorite is Physicians Formula Happy Booster powder in translucent. It’s very subtle, just the right amount of shimmer.. and it’s also very neutral so it looks nice with any color I may be wearing.

  63. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Amanda Amanda

If you’re darker, the Balm’s Betty Lou Manizer is awesome. Not so good as a bronzer but it’s tremendous as a highlight!

  64. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Glamorous1125 Maribel

MAC limited edition candlelight ! Love it! Hope it becomes available again in the near future before I run out!

  65. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Christine Christine85

For a golden highlight, I use TheBalm Betty Lou Manizer. For a pinkish highlight, I use Philosophy Amazing Grace shimmering face powder.

  66. Jenny

Nars- Copacabana is my desert island product of choice. It’s universally flattering and looks gorgeous right above your cheekbones. Burberry fresh glow is also amazing if you prefer liquid formulas. This works well layered underneath foundation or mixed in with tinted moisturizer.

  67. Tinkerbell

i have only tried one till now & that’s Thebalm Mary Loumanizer…works beautifully on my yellowish fair skin tone :D

  68. dimpy

Well I have 03 that are my HG products:
    – Revlon Skin illuminator Spa in Bare light- Totally cool for day wear and no shimmer
    – MAC Snow Globe (LE) which is fine for evening wear
    – Guerlain Teint Idore Perle which is an all time fav!

  69. Frckls

    NC30-35. Boots No7 Illuminating Lotion.

  70. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Ruca Ruca

MAC Shimpagne & New Vegas are at the top of my massive list, which I will abridge. Shimpagne is like a beige version of New Vegas, which is an incredible yellow-gold. Best applied with a 188 (or a reasonable dupe).

Guerlain Cruel Gardenia is rather amazing, too, but very subtle.

MAC’s Pink Porcelain is stunning if you get your 188 wet first and then apply it like that. Without the damp brush though, it’s sort of a dud.

Last, I really love the Too Faced By Candlelight (even more than MAC’s MSF by the same name).

My list may betray this, but I have an MSF collection that is nearly complete, and it is really difficult to name favorites of the collection. They last forever, and never let me down!

  71. Mary Beth

I recently purchased It Cosmetics Hello Light Illuminating Powder, and I am LOVING it! I’ve received many compliments, and my make-up artist friend just ordered the powder for use on her clients after seeing me wear it.
I also use the Edward Bess Quad Royale, which doubles as a blush for me, and Guerlain Meteorites is always around when I tire of the other products.

    • Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of BooBooNinja BooBooNinja

I really wish IT Cosmetics was available in-stores so I could swatch this highlighter. I read a glowing review on it and it’s made my head turn more than once. What kind of finish does it have on you? Does it compare to anything else MAC or otherwise (so I could get an idea of what it might look like in person)?

      • Mary Beth

        Hi BooBooNinja,

It is a shame that IT Cosmetics is not sold in physical stores, other than Henri Bendel that is, because I’m am also in love with their Brow Power product.

I would say that Hello Light gives me more of a golden sheen than anything else, definitely no glitter or large shimmery particles here. The illuminating powder just gives me a nice healthy glow…I even go so far as to use this powder as an all-over face powder on top of my foundation.

As for comparable products, maybe something like Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight Powder or Guerlain Meteorites. As for MAC, there was a powder in Barbie collection that was pinker but gave a similar finish, I believe, but it is very hard to find. The MAC mineralize powders are nice, but they will have more of a glittery/shimmery finish.

Also, just a side note, I have recently swatched this on a couple other skin tones. I know it works well on me, but I’m very fair. The powder also looked beautiful on a friend with a medium skin tone, but another friend with a dark skin tone really did not care for the product as it went ashy on her skin.

        I hope that helps!

  72. Dior Amber Diamond is my all time favorite!

  73. Lark

Oh what a question! I have a drawer full and love every one of them. I’m pale and blue, so I have a fascination with gold. MAC Soft n Gentle MSF gives me a metalic warm glow, it sculpts, it’s brilliant! I also have a duochrome loose powder by di Borghese I love. Very disco, maybe tawdry, but it’s so fun!

I don’t really need to highlight; but shiny powders? I love them!

  74. I like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks. I have three of them and I think my favorite is 24K Shimmer Brick. My 2nd favorite would be the Wild Rose Shimmer Brick from the Rose Gold Collection. I have dark/deep skin tone and both of these “bricks’ look really good on me.

  75. Dana_F

Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color WT905 High Beam (White) is the best thing i’ve ever tried! Doesn’t make my skin shine as if its oily, which is quite a common flaw of many other highlighters. Its inside-out shine is something special
For darker skin tones I’d recommend Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color BE206 Soft Beam (Gold) which is a bit too yellowish for the fair-skinned, but absolutely perfect for tan skin

NARS Copacabana in Multiple form. Utterly perfect, especially when put UNDER foundation. (The Illuminator is totally different, imo, and not just because it’s a liquid.) After that, NARS’ Albatross powder which I’ve really grown to like. A lot! I’m a bit surprised by that, truth be told. But nothing will ever equal — let alone surpass — my beloved Copacabana. One of my few HG products. They’ll have to pry that out of my cold, dead hands!

I swatched the multiple version the other day, and you weren’t kidding about the difference. They’re almost like two completely different shades! Far more neutral and silver than the pinker liquid version.

I’ve read about half of the comments and I can’t believe no one has mentioned any pigments! (Having said that, my skin can appear quite…dull so I like my highlighters to be FULL-ON!) MACs Vanilla is great as well as Melon. If I want super highlighting I’ll go for MAC Reflects Pearl! Someone else has said that Mary-Loumanizer is too frosty for them, and I agree. I loved it at first but…I’m over it. I also use a Gorgeous Cosmetics eyeshadow for work called Champagne. Really nice, like TheBalms but a white glow and is more natural looking.

I use Benefit high beam mixed into my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer every day and also use NARS copacabana multiple on my cheekbones every day (along with a dab in the center of my bottom lip over my lip gloss).
