Clarins Rouge Pridge: Lilac Pink
Clarins Lilac Pink Rouge Prodige Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a lilac-kissed pale pink with a subtle glossed shine and semi-opaque color. There is a faint sprinkling of micro-fine white shimmer. This is just one of those shades that is way too easy to wear often, because it looks natural but still more color than my natural lips yield on their own.
my thoughts on the formula: Rouge Prodige has a shiny, glossy finish, and it doesn’t feel like the traditional long-wearing lipstick does. There is nothing drying about it when you apply it, because it applies like a thin gloss or a gloss/lipstick hybrid. The color pay off is excellent, though, and really delivers opaque color with a lightweight feel. It doesn’t transfer much when drinking from a glass, but for whatever reason, the wear doesn’t extend past four hours. It is a comfortable lipstick to wear, because it doesn’t cling or dry lips out. There is a faint sweetened berry scent that is detectable but not overpowering (and doesn’t read synthetic or syrupy sweet), and there was no noticeable taste.

final thoughts: Though it is a cooler-toned shade of pink, it works well on warmer complexions (try pairing it with purples and plums), in addition to naturally complementing cooler skin tones.

Product & Review FAQ
Where can I purchase Lilac Pink? How much is it?
Nordstrom, $24.
Is it limited edition?
No.
Any dupes?
It is similar to MAC Angel Lipstick and Lancome Love It! Lipstick--both are a touch pinker.
OMG, i have this and it is amazing, really pretty lilac colour and looks lovely with lipgloss on top
So pretty! I am loving all of these glossy lipsticks coming out! It kinda reminds me of Chanel Darling (which I missed out on) -- maybe a bit more lilac? What are you wearing on your eyes? love it :)
What blush are you wearing? It complements the lip color so nicely. Youre real good at pairing colors
it looks nice on you but its too blue based for me, i love those colours on other people but on me they look very un-natural.
Yes, that is the formula name, which is what is listed here? I'm sorry - I'm confused about your comment!
this is so gorgeous on you!!! love love. hope you make good use of this, hopefully the california weather cooperates and warms up a bit, it's so darn cold! also, im dying to know what you're wearing on your cheeks, please share =]
I. want. this. Sorry for the dramatics lol, this just reminds me so much of MAC's Way to Love, which is my all time favourite light colour. I must try this!
I love this lipstick, bought it on its release last year. Its so hard trying to find a lilac based lipstick, loads of plums.
last time I saw the rosewood review and went to buy one! I absolutely loved the texture of these lipsticks. I like lipstickes that are little bit dryer, like CLE DE PEAU extra rich, ROUGE D'ARMANI and etc, so the colors on your lips won't move around too much! (they don't dry your lips either!)I also find that dryer lipsticks often have more stain power then those overly moisturizing ones. I would totally recommend Clarins Rouge Prodige to people!
This looks like it would look old ladyish in the tube but it looks so good on you! I think I might get this one!
I seriously never would have known about so many products out there if it wasn't for this blog! I was unaware of Clarins lipsticks till now... I love the color of this one and can't wait to purchase!
This color looks nice, I love a nice pink lip color. Christine, do you have any advice on how to wear a pink lip that wont make my teeth look weird and yellow? :/ I don't smoke but I feel like my teeth look REALLY bad when they aren't :/ :(
Try bluer-based pinks - the blue will help to whiten teeth while yellower pinks can make teeth appear yellower.
I've got that lipstick in Redwood and plan on getting the one you reviewed - the Lilac Pink - when the next Clarins promo is on. I quite like it but, like you, don't find as long wearing as I was expecting. The trade off, though, is it isn't that horrible, drying formulation that requires frequent reapplication of the glossy top coat.
not a bad pinkish alternative to a nude lip. rather sheer and pale for my taste but would look lovely on many women. (I like the rose/berry/wine/plum/mauve/rosewood shades most appealing-- ie amsterdam, brooklyn, rich currant, black wine, berry rich, rosewood)
