Sunscreens: Supergoop! Sunscreen Swipes
Supergoop! SPF30 Sunscreen Swipes ($10.00 for 8 wipes, $34.00 for 40 wipes) are ultra convenient wipes loaded with sunscreen to ensure that you are never without sun protection. Â I like these for their convenience, and if you carry around a big bag, they are great to stash in (the travel-size pouch, in particular) for any impromptu day-trips. Â The formula is lightweight, non-sticky, and absorbs so, so quickly. Â If you’re familiar with makeup removing wipes, these are very similar–just moistened with sunscreen. Â It also includes green tea extract to help calm the skin. Â There is no distinct fragrance really, just a vague, subtle smell of sunscreen but it’s very, very light and only apparent when I sniff the wipe itself. Â I would still opt to use regular sunscreen (less waste, more affordable), but the convenience of these is worth having a pack or two for those on-the-go moments or when you’re running really, really late and can’t wait for your normal sunscreen to sink in.

final thoughts: Super, super convenient! Â If you’re someone who has trouble applying sunscreen (greasy, doesn’t dry down quick enough, etc.), you might want to try these to get you into the habit. Â They also work well for reapplication during the day. Â I have also heard from friends that these are excellent for children (Supergoop! says these are appropriate for ages 6 months and up).

This is a great idea, especially for people who don’t want to carry a bottle in their bag. It’s a perfect idea for parents that want to use it for their children. It’s easy, convenient and less messy!
This sounds like a great convenient idea. But a little pricey for me. $10 for 8 wipes? I can grab a bottle of sunscreen from the drugstore for that price and it’ll last me much longer than 8 applications.
You are paying for convenience most definitely – which I think I mentioned in the post but let me know if I did not 🙂
No argument at all here in regard to the price of these towelettes, though I agree with Christine that you’re mostly paying for convenience. I did want to point out, though, that if you’re applying the correct amount of sunscreen lotion (1oz for the entire body) then the typical 8oz tube would last exactly as long as a packet of 8 wipes (assuming one wipe covers the whole body) so these may not be as exorbitant in price as they seem to be.
What do you do for sunscreen reapplication during the day when you are wearing makeup and foundation? I suppose most sunscreens have physical rather than chemical blockers and reapplication is not as critical, but since I have started wearing foundation I am not sure what to do.
I usually don’t reapply unless I’m going outside for long periods of time!
What a cool idea! I might have to pick these up.
Does 1 wipe cover your whole body or just your face? I’m going on a trip soon and these would be much better then lugging bottles of sunscreen around.
These are smaller wipes, so it wouldn’t cover your whole face, but the larger packages of these would probably be enough.
Would it give the same protection as normal sunscreen?
If applied properly, yes!
Nope won’t be buying anything called super goop. IMO a small bottle of sunscreen is quite convenient 🙂
Could you use these on your face?
Yes!
Very expensive, compared to a bottle that will last you the entire summer. I understand you are paying for convenience, though. I like the spray-on sunscreen because it dries quickly. It’s a little more expensive (not compared to these), but it lasts me all summer and is super convenient!
Hmm, a bottle would only last me maybe 6-10 uses (the average bottle) – 1 oz. per use! We go through sunscreen pretty quickly here (lotions, sprays, whatever) if we’re doing outdoor activities (otherwise it’s just face/neck and possibly shoulders) and need to use sunscreen on the body, too (legs and arms and the like). I think we easily go through half a dozen or more!
Oh wow! See I’m not an outdoor person, so this is probably why I don’t go through a lot (I just spray face/shoulders/arms).
I agree. I go through sunscreen like crazy, especially when I’m at the beach. If only one bottle lasts you all summer, you are definitely not using enough lol.
Great idea! However it’s the price that kills it for me haha. Having two kids and living in a tropical area we would probably spend about 100 a month on these. Thank you for your review though!
I love sunscreen here in Asia the concept has already been created with Korean skinfood skincare green coffee sunscreen wipes spf50. I love those! Very convenient
I love the idea of these. I am notorious for forgetting to put on suncreen before I leave the house, and I don’t like to carry it with me because I’m paranoid that a bottle could leak in my purse. Having these would help me! I don’t like the price, but I am hoping that maybe some other brands will pick up on it and the cost will go down. Great idea!
I love this idea. I don’t spend a lot of time in the sun or at the beach, so these would work for me. Gosh knows it would be simpler to just run a wipe over my body rather than try to get an even application of sunscreen. Love the fact that it doesn’t use chemicals either.
I wish I could afford this! The affiliate link above sends you to Nordstrom’s site, not Sephora. Don’t know if that makes a difference, just thought you would like to know :).
They seem like a great, convenient idea for occasional use or sunscreen touch-up/reapplication during the day … however I would be quite worried that you would not get a sufficient amount of sunscreen from these wipes. We all (should) know how important it is to not just wear sunscreen, but to apply *enough* with each application to get the intended SPF rating … especially for something containing zinc, a physical sunscreen, I’m having a hard time seeing how you’re going to be getting enough on your skin when it comes on a wipe!
This is such a great idea, I hope this is the way to the future.
I love these…we’ve used them before and agree they are most handy when you’re running around and don’t have a bottle of lotion with you. Thanks for the reminder I need to pick up a new pack soon!
I think in some cases this would really be ideal 🙂 I know when I drive up to Lake Tahoe that the difference in elevation will make any bottle of sunscreen I own, explode. So having these Supergoop swipes would be helpful, they would also be nice for a hike.
Hi christine i know this is a random question but still regarding skiincare.. i know you’ve reviewd the clarisonic system.. i recently bought the clarisonic mia a month ago.. i just wanted to know if you ever broke out from it? because its been 3-4 weeks for me and i’m still breaking out.. just wanted to know your thoughts on it.
thanks you
I didn’t, but you might be exfoliating too much!
I would buy these for trips, like vacation and traveling where carrying liquid is not ideal, but they are only 30 SPF!!! that’s not very much, and for the price I’d like my skin to be well protected
