Zoya Suri Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

A Decadent Royal Purple

Zoya Suri Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “royal purple metallic.” It’s a rich, royal purple with violet and amethyst micro-shimmer. I couldn’t recall anything from past reviews that compared that closely with this shade. China Glaze Fault Line has similar coloring, but it’s a crackle polish. Zoya Mimi would be the next closest, though it’s a bit more blue-based and has much larger shimmer. Do you have any dupe suggestions? I’d love to hear them!

This shade was fully opaque in two coats, and the formula was wonderful; not too thick, not too thin. It flowed evenly and fluidly across the nail while delivering rich color. There are ultra faint brush strokes only visible in the brightest of light , and they’re still rather subtle then.  The drying time was average, and it dried down to a somewhat shiny finish, though a top coat is a must for a truly glossy finish. Zoya typically wears a full week on me with minor tip wear but no chipping.

Now I’m kicking myself for not grabbing it when they had the BOGO promo. I thought it was similar to something I had, but looking again, definitely not. SO pretty!

I’m having a purple nail polish phase. I think a Minnesota Vikings fan is out there cackling with glee. (Hardcore San Francisco 49ers fan here. Football is third only to God and family in my house.)

Anyway, Zoya always hits home runs with their purple nail polishes. Out of the 5 purple nail polishes I have, 4 of them are Zoya. Some of Zoya’s purples look like siblings. Suri looks a few tones away from Zoya’s Jem and Carly. This looks really close to A-England’s Avalon and Butter London’s HRH, too.

Jem and Valerie are dupes and based on Christine’s pic (linked in response to my question about Valerie and Carly) shows that they are quite different. I have Valerie and Carly and those are REALLY close, so I had been afraid to get this color because I didn’t want 3 nearly identical polishes… But it’s back on my list for the next BOGO!

How does this compare to Zoya Valerie and Zoya Carly (the shades are near-dupes for each other). Is this shade bluer whereas the other two are redder?

ARGGGGGGGGGGG!!! I want to kick my tuchas and conk myself on the head!! I passed this up during the last BOGO promo!!! I thought a Spoiled colour I have, Checkin’ Into Rehab was a close dupe. I was WAYYYYYY off. I’m adding this to my Zoya Wishlist.

This is a delish shade. I did not think I would really see the teal blue flecks translate to the nail except in super bright light and then only if I had my hand inches away from the old eyeballs…but gladly it does come across as more than a purple with something in it long as I AM in good lighting that is.

I love it! I am a big Zoya fan, started using it through Birchbox samples. That last photo shows the micro-shimmer so perfectly–thanks for that, Christine. I really like the name Suri, too. Now I can never name my kid Suri because of tabloids, but my polish can have the name.
