Zoya Julie Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
Zoya Julie Nail Lacquer
Zoya Julie Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) Is described as a “full-coverage, soft, wisteria purple metallic”. It’s a light-medium lavender with neutral undertones and a delicate white shimmer. Essie Bangle Jangle is darker and grayer, plus it is a cream. Essie Nice is Nice is pinker and a cream. MAC Little Girl Type is lighter and cooler-toned, and it is also a cream. Nubar Purple Aster is grayer and has very fine shimmer. Zoya Marley is also grayer and has very fine shimmer.
This shade applied beautifully–no streaking, bubbling, or pooling–and there was no trouble with brush strokes showing, despite its metallic finish. It was mostly opaque in two medium coats of polish, and the shimmer distributed evenly. The consistency of the formula wasn’t too thick or too thin (consistent with Zoya’s formula, which is slightly thicker than average). Julie seemed to have a slightly quicker drying time compared to the average polish. I typically get a week of wear out of Zoya’s polish with minor tip wear but no chipping.

Love it..!! A must this summer..!
And for spring!
I second that – a perfect spring color!
Oooh, the subtle sparkly effect is so pretty! Almost looks like mother-of-pearl. But then in lilac 🙂
Right? It has such a pearly effect.
This is perfect! I was looking for a nice neutral lilac because every one I see is either too blue or too pink for my taste.
I hope this works for you, Josiane!
I didn’t have this one on my radar screen and based on your swatches, it looks like this polish addict needs to add this gem to the fray.
I love the way it sparkles!
I love this color. It applied beautifully. I’m quickly becoming a massive Zoya fan. Their formulas are great, good price and I love that you can order almost any color online. Really great brand! Also the only one, for me, who got the textured polish right. Love the names, particularly this one. (My Mom’s name!)
So glad to hear you are loving it, Megan! 🙂
I think I might have to buy this one!
Let us know ify ou do, Evr!
This is gorgeous!!
Oh this is such a pretty colour. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that brand here in Switzerland though 🙁
What base and top coat are you using? I have a few Zoya colors but I can’t get them to last more than 2 days on my nails.
I’m not using any in these photos – I normally use Zoya’s, though.
Loving this. It’s just the right kind of shimmer to go with the base color.
Purchased this at Ulta a couple days ago – it’s a lovely shade. I’m wearing it now with coat of OPI’s which is witch to amp up the glitter. It went on easily and I love it.
Its a really pretty color. I’m shocked at how white it is. It would look amazing with a tan in the summer!
Absolutely gorgeous. Oh jeez…I can NEVER resist a pretty lavender like this! 😛
The best and worst thing about Zoya is how many purple polishes they have. (Because I can’t resist a non-cream purple polish.)
I just got this in a package from Zoya today. It looks beautiful in the bottle and so pretty on you! I can’t wait to try it.
This is the kind of metallic finish I LOVE. I have an OPI polish which is a pink/purple colour with a similar finish (Suzi something, if only I wasn’t too tired & lazy to go check lol). I’m so envious of your nails too Christine! They’re so pretty & long!
