Zoya Evvie Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

A Smoky Green for Fall

Zoya Evvie Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as “dark smoky grey cream with strnog teal green undertones.” It’s a dark, smoky green with a hint of blue/teal. Essie School of Hard Rocks is lighter, slightly bluer. Rescue Beauty Lounge Diddy Mow is lighter and greener. MAC Fatigues is much greener.

I think smoky colors like Evvie tend to have a lot of depth.  It’s dark, luxurious, but it’s not vampy; it’s also not bright, either.  Evvie was opaque in two coats, and the consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin.  It flowed evenly across the nail without pooling, streaking, or bubbling during application.  I typically get a week of wear out of Zoya’s formula with no chipping and minor tip wear.

Interesting shade; reminds me of a polish version of MAC Plumage. This is definitely a nice alternative to black, and would be a great base for layering.

Gorgeous photos! I got Zoya Evvie because I loved the colour on everything else when I saw it in swatches, but actually wearing it (and testing the color spoons Zoya sent me), it looked too light on me and I should’ve gotten Noot instead.

Thanks for beautiful pictures though. 🙂

This would be a great shade if you worked in a conservative office; it’s subdued, but still pretty interesting. *looks at own sparkly midnight blue nails* (I work in IT; no one cares what my nails look like :P)

hee, so true 🙂 But I’m on the west coast anyway, and we’re pretty relaxed about appearance out here. I wear t-shirts and jeans to work and I fit right in.

OOOh… I’m browsing all your Zoya posts trying to decide on colors for their three free polishes promo. This color caught my eye, just sooo pretty.. it’s like a deeper version of Inglot Nail Enamel 983 from the Azure collection (if anyone wants to see swatches of that, just search for it on my blog). I think this is one I’ll be adding to my cart 😀
