I think I am one of the few people who really love both the Juicy Shakers and the Matte Shakers. I have purchased several of them and they are really easy to use. I don’t love super drying liquid lipsticks and given the choice will buy a traditional bullet over LL unless the LL color is one I just can’t say no to and then will wear with a balm over or under. I don’t mind reapplying frequently, if necessary. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing how this formula performs.

I love the juicy shakers and glosses! Haven’t tried the matte ones though. I have bought a few LL and they are all super drying and am in a dry climate..so they look like I slurped sand from a straw all day, ha. Even when I put a lip balm underneath…they are drying.

Yes Nicole, I am loving the trend away from LL. My lips just don’t love it. I think I have one of the Dior Lip Tattoo’s also but haven’t seen it in awhile. I remember loving that formula also.

I think it refers to the fact that the colour stays/remains on the lips like a tattoo. The expression “tattoo-liked” reminds me of my beloved Dior Lip Tattoo (I have it in Natural Cherry ). But the colour range for the Dior ones is limited to fours shades in Canada. So I’m curious to try the YSL ones as their colour range gives one more options.

I’m excited for swatches of these. I ordered 01 Rouge Tatouage online based on the description of it being a vibrant pink red. When it arrived I was disappointed that it pulls very orange on me, which makes my teeth look yellow and is not flattering in general. I love the formula, it’s very light feeling, but I think I’ll have to return this shade and get a different one. I just don’t see myself wearing it.

I tried this morning in store two shades of the YSL LL: no. 7 Nu Interdit (MLBB on me, a muted medium pink, cool leaning but not ashy or plumy), and no. 16 Nude Emblem (a terracotta pink that looks very natural on my lips; love that the pink tones down the hints of brown that are usually found in this type of shade). I’m NW15-20 for reference and my lips have low pigment, with cool to neutral undertones. Both shades are so beautiful for an everyday look.
Formula wise for these two shades: very light, non-drying indeed and it applies like a cushion on the lips. When I applied the YSL LL in store, I removed the lipstick I already had (ABH Matte lipstick in Kiss) and applied the YSL ones with single-use applicators. Usually I have to apply a lip balm prior to applying a LL or lip stain (i.e. Lancôme Matte Shaker or Dior Lip Tattoo) and let it sink in , otherwise my lips are Sahara desert. Not with this formula. I kept the YSL LL on (one shade on the lower lip and the other one on the upper lip) for about an hour and half and it was very comfortable and non-drying. They are not transfer-proof but the transfer was minimal with these two shades.
I’m curious to see Christine’s take on them. Personally, I plan on buying one of the two shades during the upcoming VIB Rouge Sale. The problem is that I’m torn between the two. The girl at Sephora said I look better with no. 7 Nu Interdit; my hubby thinks I look better in Terracotta Pink. We’ll see 🙂
