The palette with the purples and grays is beautiful, but too pricey for me. I probably have a lot of similar shades already, but that doesn’t keep me from drooling over purple palettes. The ubiquitous brown/nude palette looks like it at least has a nice variety of shades and a few mattes to round things out.

Been buying makeup for over 40 years. I have never seen couture brands create palettes like this. Yeh, there is the BH cosmetics with the 88 colors, but really is the Urban Decay that started this multi-color and Naked sets. I may have Estée Lauder’s GWP sets in eight colors. Really, the Tarte, UD, Too Faced started this bigger sets. I don’t even recall the quads even as it is popular today. I don’t even buy singles any more.

Hi girls,

I live in Paris a on Monday a seller told me at Sephora Champs Elysées that these palette are “one shot”, but the day after I finally decided to bought these 2 palettes at Sephora (with a 20 dicount!) and the manager said to me she didn’t know yet.
I asked to YSL sales but they did not answer to me already.
I think this i a limited edition but maybe I could be wrong!

Ugh..Thanks Alice for the info! That sounds fishy kinda. But makes me feel limited edition. That is weird that the YSL sales associate would not know, but Sephora does know???That would be a complete opposite occurrence here where I am in the states.. Were you able to buy them ? They are still pre-sale here online. i just left a message for my YSL SA “buddy”. But, I know he will try to swindle me into buying one. AS much as I love the looks of them,at $90 each, I just can’t sight unseen and no reviews. These are both very dupable for me in other quality shadows. I will update as to what he says. I would like if you do the same if you can.:) Thanks again!:)

Hello Nicole,

I just received an answer from YSL, theu wrote me these palettes are not lilited so you will find thel at the permanent collection 🙂 !
Kind regards

Nicole Avatar

Thanks for the update Alice! That kind of peeves me because the SA did tell me they were LE and that he received only 2 of each! Nice try buddy! LOL..Thank you. I always prefer permanent products at this price point! I wait until I see some reviews. Thank you again!

*cough, gasp, choke* a hundred bucks!! I have been really trying to not post complaints but really – this thing better apply and blend ITSELF.

Hehe, I was so busy having a heart attack over Tuxedo’s gorgeousness, I didn’t even look at the price! 😀 The shadows had certainly better be extremely good…

That being said, Chanel *quads* are ~$130 each here, so I wasn’t too shocked. It’s like the only benefit of living in Insane Makeup Prices Land – one does become rather unshockable…

lol I know what you mean. MU is very expensive here too, so 100 US$ for 10 YSL eyeshadows sounds very reasonable to me.
I hope we get these palettes here, I’d love to swatch them!

For $95, these better get all A ratings. I’ve swatched YSL shadow kits in stores and haven’t been too impressed –dry, stiff, sheer, or very glittery. Hope these perform better. The Nude kit looks like there’s too many light colors. The Tuxedo one looks like you can create a variety of looks in gray, blue, and plum. Hope you will review!

No 1 is like HOLD THE PHONE I NEED TO STARE AT THIS PALETTE FOR 3 WEEKS MMMKAY. Iove light-medium tones and peachy/taupey colours, it’s beautiful! 😀 xx

I love high-end cosmetics, especially have a soft-spot for YSL, but this screams CHEAP to me. The packaging…the layout. Not impressed. Will be passing on this one.

xamyx Avatar

I really like both of these! As for the price, if I were to buy 10 MAC pans, plus a palette, I’m looking at $100+; even MUG plus an empty Z-palette will put me at $80+, so $95 isn’t looking so bad… Also, considering YSL lipsticks run around $40, the price isn’t surprising, and an eyeshadow palette will last a lot longer, too.

CharleyJB Avatar

Geez, if they’re $95 in the States, then they’ll be at least $130 here in Australia!
They’re gorgeous but I’m gonna have to pass.
I need to draw the line somewhere. (My Mother would be so proud!)

For Ysl,10 shadows, that is relatively at their price point. Possibly lower depending on size. I’m interested in reviews for sure.I like Ysl. I have never found their shadows to be special. I played with the clutch looking set they had out at this past Holiday. It was gorgorgeous to look at. But the powder products were all too Dusty imo.

So glad it is not as expensive here in Europe, for just a tenner more than the quints’ retail price, I thought I can give it a try.
I have already ordered the Nu version off Feelunique, hopefully it performs well. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

Hi Sarah, sorry it took me so long to reply! I don’t comment often and did not know how to get notified about followup comments.
The YSL Nu palette is superb! I’ve been using it a lot in the past couple months and love every single shade. The formula is buttery soft and color payoff is great! The shadows blend beautiful too. Lasts a normal day (9 to 5ish) for me without a primer.
