YSL Corail Jalouse & Rose Asarine Rouge Volupte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches

I ended up caving and buying the remaining two new shades of Rouge Voluptes from the spring collection (you can see my review for the other two here). Rouge Voluptes have a thicker, creamier consistency and feel, so they glide onto lips very easily and are–generally–intensely pigmented and have opaque coverage. Both shades were moderately hydrating, wore well, and were comfortable to wear. The formula has a sweet, mango scent but no discernible taste.

YSL Corail Jalouse (32) Rouge Volupte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light-medium, warm-toned pink that leans slightly coral with how much warmth it has. It had rich, opaque color coverage, and the consistency was very creamy and glided on easily. As it is a lighter shade, it can sometimes show “lines” if you press your lips together–it is not too bad but still a little noticeable. This shade wore well for three hours. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is lighter. Tarte Pink Peony (P, $16.00) is warmer. Givenchy Rose Taffetas (201) (P, $36.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Urban Decay Naked (P, $22.00) is more muted. NYX Blush (P, $4.00) is lighter. MAC Flamingo (LE, $16.00) is warmer, lighter. MAC Betty Bright (LE, $16.00) is brighter, warmer. See comparison swatches.

YSL Rose Asarine (34) Rouge Volupte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened, pink-red with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy finish. It had good pigmentation, though it seemed a little more emollient/wetter compared to Corail Jalouse, so it didn’t have the same creamy look when applied (lighter in appearance). This shade wore well for five hours and left a stain that lingered behind. MAC Feeling Amorous? (LE, $20.00) is lighter. Revlon Whimsical (115) (P, $8.99) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Provocative (863) (LE, $49.50) is less glossy. Urban Decay Catfight (P, $22.00) is darker. Chanel Suspense (P, $34.00) is less glossy. Guerlain Girly (P, $49.50) is cooler-toned, darker. See comparison swatches.

Just a heads up, I’m trying to list what I’m wearing underneath the last image of the post under “Makeup Look!” Sometimes I forget, so feel free to ask, but that’s where it should appear in the future! 🙂

Omg Christine you look so amazing with both and I LOVE your make up! I don’t know if you like wearing heavier eye make up but this subtle looks always suit you the most, you are so lucky to look your best without having to wear more make up! And you’re gonna get me add all these Rouge Volupte’s to my “buy asap!” list! lol I hope I get to earn a good amount to afford everything I’ve been wanting lately, I’m obsessed both with TF and YSL lipsticks as I got one from both since the beginning of the year!

Hi Christine, I was just wondering…if you have the time, would you mind telling us what other makeup you’re wearing in the photo for Corail Jalouse? Your skin looks FLAWLESS and matte and I adore that shade of blush on you!!

Thanks so much in advance!

OMG, wow! Please tell me they make everyone’s lips like that! I’m in love with both of them…maybe a splurge!!!! Your whole look is sooo beautiful and otherworldly looking!

I love both of these. One of my favorite activities these days is trying to find drugstore dupes for such beautiful, expensive lip colors! It helps that I work at CVS and am constantly able to check out products/have first looks at anything new that comes in.

Between 33 and 34, which one do you think suits an nc35 skintone? Im torn between the two and I just cant decide. Need your advice. Thanks:)
