YSL Corail Jalouse & Rose Asarine Rouge Volupte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
YSL Corail Jalouse (32) Rouge Volupte Lipstick
I ended up caving and buying the remaining two new shades of Rouge Voluptes from the spring collection (you can see my review for the other two here). Rouge Voluptes have a thicker, creamier consistency and feel, so they glide onto lips very easily and are–generally–intensely pigmented and have opaque coverage. Both shades were moderately hydrating, wore well, and were comfortable to wear. The formula has a sweet, mango scent but no discernible taste.
YSL Corail Jalouse (32) Rouge Volupte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light-medium, warm-toned pink that leans slightly coral with how much warmth it has. It had rich, opaque color coverage, and the consistency was very creamy and glided on easily. As it is a lighter shade, it can sometimes show “lines” if you press your lips together–it is not too bad but still a little noticeable. This shade wore well for three hours. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is lighter. Tarte Pink Peony (P, $16.00) is warmer. Givenchy Rose Taffetas (201) (P, $36.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Urban Decay Naked (P, $22.00) is more muted. NYX Blush (P, $4.00) is lighter. MAC Flamingo (LE, $16.00) is warmer, lighter. MAC Betty Bright (LE, $16.00) is brighter, warmer. See comparison swatches.
YSL Rose Asarine (34) Rouge Volupte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened, pink-red with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy finish. It had good pigmentation, though it seemed a little more emollient/wetter compared to Corail Jalouse, so it didn’t have the same creamy look when applied (lighter in appearance). This shade wore well for five hours and left a stain that lingered behind. MAC Feeling Amorous? (LE, $20.00) is lighter. Revlon Whimsical (115) (P, $8.99) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Provocative (863) (LE, $49.50) is less glossy. Urban Decay Catfight (P, $22.00) is darker. Chanel Suspense (P, $34.00) is less glossy. Guerlain Girly (P, $49.50) is cooler-toned, darker. See comparison swatches.

Just a heads up, I’m trying to list what I’m wearing underneath the last image of the post under “Makeup Look!” Sometimes I forget, so feel free to ask, but that’s where it should appear in the future! 🙂

Omg Christine you look so amazing with both and I LOVE your make up! I don’t know if you like wearing heavier eye make up but this subtle looks always suit you the most, you are so lucky to look your best without having to wear more make up! And you’re gonna get me add all these Rouge Volupte’s to my “buy asap!” list! lol I hope I get to earn a good amount to afford everything I’ve been wanting lately, I’m obsessed both with TF and YSL lipsticks as I got one from both since the beginning of the year!
Aw, thanks so much! 🙂
I’m loving both of these shades on you! They’re not something I’d reach for every day, but the first one is really calling to me.
Thanks, Audrey!
I love Corail Jalouse! One of my favorites of the season. And I’ve been eyeing this Rose but think it might be too cool and bright for me! Thanks for this review!!!!! I think you just saved me $36!!!

Both of these shades are amazing. And I love the blush you’re wearing here!
Thanks, Danielle! 🙂
Christine, I think you might have those backwards up in the descriptions for the product names!
I love the Rose. Glad it’s not LE!
Thanks, Erin!
I actually fixed it this morning because they both showed Corail Jalouse, and of course, being the idiot that I am, fixed the wrong one.
Blame lack of caffeine!
I’m so in love with these both! I thought I wanted to get the Opera Rose lipstick, but now I’m thinking I might want Corail Jalouse!
So hard to narrow down choices in the YSL Rouge Volupte range!
Hi Christine, I was just wondering…if you have the time, would you mind telling us what other makeup you’re wearing in the photo for Corail Jalouse? Your skin looks FLAWLESS and matte and I adore that shade of blush on you!!
Thanks so much in advance!
Oops, nevermind! I was so excited I forgot to read the comments above, where the answer to my very question lies! So sorry. Again, you look stunning!! 🙂
Glad you were able to catch it! 🙂 Thank you for checking!
Coral jalouse is stunning on you!
Thanks a lot, Gemma!
*drool* Those close-ups look so…so… I dunno, I almost want to say sexy! Like, juicy! 🙂 I really like both.
Definitely a signature aspect of that glossy finish of Rouge Voluptes!
Both are pretty on you, but Rose Asarine is stunning! I’m glad these are permanent, because the range is going on my ‘save up and try!’ list 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂
They’re both so gorgeous.
They are!
I love both of these, but Coral Jalouse is my favorite! I’m going to have to pick these up!
Fingers crossed you love ’em, Melinda!
Rose Asarine looks lovely on you! Pretty shade!
Thanks, Vineetha 🙂
I’m still loving my Rose Asarine!
Yay!!
Oh wow, Rose Asarine totally had me at hello! This goes on my wish list!
Haha!
These are really pretty on you!! Especially Corail Jalouse! I think I want that one
Thanks, Fancie!
Is it just me, or does it seem like there are way too many almost identical light corals in the RV line?? Not that I’m complaining, but……
They do seem to put out a lot of them!
I love the look of Rose Asarine. I bought my first YSL lipstick a few weeks ago and now I can safely say YSL Lipsticks are my new favourite.
Woohoo!! Happy to hear that you’ve found a winner, Amy!
Ooooh, Rouge Asarine is GORGEOUS! I always gravitate towards that color family. <3
Me too! Bright and bold.
I find that I’m really fond of bright colors as long as it has a bit of red in it, so Rouge Asarine is perfect.
Do you know if these will be available at Sephora? They are stunning!
I really have no idea! As far as I knew, they were everywhere (all YSL locations).
OMG, wow! Please tell me they make everyone’s lips like that! I’m in love with both of them…maybe a splurge!!!! Your whole look is sooo beautiful and otherworldly looking!
They definitely help make lips appear smoother – plumper, too, IMO because of all the glossiness!
Christine, are these four spring shades limited edition?
The press release I received didn’t list them as LE.
You haven’t reviewed the blush you’re wearing in these photos, have you? I’ve read it’s an It Cosmetics one. Will you review it in the near future?
We’ll see!
I love both of these. One of my favorite activities these days is trying to find drugstore dupes for such beautiful, expensive lip colors! It helps that I work at CVS and am constantly able to check out products/have first looks at anything new that comes in.
Any luck with finding a good dupe for the Rouge Volupte formula, Sarah?
Hi Christine
Is CORAIL JALOUSE similar to urban decay Streak?
Tks
Corail Jalouse is lighter and pinker!
Between 33 and 34, which one do you think suits an nc35 skintone? Im torn between the two and I just cant decide. Need your advice. Thanks:)
#33!
Rose Asarine looks lovely on you Christine!
Thank you, Fiona!
