YSL Corail Fauve (12) Glossy Stain Review, Photos, Swatches
YSL Corail Fauve (12) Glossy Stain
YSL Corail Fauve (12) Glossy Stain ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark orange-red with a glossy finish. Giorgio Armani #402 is lighter, more muted. OCC Jealous is brighter. NARS Hollywoodlawn is darker. Chanel Exces is similar. See comparison swatches.
Corail Fauve had semi-opaque color coverage–it wasn’t quite as opaque as some of the Glossy Stains have been, but it wasn’t sheer. It gave the lips strong, noticeable color without looking heavy. The consistency feels like water initially, but it transitions into a cushion-y, gel-like consistency after five to ten minutes. When it becomes a gel, it is lightly tacky as well. The formula has a sweet, fruity scent but no noticeable taste. This shade was comfortable to wear–being neither drying nor hydrating–and lasted well for five and a half hours. The glossiness persisted for just over four hours, while the color and residual stain did well until the sixth hour, and then it started to noticeably fade from there.

Oh that’s beautiful on you Christine. You really suit a warm toned lip like a coral or orange red.
Gotta say, I much prefer the glossy stains with shimmer. I feel they really lack something without, but that’s just me 😛
Alert alert, wish list material! 🙂
That’s a beautiful colour.
Normally I think I would have been drawn to this shade, but I have really been loving a lot of the other shades more!
I have one of these in shade 20, which is a red (it’s what I’m wearing in my icon), and I absolutely love it. It is so simple to apply and lasts forever. I can’t wait to try more of these!
Ah, this is stunning! I’m a sucker for orange coral shades and this one is fantastic 🙂
