Where does highlighting fit into your regular makeup routine?

I love shimmer and shine, so highlighter is something I love applying and wearing–it would be in the “daily staple” category for me 🙂

I love highlighters, on the cheekbone, cupid’s bow, etc. but since most of my makeup “looks” are day-time/work looks and I’m pressed for time in the morning, I often skip highlighter though I absolutely love using it if we’re going out in the evening (even for a coffee around the corner) or on the weekend.

Daily. But I’ve given away, sold off all of mine except the Laura Mercer Matte Radiance Highlight 01. It’s all I need. Just right for me. Use it every day with a light have for that “just enough” touch.

I use it daily. But if I’m tired or do not want to spend much time on my makeup I use the same one. I use Estee Lauder Heat Wave about 90% of the time. I’m pale and freaking am obsessed with that highlight. Looks good with a full face or light makeup. It’s jus so good.

It’s a daily staple for me! 2 years ago I only had one highlighter and didn’t think much about it. Now it’s next to eyeshadow palettes as far is my preferred buying and weakness. I prefer the more traditional colors, though – give me a peachy golden or rose gold shimmer any day!

I use it most days, although I prefer a subtler highlight, so it’s not too wild. (My fave is the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance, although today I went with the lavender Sephora Twilight, which actually isn’t that bold despite being purple.)

I use it pretty much daily. I do vary the strength of the highlight depending on whether I am going somewhere special or just staying around town. I prefer a blush/highlighter combo like the Ciate Glow to Illuminate blushes. When using highlighter I tend to apply it first and then blend my blush up into the highlighter.

I like a little highlight to liven up my face but I almost always forget the extra step when I’m in a rush in the morning so I only kept my one favorite for special occasions and a subtle one that I actually remember to use when I use the face palette it’s contianed in.

I’m in love with highlighter and use it every day. I used to laugh at all the YouTubers that wore bold highlighter, until I found myself doing the same. It’s easy to love, because it’s just so darn pretty!

I what one calls “self-highlights” (i.e. shiny) so it’s not generally something I use every day. Although I do use it sometimes and ironically am today. I don’t always feel like it is super apparent but I put it on the tops of my cheekbones anyway. And I use it when going out. I have a quirky dimple on my nose so I don’t like to highlight there – usually it’s just my cheekbones, inner eye and maybe cupid’s bow.

You will pry my highlighter out of my cold, dead hands.

I use it pretty much every day (unless I go bare faced on the weekends) because I have approximately elebenty squillion of them and seem to be utterly incapable of either
a) not buying any more or
b) decluttering them from my stash. I recently got the ABH Sugar and PUR Quick Pro palettes and am now eyeing up the Cover FX one… I do use quite a light hand though, I don’t want to look like the tip of my nose is radioactive!

I love it as much as eyeshadow! If I put blush and bronzer on to achieve a certain effect, I highlight because I love it and fine it fun. My 3 HG are the Estée Lauder Victoria Beckham Modern Mercury, Laura Mercier 01 Matte Radiance and Chanel Camélia de plumes (as I write that I think about other ones I love a lot too… Hmm lol)

Every day: Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Highlight 01 at the outer corners of my eyes and blended up into the temples and a little bit above my eyebrows, all to give a bit of lift to my down turned eyes.

Occasionally: a radiance primer blended over foundation above my marionette lines, again to give a bit of lift to my lower face. I should so this more often than I do. The powder emphasizes my skin’s texture too much in this part of my face so I need a cream. The radiance primers work wonderfully and are usually available free as samples or promo items.

I love shimmers and shines too! I use only the tiniest amount of highlighter on the apples of my cheeks on occasion. I do like seeing how others wear highlighters because they are so pretty!.

I took a MUFE highlighting and contouring class at Sephora. The instructor was very informative and showed us how to highlight our faces with a lighter concealer. It was a class that I was glad that I took, I use her tips every time I put my makeup on. It is subtle but makes a big impact and then I go in with one of my many highlighting palettes to put the finishing touches on. It only takes minutes and gives you a polished look.

Part of my daily routine. Just how much varies by what my plans are. Work is more conservative so that is usually more of a natural glow than say going out with my husband or a party, though I never reach the typical Instagram/You-tuber glow.

I rarely highlight these days as I found that I prefer a mattish finish to my face. I also found that most highlighters emphasise pore that really I don’t have and I end up looking a little too shiny ball.
The only ‘highlighter’ as such that I use is my Natio Blush/highlighter mosaic in Sunkissed and that peachy hue is enough for me.

If I’m wearing makeup then I’m wearing highlighter. I do change up the type of highlighter I use depending on how much makeup im wearing. If i have a no makeup look I will usually use a liquid or cream like RMS or Becca liquid or poured. On the other end of the spectrum, full on, then I may layer a cream with a powder and really glow!
Highlighter makes me happy!

Love! Love! Love! Highliters! I prefer the rosy colors in my life being pale but some golds and bronze are gorgeous as well. Love them all. I like the Milani ones and got all three of them especially with their design of many small roses how can I resist temptation being an avid gardener. They all go on gorgeous! Very fine talc. The pink, the amber and forgot the name for the third one the darker. All lovely and fine. I also collected all WetnWild ones from the three Fergies and all the following ones including the rainbow one which actually unless you press that brush hard it doesn’t come out as clownish as I though it would. Lol! I got all those three and also Queen of my Canopy lovely one and the next color up forget the name also. Even the smaller ones in pink and purple which have a teeny heart in the middle. Have not bought the 4 new ones I think they’ll be a replicate of previous ones I already have but maybe later. Been drooling for the NARS and keep hearing Laura one is beautiful too. Might grab them myself for Christmas! I Oh! Forgot also the gold colored one from Essence is gorgeous and a creamy smaller white one I could use on eyes too in the water line is very pretty. At Ross digging around for fun found one big round shaped one from a name called Gotta’ B Urban boy! Oh! Boy! It turned out gorgeous I git one in ligh pink then found another in a gold color and like them lots. Surprise! Me!! Myself! And one from City Color that has various little squares in different colors not bad actually is sort of a frosted overall highliter. I get them everywhere I go. Lol! I wear them on top of my high cheeks but very lightly since I’m pale don’t want to look like a greasy disco ball but do I wear them! Usually just on top of blush and around the eyes as in the C form youbers suggest but with a light hand. Love highliters and anything that glistens like freshly fallen snow! ?

l would like to use it more often … regularly, even … but being pressed for time in the morning often minimizes my efforts (lately — I used to be a lot better about managing my “prep”/wind-up time). I have the double issue of combination skin and some texture, so I’m still figuring out what works best for me.

I avoided highlight for many years because parts of my face get very oily, but they’re not he parts that one would highlight, so one isn’t a substitute for the other. I’m slowly learning how to manage my oily parts, so highlighting has become a possibility, but I’m still working through the texture problem.

I really can’t stand the “youtube” highlight, but I know that contour *does* *not* work for me in real life (face is too round), so highlight will be a very useful tool for me if I can work out the kinks.

I highlight with a lighter shade of concealer (mostly in the middle of my face) and then later go back with a powder highlighter and add it to my cheeks. I used to highlight at the end, but I’ve found I now highlight the apples of my cheeks and buff across cheekbones to my hairline, then apply blush below-ish.
I finish with TF Peach Blur all over the soften any edges.
If I need to re highlight somewhere at the end, I do. I have so many different highlighters (formulations, hues and brands from CP Tarte, Jouer, Benefit, NYX, TF) and use them depending on my colour scheme and time of the year (how tan/fair I am).

I’m a full face makeup kind of girl, so it’s part of the daily routine. My latest highlight love is that shimmery pearly pink that’s in the Maybelline x Gigi Hadid Jetsetter palette. I think that highlight alone almost makes this palette worth the price. Cheekbones, temples, browbones, nose.

I use it very lightly every day. My everyday highlighter is UD Afterglow in Sin (very great birthday gift!).

I have the Laura Geller Diamond Dust Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator, which I use when I want to look more on the “glam” side… It’s so gorgeous, one of the prettiest things I own. In the summer, I’ll sometimes use the Wet n Wild Precious Petals on my shoulders.
