When was the last time you sat down and just played with makeup? Share how it went!

Yesterday! LOL, I feel like pretty much every day is play time since I’m never quite sure how something is going to turn out!

It’s been a while since I sat down and played around with my collection. The last time was a few months ago and I created a beautiful look with the Colourpop Becky G Salvaje palette – golden shadow on the lid and and deep teal shadow on the outer corners and smoked it out. I paired it with a pinky-brown lip – Bite Beauty lipstick in Molasses with MAC chestnut lip liner. I used my usual base which is quite light coverage using the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and spot concealed only where I needed it. My makeup always turnes out amazing when I’m just sitting and playing with no where to go… It’s always such a bummer but great to see I got the skills!

This morning. It did not go well. I was trying to love/use up some products I have had in my stash for awhile…

Kevyn Aucoin Nude Pop – I used to love this e/s palette, but I now find the shadows difficult to work with and not particularly pigmented. It works for a sheer eye, which isn’t necessarily bad, but I have grown accustomed to better payoff.

Trying to use up my IT Cosmetics CC cream. I have fallen out of love with this one because my skin.. I love how quick it is though and I love it has a wonky undertone which seems to work for me.

Pat McGrath concealer. I find it hateful. Me and full coverage anything are simply not meant to be.

At the end of all the aggravation, I don’t look too bad ?

I actually did yesterday evening. It was the first slow day at work in a long time and I was able to quit an hour early. I was looking at recipes and thought, I’ll make a fancy sit down dinner for the other half (he was golfing) and get dressed up like a date. I sat down at my vanity and yook time and experimented with my foundation finish, mixing with a light skin oil and my eyes playing with ND Bronze which my new customized base palette. It felt indulgent to take time and experiment. Usually I can get finished in 10 minutes…but I took the time to really thoughtfully apply my make up.

I’m dying for the magnet stick I ordered to come in. I’m going to use it to move my pans around in my palettes.

I am a medical provider, and I haven’t put foundation on my face since February 29, 2020. I miss makeup so much but I am working crazy hours and I am
Coming home and just feel so worn out that I can’t even put on chapstick or lip gloss. I have been getting all new makeup from boxy and Fenty but unfortunately they are sitting in boxes in my guest bathroom.
