What's your favorite type of finish for your blush?

I love some shimmer in my blush, though I don’t usually need it to be intensely shimmery (as I’ll use a highlighter to add more shine/shimmer). I find satin and pearl finishes to be underrated, generally, but particularly for blush formulas. It’s the type of finish that adds subtle sheen but not overt shimmer particles, so it’s more “skin-like” but can readily take highlighter on top.

I prefer a satin finish or very, very fine shimmer (or dewy-but-not-shimmery, for cream blushes). It has more of a skin-like look on me compared to a matte blush (and I’m usually too lazy to layer something on top of a matte blush), while excessive shimmer tends to emphasize my giant pores.

I find myself reaching for my Becca and Hourglass blushes the most for these reasons — not too shimmery, not too flat.

Definitely shimmer! Love me some shimmery blushes. Natasha Denona is great for me. Also, I love Hourglass blushes. Mac Extra Dimension too. I just ordered 1 of their Play blushes. It’s not shimmery, but felt very smooth when I swatched and tried them in store.

As a non-shimmer lover (or shimmer disliker 😆 ), my favorite finish for everything is a natural matte (not flat). But thinking generically, if I were to choose one blush only, it would be something more towards a satin finish; for blushes sometimes a slight shine, maybe not even detectable, works better.

For everyday wear, I love satin, light diffusing finishes because they make my skin glow with the look of good health. The way they subtly catch the light adds a bit of natural looking radiance without any overt shimmer or glitter. If there is a bit of micro glitter in the mix, that’s OK so long as it is not visible once I’ve blended it on my skin. For evening, I like something a bit more luminous; more pearlescent, but nothing extreme. My days of sparkle-baby-sparkle and iridescent unicorns (as beautiful as some of the products are) are long gone! LOL

I love some sheen in my cheek products – not glitter but a nice sheen or shimmer. MAC has some of my favourites – Sheertone Shimmer and In Extra Dimension blushes as well as some of the older Mineralize blushes – all of which sort of buff to the prettiest finish.

I like matte finishes. As i have enlarged pores, a shimmer finish tends to enhance the problem. My favourite are always Mac blushes but I’d love to try a Marc Jacobs duo-toned blush
