What's your favorite type of finish for your blush?
I love some shimmer in my blush, though I don’t usually need it to be intensely shimmery (as I’ll use a highlighter to add more shine/shimmer). I find satin and pearl finishes to be underrated, generally, but particularly for blush formulas. It’s the type of finish that adds subtle sheen but not overt shimmer particles, so it’s more “skin-like” but can readily take highlighter on top.
I’m game for anything other than super pigmented matte blushes. I layer cheek products all the time so having a variety of finishes makes me joyful and happy to be alive.
I love a Clinique Cheek Pop Gelee formula. One that is buildable and melts into the skin. Finish doesn’t matter as long as it is the gelee formula
I enjoy blush that leaves a nice sheen on my cheeks. I find that they blend better than completely matte blushes and make my skin look healthy. I don’t mind a tiny bit of micro glitter either; it looks so pretty in the sunlight!
I prefer a satin finish or very, very fine shimmer (or dewy-but-not-shimmery, for cream blushes). It has more of a skin-like look on me compared to a matte blush (and I’m usually too lazy to layer something on top of a matte blush), while excessive shimmer tends to emphasize my giant pores.
I find myself reaching for my Becca and Hourglass blushes the most for these reasons — not too shimmery, not too flat.
Shimmer. I’m blessed with smooth skin on my cheeks and find that some shimmer does me good.
Definitely shimmer! Love me some shimmery blushes. Natasha Denona is great for me. Also, I love Hourglass blushes. Mac Extra Dimension too. I just ordered 1 of their Play blushes. It’s not shimmery, but felt very smooth when I swatched and tried them in store.
I like shimmer and luminous best. I won’t say no to a good satin or matte, though. I don’t mind a little fine glitter, glittery blushes aren’t my favorites.
Anything satiny, glowing or “skin-like” in finish are the ones I reach for most often. Some softer shimmers also appeal to me, as well. Not sure how the Hourglass Ghost Quad shades are officially named as far as finish goes, but I love that quad to the moon and back!
As a non-shimmer lover (or shimmer disliker 😆 ), my favorite finish for everything is a natural matte (not flat). But thinking generically, if I were to choose one blush only, it would be something more towards a satin finish; for blushes sometimes a slight shine, maybe not even detectable, works better.
For everyday wear, I love satin, light diffusing finishes because they make my skin glow with the look of good health. The way they subtly catch the light adds a bit of natural looking radiance without any overt shimmer or glitter. If there is a bit of micro glitter in the mix, that’s OK so long as it is not visible once I’ve blended it on my skin. For evening, I like something a bit more luminous; more pearlescent, but nothing extreme. My days of sparkle-baby-sparkle and iridescent unicorns (as beautiful as some of the products are) are long gone! LOL
I like a shimmer finish but can work with almost any finish as long as there isn’t glitter. I like mixing shades and finishes for different looks.
I love some sheen in my cheek products – not glitter but a nice sheen or shimmer. MAC has some of my favourites – Sheertone Shimmer and In Extra Dimension blushes as well as some of the older Mineralize blushes – all of which sort of buff to the prettiest finish.
Satin for sure!
I prefer a soft matte finish to my blushes – nothing shimmery at all.
I like a bit of a pearlized finish myself due to sitting under fluorescent lights most of the day. A little bit of brightness to the yellow-cast lighting.
Satin (Clinique Cheek Pops) or fine shimmer (Cargo Bali or Benefit Gold Rush). Whenever I use matte blushes I’m always compelled to add a sheer highlight!
I like matte finishes. As i have enlarged pores, a shimmer finish tends to enhance the problem. My favourite are always Mac blushes but I’d love to try a Marc Jacobs duo-toned blush
