What's your current, go-to fragrance?
I’ve really dropped the ball lately on fragrance… the last one I wore was By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela.

I absolutely adore By the Fireplace but for me, it’s a cool/cold weather scent (sort of obvious, given the name). But for these hot summer days, I wear Elizabeth Arden White Tea. It’s light, fresh, clean and just “nice”. I also really like Biotherm’s Eau Vitaminee but it’s more a refreshing body spritz and the bright citrus-y scent barely lasts half an hour.
I have a sample of White Tea and I love it! Elizabeth Arden has beautiful perfumes. When I am able to shop again this perfume is on the top of my list.
I found it quite by accident a few years ago and as it’s sold at Shoppers Drug Mart, I was able to purchase it for 20% off the regular price (which isn’t all that pricey when you compare it to brands like Tom Ford or Atelier. I hadn’t been using it for very long when I bought a 2nd bottle, which I’ve got stored in my “backups” drawer. I’m delighted to read that you like it too.
I see most of the Arden Tea flankers at TJMaxx and Marshalls for super cheap. Try those stores.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic, Origins Ginger Essence, and D&G Light Blue are my three favorite summer fragrances and have been in regular rotation for the past couple months.
I am not even sure of the ne of the fragrance I wear lol. It’s by Nanete Leopore. I picked it up from Marshalls bc the bottle was pretty. Smells nice?
The last time I wore fragrance was definitely pre-pandemic and with many services going fragrance free, I find myself not wearing fragrance.
Anything with an oud base! It just works well for my body chemistry.
If you love oud then try Jo Malone London Velvet Rose & Oud or Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Silk Mood or Oud Satin Mood.
By the Fireplace is one of my favorite scents. Since it’s always hot here I don’t try to match the scent “season”. I’ve been wearing Lancôme La Nuit Tresor when I do wear perfume.
I don’t have one. Since mid-March, I’ve worn Nest New York Cocoa Woods and My Pretty Zombie Dr. Soda Eau de Toilette Spray a few times each. My former workplace was fragrance free, and we went into stay-at-home in mid-March. My county was one of the last to start reopening in the state, and we’re still not completely reopened.
Tiger Balm? Yeah, because of my achy breaky knee, this seems to be what I usually smell of. LOL.
On the very few days that I have worn actual fragrance, it has been Maison Margiela Beach Walk.
Oh, if that counts, then that’s me 24/7 😉
Nothing quite like Tiger Balm to clear the nostrils!
J’Adore is my favorite, and I also wear Chanel Chance.
I fell in love with Tom Ford’s Eau de Soleil Blanc and Guerlain’s Bergamote Calabria from the Aqua Allegoria line! Also I’m still not over your Tom Ford perfume collection… ?❤️
I am a perfume-a-holic, so I don’t have just one, but my current top faves are:
– Dior “Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet”
– Narciso Rodriguez “Pure Musc”
– Chloe L’Eau
I have MANY more, but those are the top 3 I have been wearing recently.
Zoologist Squid! <3
I had to go look this up because of the name… the artwork on the bottles is amazing. I’ll have to check them out post-COVID.
Check out Indigo Perfumery of Surrender to Chance for Zoologist. You can buy samples instead of a whole bottle.
You can get samples and sample sets directly from Zoologist too…
I just ordered a bunch of their samples, but left Squid off because I worried I wouldn’t like the inky notes. Is it nice on?
So glad to hear love for this! Victor is a good friend and I’m so happy he’s killing it with this line. I want to try Koala, the newest. The eucalyptus base should be great for summer. Squid is def a sample-first scent. It wasn’t for me…
I have Zoologist Hummingbird. It’s one of my all-time favourite fragrances.
Juliet Has A Gun in Sunny Side Up.
I went fragrance CRAZY during quarantine and wore one every day to at least get my mood up. My current go to is Sci Fi by Ellis Brooklyn, it’s a cool spice for women which is really great in this 90+ weather for weeks on end. I also got my hands back on Replica Dancing On The Moon, the most unique fragrance that’s lasted on me, so I wore that today but sadly sweated it off.
I have been liking the Proenza Schouler Arizona fragrance mini that came in my Allure beauty box!
I’m such a die hard Balenciaga Paris fan. I wish they would launch something new. It’s been years.
For daily wear I wear Versace’s Yellow Diamond. It’s clean and pretty.
On the weekend (date night) I wear Le Labo’s Rose 31. I find it sultry and sexy.
I love both of them for different reasons.
My current obsession is Wednesday by Smell Bent. It’s a funky, strange, out-of-the-ordinary scent. Not great longevity but I don’t mind while WFH.
My current favourites are: My Burberry and Coach perfumes. I love, love and love my perfumes!
Mosquitoes and other biting critters love me (and make me very sick), so I’ve been avoiding sweet fragrances I love and going for fresh ginger root EO, lemongrass EO and pennyroyal EO or hydrosol when I can find it. Pennyroyal is such a beautiful mint! Not so safe for everyone especially if they’re pregnant. I can’t stand the scent of Citronella. What an anafrodisiac. I sneak a lil’ patchouli & ylang ylang & others hoping it won’t attract bugs. Can’t wait to wear a lot of fragrances in cooler weather.
Try this for skeeters: “No Bite Me” cream. All natural and smells amazing! I’ve been using it as a fragrance lately.
Thanks Rina! I hate squeeters! I’m checking out their cream & soap ingredients. Hopefully they won’t burn my sensitive skin like the huge doses of lemongrass & other EOs in a fancy shower gel & a lotion I’ve used from Spa Botanico (Ritz Carlton Reserve Dorado Puerto Rico). So strong a doctor once thought I got Pine Sol on myself. ?♀️
Good luck, hope you can use it. Let me know what you think!
My current summer faves:
Guerlain Pamplune
Eau de Givenchy
Mazzolari Marina
I adore fragrance as a matter of fact I’ve bought at least 1 nice bottle per month this year currently in heavy rotation
Lancome Oud Bouquet
Juliette got a gun “not a perfume”
Maison Francis K A La Rose & , Oud Silk Mood
Aqua De Parma Rose & Iris noble
Tom Ford Champca Absolute & another one I a blue bottle sorry it’s nice & fresh – I shower morning & night and I spray them twice a day!!
It is hot & humid here so “tropical” has been my Summer fragrance theme:
Pacifica’s Tahitian Gardenia – A light, fresh & modern gardenia that is surprisingly long-lasting with green tea and sweet orange.
Gucci Bloom – Simply pretty white floral, reminiscent of tuberose, jasmine & honeysuckle
Montale Intense Tiare – A tropical vacation in a bottle! Tiare, coconut, jasmine, vanilla & ylang ylang have a Tahitian vibe.
I wonder why Pacifica discontinued Sandalwood & Spanish Amber. I’m using the last of Sandalwood from a surprise restock/sale months ago.
Pipe Bomb by Blackbird!!!!
I’ve never counted the bottles of perfume I have but I adore perfume. I wasn’t allowed to wear perfume at work so I kept a bottle in my car and put it on, on the way home from work, my day isn’t complete without scent. I am on the last dregs of Pink Lily by Oscar de la Renta a LE from 2006 and my heart is breaking, it fills me with joy every time I spray it on. But I have plenty other perfumes, Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue, Burberry Brit Sheer are go tos for summer. Another one that I’m having a hard time finding is Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom.
My current go-to is Mon Guerlain EDT. It’s an amazing summer scent and perfectly ‘me’. I’ve read some reviews complaining that it doesn’t last, but I haven’t found that to be true for me. My signature scent used to be ‘La Petite Robe Noire’; Mon Guerlain does have some similar aspects to it but just lighter and not as serious. Other faves on my vanity are Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic, Chloé Nomade and V&R Flowerbomb Nectar.
I’ve been wearing La Femme Prada throughout the lockdown, so much so that I’ll never wear it again once it finishes (my bottle is almost empty). For me, scent is closely tied to memory, and I’d rather not remember this strange time in the future.
CLEAN Rain or Skin
or Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk
Now that the weather is warm, I’ve been using lesser expensive fragrances that are fresh and floral. Things like Philosophy Pure Grace, Dana Tabu Rose, Perfumer’s Workshop Tea Rose, The Body Shop British Rose and Thymes Kimono Rose
I am loving Laura Mercier coconut almond right now! It’s not a perfume (not using the fragrance) but using the body cream and the shower gel! Smells like summer and it’s so yummy!!! I get tons of compliments and it lasts a long time.
Buy backups! LM makes great scents and disco’s them just as quickly. I picked up the AMAZING Verbena Infusion at TJM and then had to hunt down the body line when the stores didn’t stock it anymore.
Stella by Stella McCartney since 2004 🙂
