What's the weirdest eyeshadow combination you tried and loved?

I think one of the seemingly strange combinations is teal and copper, but it really can and does work. You have to be really gentle when blending, because they just have to soften against each other but not really blend together or else it can get muddy.

Way back in the day, my friend gifted me a palette that had peach-pink, blue-purple, light yellow, and brown (the MAC hello kitty lucky tom palette). I thought it would look dreadful on me, but I tried it and it actually looked amazing.

My mother got me a travel quad from Estee Lauder that had a champagne color, a taupey brown, a royal blue, and a mint color and I never knew how the colors could come together! I’ve tried putting the shimmer as an all over color and a highlight, the taupe in my crease, the mint green (which was really sheer) in my outer corners and the blue in my outer-v and the lower lash line. I wasn’t a big fan of the colors because I was a neutrals girl, but I was able to pull it off last summer.

I once did a look with a chartreuse green, a metallic greenish gold color, a cobalt blue and a periwinkle blue… It started as a playful look just for fun, and I ended up wearing it to work the next day (im a make up artist) and I got SO many compliments! Though definitely not for the faint of heart 🙂 lol

I try a lot of strange combinations, but I think my favorite was pink and blue. It’s something you’ve got to be really careful with and it takes work, but it can look amazing. My favorite pink/blue combination is MUFE Aqua Cream #16, the pink side of the Nars Charade duo, a little bit of something like Nars South Pacific or Inglot #413 just lightly in the crease/outer corner and Milani Liquify pencil in Aqua. It looks great whether it’s light and fresh or bright and bold…I love it.

Purple and yellow with a cool brown in the crease. Basically the colors from MAC Style Warriors – Bright Future, Vibrant Grape, and Night Maneuvers. It’s unusual but it looks amazing and I always get compliments.

MAC Club (reddish-brown with green pearl) and Urban Decay Matte Purple Haze (pretty bright!!).
It’s actually one of my favorite combos, especially if I apply the Club over a cream primer or with a little wetness so that the green pearl is enhances.

A silver/taupe (“Nutty” Wet n Wild, kind of comes off neutral-cool tone on me) with a very warm orange-copper (“Hot Ginge” Star Makeup Haven) and a dark brown eyeshadow in the crease. I love the idea of pairing cool tones with warm tones like that.

Bright matte Orange and mid-tone purple. I can’t even begin to say how much I love this combo. Have also used it on a client and she thought it was the best thing after sliced bread 😀

Peach and purple! Didn’t think I’d like it but I did. In fact, I got lots of compliments from some of the MAC MUAs I saw that day. And since this is Dallas and they tend to be kinda snobby, it was esp. uplifting ; )

that is mine too! it’s not really weird. My fave combo with this is Urban Decay’s Snatch on the lid and Psychedelic Sister on the crease… both from the NYC Book of Shadows

Gray and orange, teal and copper, turquoise and terracotta or coral, amethyst and emerald, pink and yellow–any time you pick colors that are opposites on the color wheel, you’ll get a striking look.

Illamasqua Angst (matte cranberry red) and MUFE Burgundy 141 (shimmer burgundy).

Something I wear quite alot is a base of CK Calvin Klein tempting glimmer sheer crème eyeshadow in 311 (turquoise blue) and Hard Candy Kal-Eye-Descope Baked Eyeshadow minis in Bad Reputation and Bad Reputation (*LOL* I know, right??). One is a dark grey and one is a light grey. I think they are a pair? Colour pay off is MEH alone so I like the blue base.

I haven’t tried it, but as I was watching The Voice last night (lol) one of the contestants had what looked like purple and orange lids. It looked awesome! I want to try it, but first I need to find a nice orange eyeshadow.

One of my most oddest eyeshadow combinations was vibrant orange, turquoise, iridescent beige. I wore this eyeshadow combination to a wedding. Everyone complimented this combination.
