I rather wish I had a signature scent, but I have never found one that I like. I actually enjoy the scent of the John Frieda Full Repair shampoo, and if that were a perfume, I’d buy it immediately.

zainab Avatar

I probably haven’t owned anything long enough to call it my signature, the three perfumes I’ve worn the most are LUSH The Bug, Ajmal Shadow and Britney Spears Circus Fantasy.

Someday Kalemat you will be mine!

Jennifer Lopez’s Still eau de parfum. I bought it online, unsniffed on a whim for a cheap price about 4 or 5 years ago and I love it.

Apples, tea, freesia, pepper, jasmine, sandalwood and a hint of rose and citrus. It smells fresh, clean, feminine and it really works well with my skin.

I may or may not have 3 backup bottles stashed away in my closet…;-)

I go through phases, meaning I latch to one scent and wear it a lot until I find one I like even better. From oldest to newest, off the top of my head: Escada Island Kiss, Woods of Windsor True Rose, Aquolina Pink Sugar, Urban Rituelle Cotton Candy, Lancôme La Vie est Belle, Lush Rose Jam, Epically Epic Blue Girl. See a pattern here? 😉

I have had an issue with fragrance over the years due to sensitivity of skin and smell, but I have just got turned on to Tom Ford and OMG I’m in love! I want to try them all, shame price tag is soo high. I’m loving Neroli Portofino so I would say that would be my signature, and Noir (even though it is more for men I still love it.) I want to try Tobacco Vanille and others too. Wish the Private Blend miniature set was more affordable!

Used to be Miss Dior, but now I rotate my scents so much that I don’t think I have a signature anymore. My recent go-to (same with last autumn) is Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EDP.

Maddie Avatar

I would love to find a modern, strong violet note perfume, but it’s hard! Something that smells like Guerlain’s Meteorites! I researched long and hard. Apparently at some point Guerlain did indeed have a Meteorites perfume that was supposed to smell just like them, but has been discontinued for some time now. Just my luck! Anyone with suggestions please help!

Caroline Avatar

You can still find Meteorites occasionally online but it has gone up a bit in price the last few years.
It is one of my all-time favourites and is every bit as lovely as you might imagine. It is GORGEOUS.

Borsara’s Violetta de parma-straight up violet, YSL Paris(violets and roses) and surprisingly Grey Flannel a mens cologne that could be unisex has strong violet notes, very nice. A unique woody violet scent is Serge Lutens Bois de Violette. I own all of the above, like a little violet myself sometimes.

Benefit Cosmetics Crescent Row Fragrance So Hooked on Carmella, love it. It smells fruity, floral and a bit like caramel. People always complement me on it and it’s kind of hard to get so not many people wear it. I have to get it on EBay now though because Sephora and Ulta don’t carry it ant more.

Wwendalynne Avatar

Far too many options out there for a signature scent, but among my current favs:

Oriental Lounge – The Different Company
Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie – Creed
Comme des Garcons Series Luxe: Champaca – Comme des Garcons
Noir de Noir – Tom Ford

Chelle Avatar

Island by Michael Kors (the original scent). It’s unfortunate they don’t make it anymore – I loved that smell so much. But all of my bottles have gone off (yellow and just don’t smell the same anymore). If anyone knows of any close scents, let me know!

Gena Avatar

In cooler weather, Flowerbombe by Viktor & Rolf.
For autumn, Cartier Delicies; I love the cherry and almond notes.
In warm weather, Bobbi Brown Beach (sometimes layered with a bit of Laura Mercier Vanilla) or VS Midnight Dare.
I also loved Sud Comptoir Pacifique’s Vannile Peche, but they don’t make that anymore. ;(

Tam Avatar

I wish I had a signature scent as well! It would definitely be a more simple, less expensive part of my beauty routine if I could just buy one scent.

Sassa Avatar

All time – Chanel Bois des Iles or Chanel 19.
Currently – By Kilian “Sweet Redemption” and Bottega Veneta Eau Legere. I would also add By Kilian “Flower of Immortality”, but it’s so light and so fleeting that I doubt anyone would remember that I was wearing it! Nevertheless, it’s constantly part of my current rotation.

Margreet Avatar

Coco from Chanel since approximately 20 years. I do try/wear something else every now and then, last summer Hermes 24 Faubourg, but I always go back to Coco after a while.

Lizzi Avatar

Always: Armani Code

The husband loves the cheap Jennifer Aniston perfume though. Not my fave, but I’ce been wearing it a lot for him on our date nights these past few years.

Lee Avatar

Dior J’Adore Eau de Toilette – I like all the J’Adore line, I use Eau de Perfume for going out and I’ve asked for the new one for Christmas.

joyce Avatar

Until I ran out, my all-time favorite fragrance was Tocca Touch (the perfume oil, and I’m so sad it was discontinued!) The one I love most now is Bulgari Jasmin Noir.

Chelsea Avatar

Summer: Chanel Chance Eau Tendre – this is my absolute favorite, but it’s not the same during winter…

Winter: Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy – I didn’t think I would like this, my husband bought it for me because he loved it. It’s grown on me.

My issue is I only really am drawn toward summery scents (light florals, fruity florals), and I live in Michigan…

Caroline Avatar

Mitsouko by Guerlain, and Guerlain Meteorites. I almost always wear Mitsouko more than Meteorites because the latter is so hard to find. I have two bottles of it left and am using it very carefully to make it last!

patsyann Avatar

Well, you asked….vintage Arpege…but I now have so many loves…it is hard to pick just a signature scent. After decades of using Arpege, I have branched out to so many niche scents it would be hard to pick just one as a “signature”. Still, if I had to…it would be Arpege. I was wearing that when I met my husband to be…and he is now my husband of 50 years and he still likes me to smell of “Arpege”. Of course, the current version is so far removed from the original that wearing it is now just a token to the past!!

Jen Avatar

Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise. Have loved it since it came out and it’s the go-to I’m-in-a-hurry-and-can’t-dawdle choice. I also love Lush’s Tuca Tuca and Lust.

Rachel Avatar

Overall my scent is Lush-Breath of God. I live for woodsy scents with complexity. The more mysterious the scent the happier I am. On very special occasions (lucky if I use this once a year!) Secret of Venus. The original parfume has long been discontinued and some cheap imposter is marketed now. It’s nectar of the gods! During winter for date night I’m all about Armani Code or Prada Candy. Depends on my mood that night; sultry or flirty.

Most days: Womanity by Thierry Mugler
Special Days: Alien by Thierry Mugler
Previously: Angel & Innocent by Thierry Mugler

Can you tell that I’m a fan of Thierry Mugler’s scents? I love them all.

kellly Avatar

I switch from time to time. Right now I love Body Shop Cranberry and wear it every day. In the past I’ve used Opium (way back when it first came out) and I think it was Coco (Chanel). I am still looking for a perfect, sweet honey that smells like the honey and shea by Couvent de Minimes. I occsionally wear straight labdanum, which I totally love. I think I change with the seasons, too. Last summer I was wearing Aveda – the one that smells like Shampure. I’ve always liked patchouli, too. Last winter it was chocolate. So I guess that’s not really any signature since I switch around so much, but when I have one I like I wear it every day till I change to liking something else.

Stephanie Avatar

I collect a lot of perfume. I have many that I love but the best one is Versace Bright Crystal. I also love Dolce and Gabanna Rose the One

Brenda Avatar

I don’t really have one single perfume but I recall an old boyfriend saying once, when we met a few years later, that my perfume still smelled like me – it was Kenneth Cole for her, in the round puck shaped gold thing (not really a bottle). I still wear it, or Burberry (classic for her) on the days I just want a comforting scent and that’s what people seem to know me as.

Meredith Avatar

Clive Christian No. 1. It is the most elegant, classy fragrance I’ve ever come across. I also love Ivoire by Balmain, Chanel’s 1932 and Cristalle. I love Cristalle in spring and summer but I also love it in fall and winter as it reminds me of cold champagne. I first received Cristalle at Christmastime and still love it all these years later.

guerlain’s spiriteuse double vanille. you can’t get it in australia any more though and i’m devastated!!! it’s the perfect boozy, heavy, vanilla rum… i’m rationing what’s left now. hard.

Denise S. Avatar

I know it’s a good one, I went through two bottles of Spiritueuse double vanille perfume. Try L’Artisan Vanille Absolument it’s a boozy vanilla also. And Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille is another beautiful rich Vanilla perfume.

Li Wen Avatar

I own 40+ full bottles, about 30 of which I regularly wear, so I don’t have a signature scent so much as fragrances that I return to, again and again, and always feel myself in. Some are comfort scents that I wear mostly in the house or to bed, while others are going-out scents, that project a certain personality. The former are more gourmand, spicy orientals; the latter are likely to be chypres, green and woody scents.

Home
Jo Malone Black Amber & Ginger Lily
Serge Lutens Filles en Aiguilles, Ambre Sultan, Musc Kublai Khan
Guerlain L’Heure Bleue

Going Out
Chanel No. 19
Estee Lauder Azuree
Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental
Robert Piguet Bandit
Caron Le Troisieme Homme

I have too many perfumes and I keep buying more! All time, Prada Candy I would imagine. Of the moment, Long Winter Farm’s Dark Witch. It’s the incense fragrance I’ve always wanted. This is the third perfume shop that I found through Etsy that pleased me so immensely.

Maja Avatar

Chanel Chance. It’s perfect. I used to have a nice collection of perfumes, but since buying that, it’s all I want to wear. I still appreciate different fragrances and love to smell new releases or ones I’ve never tried, but I’ve decided it’s pointless to own anything aside from Chance.

Kathy Avatar

I’m loving Arabian Oud Kalemat since receiving it this week, but I’d have to say my signature fragrance is “Fracas” by Robert Piguet. I’m a perfume junkie though, so I could never wear just a few!

Karen Avatar

When you say signature I think of the last one for me as Chloe which I made signature by adding a patchouli, a clove and I think a rose petal. Other than that I switch up all the time Illamasqua Freak, Chanel No 5, Coco Mademoiselle, Tom Ford Violet Blonde, Black Orchid, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, VS Love Rocks, Bombshell. Lately Honey by Marc Jacobs and BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre none of which have been customized – yet.

Safyre Avatar

Gucci Flora – the original. I had gotten a sample from sephora.com once, just because I like to try fragrance samples, and fell in utter love with it.

shelley Avatar

So hard to choose only one: Ambre Passion by Laura Mercier, Ambre by Prada, Shizandra (?) by Chantecaille, Love in Black by Creed, Midnight Fleurs by Nest.

Diane Avatar

Currently, Kenzo’s Amour. My all-time would be the OLD, original version of Must de Cartier, before they changed the formula back in the 90s. The first time I ever applied it, I walked around all day smelling my wrist. I couldn’t stop. It’s all I wore. I’ve never loved a scent as much as I loved that one, hands down. I wasn’t aware there had been a change to the scent’s formula until I ordered another bottle in the late 90s, sprayed a liberal amount on my neck and wrists, and almost gagged. I wish they’d just left it as it was. 🙁
