What's your current lip care routine?

What’s your current lip care routine? Share!
Every two to three days (as needed), I exfoliate in the morning using a lip scrub (I use this one right now). During the day, I’m usually testing some lip color (whether gloss, lipstick, or something else), but if I’m not, then I have Jack Black Lip Balm on. Otherwise, I apply that lip balm before I go to bed.

Lush lips scrub and eos lip balm is what im using. Its very cold here in Canada and i feel like i need to use a better lip balm though. Would love to read the rest of the comments so i can have an idea.

It’s darn cold in canada that’s for sure! Iv been using a mix of Burt’s bees bees wax lip balm and EOS at night time (because they last longer, so they protect my lips from the heater :D) and then I use Carmex during the day because of the SPF!

Right now my lip care routine is very simple. Just started using BITE BEAUTY AGAVE LIP MASK. I wake up in the morning and my lips are SUPER SOFT! The flavor is AMAZING! If this is ever discontinued, I will have a meltdown.

I am currently using Lush’s sugar lip scrub, Bite Cinnamon oil and Carmex balm or Epically Epic Soap Co balms ( I love them). I also like using Garnier’s roller ball thingy on my lips, it has improved the texture of my lips noticibly, although it really does squat for my under eye puffy (thinking outside the box, if it doesn’t work there, maybe it will work some where… I hate wasting anything). I would like to try Dior’s plumping balm, and would love to know if anyone has used it, I have seen some good reviews but I’m still on the fence about it. Would love to hear any feedback. 🙂

I exfoliate once or twice a week with Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub (I got a jar for Xmas) and at night, or during the day when I’m at home, I apply Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm. I keep various glosses and balms at my desk, in the kitchen, at school, even in my coat pocket so I can reapply frequently during the day (right now where I am, the temps are so low they’re advising people to stay indoors and even road salt isn’t melting the ice on the roads and with the “wind chill” effect, temperatures feel like -30C to -40C so a really “occlusive” lip balm with little to no water in it is a “must have” for outside)

Honestly, apply lip balm when I remember (which is maybe once ever two weeks), lol. I do exfoliate very gently with a moist washcloth every morning, though. I really should start taking better care of my lips, they are always extremely dry and sometimes even cracked and bleeding 🙁 I just hate the feeling of something on my lips so I either try to avoid putting something on or forget about it completely.

Every morning and night as I’m brushing my teeth, I rinse my toothbrush and then use it to exfoliate my lips. Afterward, I pat them dry with a tissue and apply my Carmex lip balm. I also use this lip balm throughout the day as needed and under my lip color. I have naturally dry lips, and this routine seems to do the trick as long as I don’t skip days.

Hi Christine! I can’t believe I haven’t tried Jack Black Lip Balm yet considering all of the wonderful things you always have to say about it. Have you tried each of the scents? The grapefruit ginger sounds like it would be right up my alley! I’m just wondering if it, and each of the other scents, are just as good at the original. Happy weekend! 🙂

I have basically all of the scents that have been released over the last 3 years and they all work the same! The grapefruit/ginger one is my favorite of the permanent scents!

Grapefruit & Ginger is not very gingery, so as long as you like grapefruit, it’s good! (I was hoping for a little more ginger.)

Lemon & _____ (is it Chamomile?) smells just like lemon pez, which I like very much. It lives in my purse.

Blackberry & Tea is good, very berry-y with a hint of tea. It was my favorite, I lost it at the airport, later ordered a new one–that I’ve not broken into because I want to finish one of the other two open ones first. 🙂

A couple of times a week I used a lip scrub, either one from LUSH or Julep (I use the Julep scrub if my lips seems extremely dry). I also use a lip balm every morning and before I go to sleep at night.

I love using NUXE Reve de Miel in the evenings. During the day I will use either Lucas’ PaPaw Ointment or Bite Agave Lip Mask. The Bite mask is a new product and it is incredible! It is kinda hard to get out of the tube, but you only need the tiniest bit and it lasts a long time. When I was in store trying it out, I put some on my hand next to some lipsticks I had swatched. When I used the makeup remover to take off the swatches, the lip mask was still on my hand! Also, every night when I wash my face I run my washcloth over my lips to take off any flakey dead skin. That’s about the only exfoliating my lips need.

So, my lips apparently love castor oil and petroleum products, so other people’s mileage may vary. Lately, I’ve been loving two balms, but they’re potted, so I only use them at home–Vasoline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips and TonyMoly Prestige Snail Lip Treatment. Yep, I’m one of the crazy people that has been trying out skincare with snail goo in it, so the last time I made a korean skincare order, I tossed in a lip balm. I’ve been using those mostly a night, occasionally in the morning. When I’m out, I use the Jack Black lip balm in my purse.

I keep forgetting to exfoliate my lips, as every other day, they want to shed an entire layer of skin in one go. It happens more often than I’d want to use a scrub or anything for, so I think I need to try the “using an ultra soft toothbrush” method.

my lips are never dry, but they get super peely regularly and need exfoliation all the time (if anyone knows of ways to reduce this, please let me know!) currently i use lush’s bubblegum lip scrub (it tastes so good and smells amazing) and a lush lip balm though the covergirl wetslicks amazemint worked really well as a lip balm and gloss all at once for me on really lazy days

I have very full lips. They can look very odd if swollen or if my skin is thirsty. So low salt and lots of water, exercise and rest are my allies. Those are four issues that require discipline and I don’t always have that level of discipline. So to compensate, I keep a lip balm on hand nearly 24/7.

I’ll have to try the scrub.

lush mint julep lip scrub followed with lush whip stick, the mint and chocolate orange combo go so well together. philosophy cinnamon buns lip shine and hurraw vanilla bean lip balm in my purse. hurraw night balm before bed.

My lips are so dry, and..I live in Utah! I have to exfoliate everyday in the morning, or I can’t wear lipstick. I just use sugar, and it works really well. I let eos lip balm in Passion Fruit soak in while I’m doing the rest of my makeup, blot, use Mac’s Prep and Prime lip, then apply lip liner and lipstick. Before bed I put on more lip balm and let it soak in over night.

I wouldn’t call it a routine per say… A few weeks ago I tried Elizabeth Arden’s * hour cream for the first time and I was hooked. I use it every day, especially before going to bed. The smell was awful in the beginning, but now I hardly notice it and my lips have never looked better. It’s amazing! I used to always get peeling, regardless of the type of lip balm I was using, but my lips simply don’t peel anymore. It’s fantastic, especially because I’ve started using red lipsticks a lot and my lips are always ready for them, no exfoliation required any longer :).

I’ve been wearing a lot of matte lipsticks recently and I wear a quite waxy matte lip balm with SPF underneath, which is not as hydrating as I would wish. I’m a huge lip balm wearer – I need it around me all the time – but I’ve actually decided to try to reduce my use of lip balm. I think when you have dry lips that’s a sympton of bodily dehydration, and the only way to cure that is by drinking water. When you slather on tons of lip balm every day, you’re just masking the real problem. Now I’m reminding myself to drink water when I feel my lips are dry rather than reach for the balm all the time.

Katie Avatar

Christine, gave you tried malin and goetz lip balm? It’s like Jack Black but thicker and more hydrating making it a perfect night time lip treatment
