Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 Review & Photo

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Man or Woman, Jack Black Loves Lips

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 ($7.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a new wonder in the Temptalia household!  What’s interesting about the Jack Black line is it is geared towards men, but thank goodness there’s no rule against women using it, too.

Designed from the ground up, Jack Black was created to appeal to the Guy’s Guy. Keeping it simple with superior products specially formulated for a man’s needs. Nothing complicated. Nothing cosmetic. Just real solutions that provide immediate visible results.

I’ve been using this about two and a half weeks now, and I love it.  I really, truly think it’s an outstanding lip balm that does everything it needs to do perfectly.  It fits into pockets and purses with ease, and it’s easy to apply–just squeeze a bit and out comes just enough to give lips a good coat of hydration.  Funny enough, when I’ve been experiencing packaging that gives me too much, Jack Black’s squeeze-tube takes a little more squeezin’ to get the product out than you’d expect (we’re not talking like squeezing an orange effort, or anything, though!).  I’ve never gotten too much product out in a squeeze, so I don’t feel like I ever waste any either.

During the day, I often wear lipstick and/or gloss, so I have been primarily using this at night.  I slick it on around 10 PM, and even when I wake up at 5 or 6 AM, I still feel a good bit of it on.  It really hangs on, and it keeps lips completely hydrated.  I feel like I need to exfoliate less, and I’m not constantly reapplying lip balm every few hours.

It’s available in two variations — one is the natural mint, which has a very cooling, minty feel when on (as well as the scent–but it smells natural, not synthetic or sweet); the other is lemon and chamomile, which reminds me a little of lemonade sipped outside on the deck during late summer.

I fully intend on stocking up on these the next time Sephora has a sale going on, but until then, I will definitely repurchase whenever I’m out of the first tube (probably in a few weeks).  It seems a little pricey at first, but given that this isn’t a drugstore brand and compared against other similarly-priced brands, you get a good amount for the money, which will last you at least a month, I’d guesstimate.  (I’m on my third week, and I use it once or twice a day on average.)

Oh, and it has SPF 25 in it.  That’s always a nice, added bonus!  And 25!  Very, very hard to find lip balm with that level of SPF in it.

The company I worked for here in Dallas used to mfg. this Lip Balm…it is really an exceptional product. It seems pricey for a Lip Balm but it really works and leaves your lips very moisturized…They are very meticulous about their products being of high quality

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with this! My lips have never looked so good and it’s only $7.50 in Canadian Sephoras which I very much appreciate (usually the prices get really jacked up here).

I saw it included in the Sephora Sunscreen kit an wondered if that was any good cause I’m looking for a good balm with SPF in it, the one I have is really crappy.

I love this stuff too. I’ve had my tube since January and use it nightly. I have about two-thirds left. It was very useful for travelling to drier climates (like Vegas) because my friend fell in love with it too cuz her other balms she packed weren’t working. I’m going to get the mini with the Sephora Sun Kit soon; it looks even better for travel!

I’m definitely going to grab a tube of this the next time I’m in. A lot of balms aren’t… enough for my very dry lips and this will probably do nicely.

This is my favorite lip balm. If you wanted to save a little more, you could buy the set of 3 that comes out around the holidays. It’s always like $1.50 cheaper than buying them individually. Oh and, one tube lasts me about 2-3 months (I apply it about 3 times a day.)

This lip balm is amazing and definitely my HG lip balm! I originally bought a three-pack for my boyfriend, cause I knew he loved it, and I tried some and I ended up stealing two of them back. They’re really fabulous. I believe it comes in an acai berry variation too!

This stuff is great! I tried the mint first, but found it to be ultraminty. I’m not a huge mint fan. Next I tried the lemon & chamomile. It is perfect. Haven’t tried whatever the purple labeled one is yet.

7 bucks actually isnt bad. Its the same price as the CO bigelow mentha lip balm. Speaking of which , how do they compare ? Is this a better product or do they serve the same purpose?

just wondering if you ever tried the fresh lip treatment and if so what you thought of that? and mac lip conditioner the one that’s in a regular lipstick tube? i def have to pick this up

I bought this product last week at a Sephora in Canada, and oddly the packaging is not labelled with the “SPF 25” label as the ones seen on the website (from the U.S. I presume!)…does the product still have the same spf in Canada? I would love to know as I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a really good lip balm with an acceptable level of sunscreen 🙂

Dee Avatar

I did! I also contacted the company and they assured my that the product sold in Canada does have the SPF 25. I’m loving this lip balm 🙂

I finally got around to ordering the black tea & blackberry and grapefruit & ginger duo from Sephora online a couple of weeks ago and I’ve had them for a few days now and I’m in LOVE. I wish it wasn’t so far away to the nearest store because I never want to be out of arm’s reach of one of these again! Thanks for the amazing recommendation!

This is the best nighttime/overall lip balm!! When I wake up in the morning its still there and my lips don’t feel all dry anymore! During winter my lips seem to always have cracks no matter what but with this stuff I never have to exfoliate! And I love that it has SPF, because my other favorite lip balm is EOS but the only one that has SPF is the lemon one which is greasier than the others >.<

This lip balm gave me a terrible skin rash. I really wanted to love it since you recommended it. And I paid significantly more to get it to me since I live in Barbados.
