What would immediately make you interested in a highlighter?

Interesting colors — there are just so many golds and coppers that anything outside of those makes me curious!

At this point, it would probably have to stall the progression of climate change for me to be interested. LOL.

For me, this is a most highly dispensable part of the cosmetic arsenal. I have a couple in the relevant shades and often forget to use them. I hope to never buy another, as for me, they are not worth the money.

I guess other folks like them because they keep on producing them.

Not much, really. I guess MAC. I don’t do the mermaid or unicorn highlighter thing and while it’s neat to look at, I’d never wear it as an everyday look and most likely not even as a special event look. The last makeover I got from MAC, they used one of the extra dimension skinfinishes on me (Beaming Blush or Double Gleam, can’t remember) and it looked great. It was very subtle and went with the overall look. If I tried experimenting with it on my own, I wouldn’t look at a duochrome or trichrome and go, “OH! I know what would look good with this!” So if I went and got a makeover and it was used, then I’d probably get it and use it with that look, but as far as seeing one and thinking I have to have it, I have an organizer full already.

I don’t care for highlighters that have glitter so that would be a no-no but other than that it is most related to what will look good on my very pale skin and what doesn’t exaggerate texture on my skin. I use highlighter usually everyday but very small amount so the ones that I have now will last me the rest of my life, I am sure. I am not into the really different colors primarily because my fair complexion makes them appear like bruises or some weird dust fell on my cheek bones. I do want to try out the new Becca one though. I can’t remember the name right this instant but I will check for it the next time I go to Spokane.

A really amazing cream/powder hybrid formula. I like how creams and liquids bond with and look like they are part of the skin. I like powders as the trnd to have more oompf and do not interfere with base products. I’m thinking along the lines of becca beach tint, but more like highlighter not blush/highlighter hybrid. Of course it would have to be that much better with a product that doesn’t dry out. Oh and preferably colours other than copper and gold.. yawn. Not asking too too much.

If I can see it working really well with my somewhat fickle skintone, then I’m at least interested! I say “fickle”, because like many other olive toned people, my skin can look quite different depending on the lighting. It’s really WEIRD.

Another thing that will sell itself to me, is if it doesn’t emphasize pores and skin texture.

Oh, and I DO love the more unique, even somewhat out there shades, ie; KVD Alchemist Emerald and Saphyre! Not sure *how*, but those 2 look very good on me?!?

Interesting tones and a non-glittery highlight. Irisdiscent, for sure. I used MAC Triple Impact as highlighter before ‘unicorn’ anything was a thing, and now I’m delighted to see the tones coming out. Right now my favorite is Becca Opal flashes Jade, I also use UD Fireball (the eyeshadow) when I want something warmer.

Anything with a white base and an interesting color shift. Laura Mercier’s Diamond Dust is one that I’ve been using non-stop since I picked it up, it just looks so pretty.

Golds and coppers just don’t work with my skin tone, so anything white (or pink, now that I’m thinking about it) interests me. I adore highlighters so let me apologize to anyone who’s tired of this trend, I’m the one that keeps buying them. 🙂
