I am rarely impressed by a mascara (I’m into a natural defined look, I don’t like the almost false lash effect mascaras that usually gets hyped), and MAC Magic Extension Mascara actually made me want to repurchase it (I usually also don’t care that much about using a specific mascara).

If it wasn’t such a pain in the butt to remove, I would have to put Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof mascara as my favorite for the amazing results it gives to my straight, sparse lashes (I ALWAYS curl them before using any mascara, though!). But, because there is that issue with getting it off, I suppose that my old standby, L’Oreal Lash Paradise WP is it.
I may try taking the HML&CSWPM off using Vaseline before completely giving up on it entirely. Because it holds a curl no matter what, is life-proof, and makes my lashes look like I have falsies on!

I have been a diehard MAC waterproof Haute & Naughty in black for a decade, but they discontinued it 😤 I tried Essence, waterproof mascara in black and love it. My lashes are coated and hold the curl but don’t feel crispy.

One I just purchased – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Builds my sparse lashes without clumping. I’ve only used a couple of times but have been impressed. The second I have used for awhile now – Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme. I like the brushes on both of these as well.

I did try and like a new mascara in 2023 – L’Oreal’s Paradise Black Mascara that was included as a GWP after spending a certain amount in at Priceline (kind of like your Ulta store), It turned out to be very good. I’m not really a mascara person as such, although I do wear it quite often.
But what I do really, truly miss is Clinique’s Navy Blue mascara – which they d/c and was THE best navy blue mascara ever.

Lancome Grand Monsuir and unfortunately because they support the genocide in palestine I will no longer be purchasing any brand that gives money to kill steal and destroy. 🇵🇸💔 my heart is broken as I witness the terror the men women & children are suffering and I shudder to think somehow buying make up supports war .. as they bombed churches mosques …, snipers killing people Christmas is cancelled in Bethlehem 🙏🏽

I received a sample of Gucci mascara from Sephora and splurged. It is possibly the best mascara I’ve used in a long time. No clumping, does not flake during the day which is a must with contact lenses. There is a little length and curl with this, just enough to look natural.

I tried quite a few new mascaras this yr but the Florasis Pine Soot Precision Definition is the only one that became a favorite. I rotated between it and my two long time favorites, Dior Diorshow Buildable Volume and L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black waterproof. I have naturally long but sparse lashes and all 3 have a drier formula that allows me to build multiple coats for fluttery, separated volume without clumping, flaking or smudging.

I have deep-set, watery eyes that make anything but tubing (and some waterproof) mascaras impossible to wear without getting major panda eyes, but goshdarn if the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes mascara isn’t a beautiful formula. It volumizes, lengthens, and defines without getting clumpy or looking too much like falsies (I’m not opposed to dramatic mascara, it’s just not something I wear most days!).

It’s not waterproof, so I only wear it when I don’t expect to be in public for very long (it’s fine for a field trip or errands marathon, but it does transfer to my undereyes by the end of a day trip).

I tried Clinique High Impact, which was okay. I really liked Milk makeup’s mascara for a natural look but I wish it was in a dark brown to match the energy. I liked rose inc’s mascara the most for volume, colour and removal. But a new one I was impressed the most by was Velour lashes. They just didn’t add lumps, but gave volume and length. But I’ve only been wearing it a short while.
