What was the last product you hit pan on?

What was the last product you hit pan on? (Or the product’s equivalent of “pan”.) Share!

I’m down to the end of one of my Guerlain Gems lipsticks 🙁 I only have one back-up (which is also partially used already).

Thanks to Elsa for today’s question! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.

BareMinerals Prime Time Primer (bottle is almost used up); hit pan on e.l.f. blush in Gotta Glow and e.l.f. Studio HD Mattifying Balm.

The Catrice LE bronzing powder from the Hip Trip Collection. Perfect for contouring my NC20 face. It has 23 grams of product so it’s a miracle to hit pan on it.

Ceranna Avatar

My Neutrogena shine control powder. It’s not my favorite, but I keep it in my work bag in case I forget my makeup clutch and I end up in shine city. It works in a pinch but it leaves a slight white cast on me.

The last thing I hit pan on was my Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder foundation. Compared to liquid foundation it’s easy to carry about with me and I can just throw some on when I need to. I have a new one now and I’m going through that one pretty quickly!

Laura_Lou Avatar

In the last few weeks I’ve hit pan/finished a few products that I use day in day out. I’ve hit pan on MAC Brule, Bobbi Brown Powder Pink Pot Rouge, MAC Mineralize Skinfinsh Natural in Light and I’ve finished another tube of UD Primer Potion and my UD Demolition liner pencil is own to a little stub. Kind of annoying that I’m gonna have to repurchase it all at the same time 🙁

HA!!! There was a time when MAC Desert Rose was pretty much my only blush and I hit pan on it more than 5 years ago but I rarely use it now (it’s in one of my gym bags for the rare times when I’m not flushed enough after leaving the gym or yoga that I need cheek colour – I probably haven’t touched it in at least a year). I’ve never even come close to hitting pan on an eyeshadow or any of the other 20 or more blushes that I own. I did finish up a bottle of Clarins foundation last year (pretty proud of myself for that) and a tube of IT’s CC cream is pretty much done (I cut the crimp off, since you can’t take off the top once the pump stops working!)

Unfortunately, my favorite my-lips-but-better color, Shiseido’s The Makeup Shimmering lipstick in SL4 – it’s the only color I’ve ever really loved that makes me look healthy and glowing and works equally well on the cheeks as a highlighter+blush combination and on my lips as a beautifully moisturizing, almost stained glow. It’s like a combination between a flush and a glow. I’m so bummed they discontinued this! I haven’t been able to find anything that gives the same effect on me. I’ve even tried buying it on eBay, but the seller sent me a different shade with the SL4 label on it!

KaseyCannuck Avatar

The only products I finish are skincare and mascara. I just finished an Olay Daily Renewal Cream and my Maybelline Lash Stilleto mascara is just about done. I panned my Lancôme Photogenic Pressed Powder ages ago and now have the tiniest bit around the edge. I will keep using it until it’s completely gone since it’s my favourite powder and of course, DC’d

MAC Pro Shaping Powder in Emphasize — aaaalmost used up, can see lots of pan. I use it as a non dulling setting powder, as it’s a great match for my skin tone.

Last product I actually used up: YSL sheer balm lipstick in Sweet Fig. Ooooh, and NARS sheer glow foundation in Siberia. Repurchased both of these recently.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (for the second time!). I use it as a setting/finishing powder from hairline to neckline — expensive, I know, but I swear that it plus the IT Cosmetics CC Cream are the reasons my 58 year old skin regularly gets unsolicited compliments. I also recently hit pan on the Radiant Light in the Ambient Lighting palette, and purchased a single of it. Other recent repurchases are FAB Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer, Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water, the basic Boscia konjac sponge, Aveeno Ultra Calming makeup removing wipes (I’ve been tired/lazy lately), and Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid. I go through skin care a lot faster than color cosmetics!

Samantha Avatar

Have you tried Guerlain Meteorites? They are a similar price but offer a lot more product. As a setting powder, I find the two to be similar.

Fran Avatar

Products with any kind of scent almost always irritate my facial skin (I think because of my rosacea), so for that reason I haven’t tried Meteorites. There are a lot of great products that I can’t use because of that sensitivity. But thanks for the suggestion! I do love the Ambient Lighting Powders, they are a product that just works beautifully with my skin, so I don’t really mean to complain. At least in the super-hot, humid weather we’re having now my skin is oily enough that I can set with another powder first and use the Ambient Lighting Powder for finishing only.

It is difficult for me to hit ‘pan’ on anything other than skincare, haircare, bodycare. I do not wear makeup every day and right now we are so busy I haven’t worn a stitch of makeup in 4 or 5 days.. so despite my absolute love and passion for everything cosmetics, it doesn’t happen often. I did hit pan last year on MAC Patina, but doubt I will hit pan on the replacement: far too many other pretties at this point.

Meghan Avatar

I’m the same! I go through skincare & bodycare pretty well but even hair care takes a long time for me & I have long, long hair. I’m trying to be good and finish a foundation (I have way too many!), but other than that I don’t usually get completely through any cosmetics (of which I own way too much! I’m a collector? Haha). I love playing with makeup when I get the chance & if I’m ‘going out’ but that’s not often.

If it weren’t for products like Oribe dry texturizing spray, I would be forever with hair products too. It takes me ages to go through a bottle of shampoo as I now have super short hair and the hoarder in me has to buy the big giant jugs of Aveda with the pump. I spent most of my life with past my shoulders long hair and can’t seem to clue in I need much much less. Ugh..and I never finish conditioners before I’m onto something else and my partner, he does not use conditioner whatsoever, so useless to try and browbeat him into using (I can with the enormous bottles of shampoos..teehee). So Meghan, a big giant ditto .. 😀

Meghan Avatar

I really want to try the Oribe spray but I’m having a hard time finding a place online that ships to Northern Canada! I just love the Aveda shampoo & conditioner too but the hoarder in me has to finish the ones I have right now, dang it! 😛

I’m not sure which was most recent, but this month’s ’empties’ are Tarte’s Light, Camera, Flashes mascara; a bottle of Seche Vite topcoat; and my go-to Nivea Kiss of Cherry lip balm. I’m saddest about the lip balm, since Nivea recently reformulated it and I don’t care for the new texture or color.

Georgina Avatar

Nars Deep Throat blush – just last week. I’ve had it for years but only use it in Spring so it’s taken a good while to hit pan.

A Avatar

I actually managed to hit pan on a blush the other day (Estee Lauder Sensuous Rose) which really surprised me.

Also unrelated question Christine: I entered my foundation (Armani Luminous Silk in shade 6) in the foundation matrix and it came up with completely the wrong shades (I find it similar to UD Naked Skin in 4.0). Is there a way to submit a correction or something?

Lacey Avatar

An Anastasia brow powder that was a couple years old when they changed their packaging, and that seems like it was a couple years ago. It’s lasted forever! But now that I’ve hit pan, it’s crumbling rapidly. Definitely got my money’s worth in that little powder.

Jennifer Avatar

MAC Nude on Board pro-longwear bronzer…it’s my favorite bronzer and I had assumed it was permanent but now that I look at their website I don’t see it on there 🙁

Katie Avatar

A few colors in the KvD Shade + Light Palette, as well as Sidecar in my Naked palette. NYX HD concealer and Revlon Colorstay foundation.

Nicole Avatar

I’m close to emptying a MUFE old formula lab shine gloss in s2. I have about 1/3 left of it. I do far haven’t had luck in finding a dupe. Such a great formula. I have some of the new mufe glosses. These old ones were way better!Bring them back Mufe!

Lotus Avatar

They’re still stock left at some places! They’ll be happy to assist! Another great nude gloss other than Tom Ford, is Rouge Volupte Shine Gloss in Nude Carat! 🙂 Hope this helps, sweetie!

Gabby Avatar

I just hit pan on Righteous in the UD Pulp Fiction palette. Getting them into a Z palette made such a difference with these since I hated the bulky packaging! I’m also pretty close to the end of a Blackbird Cosmetics shade called Imogen, another basic neutral matte.

Megz Avatar

Nothing too exciting recently, just MAC Brule, though I have quite a few products showing pan. Last month I hit pan on my second Naked Lunch.

Lee Avatar

I just hit pan on Benefit Dandelion! It’s one of the first “high end” blushes I bought (along with Nars Orgams) maybe in 2001? or 2002? So almost 15 years of use. I use once or twice a week but with a light hand.

Tiffanie Avatar

Probably my Make Up Forever Dual Finish powder, but I just realized I repurchased the wrong color, so that will be exchanged soon. Also, I just had to replace my Bare Minerals Matte Foundation. I mix two colors and I ran out of the Medium Deep. It’s my HG summer foundation.

As far as color products, my MAC Swiss Chocolate (great crease/transition color) is down to the ring around the pan. I’m holding out until it’s completely gone though.

Tiffanie Avatar

Oh, I’m not sure if this qualifies as “hitting pan” but I recently finished another ABH Brow Wiz and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Karen Avatar

My most recent “hit pan” was on Elf Setting Mist. And I’m close to hitting pan on Lace Teddy and Nudie from the Too Faced Natural Matte palette.

Raeanne Avatar

I have only hit pan on a few finishing powders, and mascara. I am really close to hitting pan on Maybelline Touch of Spice matte – I imagine I’ll need to repurchase this fall or winter.

Sarah M. Avatar

I finished my Loreal Price JLo nude lipstick today. Sad that I can’t get it again!! But I’m on a mission to use up my lipsticks. 🙂

Danielle Avatar

I just hit pan on my Benefit Hoola bronzer! It’s the best bronzer I’ve found for my light skin without being too light 🙂

Kris Avatar

I can’t remember the last time I hit pan on an eyeshadow or a blush. If we’re including the equivalent of pan, then that would be my Benefit Fakeup concealer. I essentially depotted wat was left (a ton!) and put it in an empty eye cream jar. I’ve been using that for weeks.

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

Laura Mercier powder foundation and IT Cosmetics powder foundation. Odd that I’d hit pan in both about the same time. Close to pan on several colors in my NAKED palettes.
Couldn’t begin to list skin care and primers.

Sherri Avatar

Macs Emphasize , love it ! Nyx hd concealor OMG it’s so high end performance wise! Mac fix +! And rimmel stay matte pressed powder !!!!!!

Cayley Avatar

Hourglass ALP in Ethereal Light. I use it as a setting powder – I’m fair and don’t mind a little glow. I will probably re-buy as I absolutely loved it and now that I use sunscreen religiously, I probably won’t toast up in the summer like I used to. Vampire at the beach!

IRockFaces Avatar

Colourpop game face and a few more of their most popular shades. The good thing about their colors is the price is so low you can just get another one when your ready since their just $5 each. The not so good part is their formulas sometimes makes it hard to use their colors as anything other than lid shades, and it takes a long time to get the same intensity if you use a brush instead of your fingers.

Christy Avatar

I don’t seem to ever hit pan on eyeshadows, blushes, finishing powders, or lipsticks with one exception. I do regularly use up:
– KissMe Heroine Make Liquid Eyeliner (black)
– Loreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara
– Rouge Bunny Rouge Coconut Milk Foundation
– Rouge Bunny Rouge Prelude in the Clouds Aqua Primer
– Rouge Bunny Rouge Murmerings Lipstick

Kat Avatar

I “hit pan” on quite a few things in the past few weeks actually. I definitely can tell that I’m a few uses from hitting pan on my ABH brow powder, since I only use the warmer of the two colors. I can see pan on my Cover FX powder, but I have a backup in my purse. My mascara also dried up recently, but that’s not nearly as satisfying as hitting pan on a powder. I’m pretty sure I’m nearing the end of my Studio Fix fluid as well, it’s taking more pumps to get the same amount of product out. It never settles at the bottom so I can’t really see how much is left! Oh, and I only have a few more uses of my Too Faced Primed and Poreless primer.

Lotus Avatar

I’ve rarely hit own pan on anything because I play with something different every time and I love jumping around! Skincare, hair & bodycare are things I actually do use up and recently I’ve almost finished my 3rd Clarins Lip Comfort Oil, I did finish a Sunday Riley Good Genes, and a bag of a wellness shake/smoothie mix, close to nearing “pan” in Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Lip Conditioner.. And a MAC Strada has hit pan as well as a UD Purple Haze & Legal. I feel accomplished finishing anything. 🙂

Anastasia dipbrow pomade (medium brown)
I bought it in March and hit pan (or jar.. Lol) in May

A nude shade in the UD 16th anniversary palette

Makeup forever aqua cream hot pink shade that’s meant for lips and cheeks.
Bought that one YEARS ago.

MAC impassioned lipstick.

There are other products but I hit pan on those last year or earlier this year. The ones mentioned are recent

Tatiana Avatar

Burberry Trench eyeshadow. I have no idea what I’m going to replace it with. It was my go to eyeshadow that went with everything. I like that it’s not sparkly or glittery.

Erica Avatar

Quite a few things: Laura Mercier translucent powder, Mac Natural Skinfinsh, Mac color corrector in the single pan and the concealer palette (really loved this). Anastasia Dipbrow in Chocolate. I had this for 18 months and finally finished it! I bought the MUFE brow gel during the Sephora fall sale and looking forward to using it. MUFE products are my sweethearts for the moment.

michelle maffia Avatar

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess matte bronzer. Love this stuff. Its THE most natural bronzer I’ve ever used. Hit pan on at least 8! I use it everyday and lasts about 6-8 months.

Paz Avatar

I always hit the pan on my blushes because I own only one and wear it every day. I rarely buy the same one though, because by the time I’ve used it out, I’m already bored with it. Also, the dark brown color on the Essence eyebrow powder set. It’s the only eyebrow product I’ve ever tried, and I’m not changing it anytime soon because it works well on me and I’m not ready to get adventurous with my eyebrows.
