What was the last makeup look you wore and loved how it turned out?

I really enjoyed the way several of the Sydney Grace summer eyeshadows came together in a colorful tropical look (yellow, green, teal) with a pop of pink (here).

It’s a look I almost always wear to go out at night…a look I’ve probably put in my Temptalia “Favorite Look Worn” comment too many times! It involves Dior’s Backstage Cool eye palette, Chanel Stylo Yeux eye pencil in Charme for lower lash line, Sephora Black Lace eye pencil or upper lash line, and the mascara du jour. I always pair this eye look with Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Pink Explosion and Dior Nude Luminizer in Pink Glow. I switch up the lipstick for this look, but my regulars are Chanel Pirate, MAC All Fired Up, Guerlain #21, and Laura Mercier Boudoir.

Lately, I have been entirely too predictable. Nothing comes to mind and jumps out at me. I tried to work the intense pigments in the Riviera palette and I barely managed to rescue a look before heading out the door, but I def wasn’t happy with it either. I seem to only gravitate to the shimmers in this palette and then I fall back to my usuals:
Viseart Liason
Kevyn Aucoin Nude Pop
Nabla Soul Blooming
Nabla Poison Garden
PMG Bronze Seduction
Sydney Grace custom
MJ Steel(etto)

I consistently work from these palettes. I know I can’t go wrong, but I’m probably a little creatively challenged right now.

I’ve been in a real makeup rut the last few weeks to where I haven’t been using anything at all. But this week, I have forced myself to use things, so I’ve been trying to use a different palette a day or for a few days. That way I can use more of my stash.

The latest look I did that I really loved was using the PMG Mothership II palette. I used the pinker toned shimmer in my crease, which is a step outside of my comfort zone, and then I used the glittery shades on my lid. I really liked it. It was super glam and easy, much too glam for work, but I still loved it.

I also used my Melt Gemini palette, by grabbing one of the green mattes and throwing it into my crease and using Hourglass’ Smoke on the lid. Super effortless and glam. Again too glam for work, but it was really pretty.

The last look that I created and loved was using the Colourpop Sweet Talk palette. It’s just perfect for Spring. You can create a lovely daytime look or smoke it out for evening! The color shock shadow in the palette adds such a perfect glimmer of color on the eyelid!

I had a very, very rare day off from both jobs today, so I busted out the PMG Bronze Seduction palette and did your 9.0 look with Divine Skinshow on the browbone. It turned out beautifully! I almost always do a nude lip with a strong eye look anyway (think Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock Chick look, but with reds, pinks, purples and plums) so other than using a metallic in my crease – which I never do – it was well within my comfort zone. It just turned out so nicely that I’ll definitely do it again. Thanks for the great plan, Christine!

Actually, today! I did a wash of KVD Malice from lashline to just under browbone, then layered Sephora Vampire Lovers over Malice from lashline to crease. I finished the look off with Rouge Louboutin mascara, Tarte Unstoppable blush, and Sephora Lipstories Hong Kong by Night lipstick.

I don’t have a current go to look, but am loving my ABH Sultry pallette most, even over the Soft Glam and PM Sublime Platinum Bronz. I am responding because I smiled at your love of MAC’s All Fired Up. I love the color but the color is too much for my coloring. Still…I own 2 of them!! After realizing, I considered creating a spreadsheet to help avoid…buying a 3rd!! ?

So I finally started using Marc Jacobs Beauty eye-conic coconut palette and fall in love with dirty pink/coral colours: Fantasy and On the Dancefloor. Using just two of them makes my eyes pop (I have green eyes). Even my grandad complimented me on them, and he is not a make-up person 😉
