They have my attention
Even though the shades aren’t exactly groundbreaking or anything, the formula sounds quite interesting!
Does anyone know how the ingredients compare to the Amuse Bouche line? I’ve discovered I’m allergic to something in that formula (it was also in the French Press glosses) but I don’t know what the specific ingredient is and I wish I could try more of their products without risking a giant rash around my lips. ?
In the French Press glosses, the 4th ingredient listed is Glyceryl Rosinate, a known and documented cosmetic contact allergen that has the potential to cause contact dermatitis if applied topically. It is present in the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks as well, high up on the ingredient list (top ten). It might be this one if you get that rash after each/repetitive applications, but I’m not a doctor.
Personally, I love Bite Beauty lip products as they have mostly “clean” ingredients and one of the best formulas, but if you are sensitive to Glyceryl Rosinate, this is a component high up on the ingredient list and common to both formulas (Amuse Bouche bullet and French Press).
Could be the citrus oil in the orange peel wax, the peppermint oil, or the beeswax all of those can be irritants for people.
I am allergic to their Agave Lip Mask. It causes my lips to tingle really badly and go numb. I haven’t experienced any other reactions from their products, but I am not surprised others have experienced issues. Natural, while great, isn’t always better b/c there are a lot of natural things that are irritants.
Ooh Bite makes the best lip products! Definitely excited for these!
Yup, interested.
… Pinewood resin? :/
I hate the smell of pine sap. Like… a lot. I hope these don’t have any tinge of that, because that red one otherwise sounds quite appealing.
I agree, pinewood resin does NOT sound like an appealing ingredient in a lip product! Or any cosmetic for that matter!
Oh I NEED that red! I’ve been hunting for the perfect red stain since I used up my favorite from Origins 10 years ago.
I’m excited to swatch these. Don’t know if I’d purchase, since I definitely don’t need any new lipsticks and I’ve been on a more glossy/balmy subtle kick lately. I’m curious about the pinewood resin. That seems like a strange ingredient for a cosmetic. I would be turned off by a piney aroma.
I looooove stains. Not sure those colors would be my first choice, since I tend to go for either darker or more natural, but stains are great and pine resin actually sounds appealing to me. Pine is something I really like.
Me too.
Oh boy…there goes my cash
If they live up to anything like their promise, these lippies will be great to use if you suffer from chapped lips. The colours are popular choices too.
i’m very intrigued by these! i love bite’s lipstick formula so it’d be so great to have it in a lip stain form. i’m also a sucker for slimline lipsticks, don’t know why :^)
I’m already having a hard time narrowing down the 18 lip products in my Sephora cart for the upcoming sale…and now I want all three of these. I love satin matte finishes. I don’t know if I should hope these review really well or really poorly to save my pocketbook.
This is everything I always want in a lipstick, and every brand has disappointed so far. But BITE has never let me down before, so I’m psyched! Plus, I know 3 colors is limited, but since it’s for a lipstick and not foundation/powder, I’m okay with it, and I’m sure they’ll expand if it does well.
I wish we had more than THREE color choices!
A balm-like, satin matte color that stains lips? Seriously … I think this is the product I’ve been asking for all along. How many times have I come in here and complained that, while I love the *idea* of balm-like products, they’re always disappointingly glossy? If this is even somewhat like I’m hoping, it will definitely break my new-makeup apathy (at least for this one product).
I’m so not a fan of anything matte for lips but if these are long-wearing and as “luxe balm” as claimed, I might give one a try.
Hopefully they aren’t too in your face (sounds like they will be, but maybe if blotted on vs swiped that will help?)… because I am really wanting a lip stain that is a good MLBB that doesn’t settle in my lines or taste weird. I’m really excited about these.
Ooh, this sumptuous promo pic!! I look forward to the review.
I’m definitely interested, although I wish their promo pics included some models wearing them so we could get a better idea of how the colors would look on different skin tones. Or any skin tones, really.
Check out Bite Website, they have lip swatches for the 3 shades on 3 different skintones
Thank you Mina! I hope those lip swatches are true to life, they look gorgeous.
So, how is pine resin used by the actual pine? it’s not tapped, like maple syrup. When the pine gets a wound, it exudes resin that helps it heal, has antimicrobial and anti fungal properties. Unlike Nicole, who clearly has chemical knowledge, (and I wish lived in my brain…) I had to look it up. I doubt that the scent is pine. Black pine is used by Korres for a whole skincare line. All I know is that the pollen bothers me, but extracts do not. Prob will at east swatch the red one.
I love Bite lip products and the slim line is appealing as they don’t take up quite as much room in my purse. Having said that, I will have to weight the cost to volume to determine whether they are actually worth $24. The colours are pretty although not compelling. I am sure this particular release is about the finish/hydration and wear time versus the colour and I am sure they will release more colours if the product lives up to it’s claims. All in all, I would like to swatch them.
