Chanel’s new cream blushes. Super impressive, didn’t think they’d wow me as much as they did.
Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
Josie Maran Argan Oil OmG is amazing. O love it. My face look so fresh and clean.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. LOVE!!
Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+. So good for my skin!
Kate Somerville Sun Serum – so lightweight and undetectable on the face, plus it doubles as a primer! It’s been amazing for summer! 🙂
The Armani Sheers! I am in love with #11 and #9.
Mine is a Fluid Sheer too! It took me a while to cave but I’m glad I did. #6 has become my summer staple. I apply it as a wash on my lids and as blush and it gives my skin a beautiful healthy glow (plus it highlights my cheekbones at the same time!)
Chanel Rouge Coco Camelia, I still can´t believe how amazing this product is, it gives light to my face, it´s the only lipstick I use without a lip liner it is so incredible it doesn´t need one. I have gotten so many compliments for this lipstick and that rarely happens it is impressive. It is great for light complexions and it gives a gorgeous pink rose healthy look, with a hint of peach in it, love it.
L’Oreal Lineur Intense Eyeliner! After being recommended it by a friend, it quickly became an HG product for me, even beating out non-drugstore liquid eyeliners!
Dior Addict Lip Glow. This was the first tinted lip balm / lipstick I bought that I was wholly in love with — and it felt so nice putting it on the first time (and every time afterwards). Would I buy it again? I’d like to, but the price does deter me a bit.
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks, I have 3 now and they are great. I’m slowly buying them up 🙂
Maybelline BB Stick 🙂 best for daily use..
Urban Decay’s Glinda palette – the colours are so ethereal and pretty!
Giorgio Armani new ETK eyeshadows, Scarabeo Edition from their Kaleidoscope Collection. Their iridescent quality is to die for, I was not expecting I would be head over heels for these but now I wear them almost every day!
Chanel les beiges retracable kabuki.. I dont have words to describe how soft the brush is and how well it applies the powder.
YSL Pink in Paris Rouge Volupte Shine! It’s my everyday bright pink!
Some eyeshadow samples from Femme Fatale Cosmetics. Holy shiny multichrome, Batman! I’m already planning my next purchase.
Guerlain Terra Ora Sculpting Powder and Contrast Highlighter. I used it as a blush last Saturday, and didn’t quite expect that it would look divine. 🙂
Nars Gina and Nars Dragon Girl – both by your recommendation Christine! Thanks! I didn’t expect Gina to suit me, but it’s my everyday blush now, and the staying power of Dragon Girl is incredible, and I have a problem getting lipsticks to last for me.
Benefit’s the Bronze of Champions face kit. It has almost everything you need for a short vacay (throw in some primer, foundation, concealer, brow stuff, and maybe another lip product).
The last product I bought and loved is almost always my most recent purchase so in this case, it would be the Stila In the Light palette. If this question had come up last month, it would have been UD Snare or maybe Tarte’s Aqualillies palette. You get the picture…
oops – not “In the Light” – it’s the “In the Garden” palette! You’d think I’d remember the name, seeing as I really do love it.
Guerlain Terra Ora! I love how it adds a subtle glow to my face and body (but can be built up to more intensity), and using the colors for eyeshadow is super fun as well.
Kardashian Beauty mascara. Don’t judge me people! I bought two different ones (they have like four kinds) after a friend raved about them and they are truly fabulous. I’m a lip girl and like a “bare” eye look, so I’m always trying new mascaras. The ones I have are called “Quickie” and “Whip Lash”.
where can you buy these?
I got mine at Ulta.
Definitely my new Dior palettes, Bonne Etoile and Constellation. I fell in love with them long before I bought them, when I saw the press release. Then when some of the bloggers started posting swatches and reviews, I knew they had to be mine :). But I feel so silly about them though, because I haven’t even touched them yet, I can’t bear to ruin the star patterns… not yet, at least :). I’ll enjoy them in their pristine state for a little longer :D.
Chanel cream blush in the shade Fantastic. My Nars cream blush has been neglected the last two weeks. I’m using my Nordstrom bucks today to purchase another one since this shade is LE.
A couple of drug store items surprised me: Nip + Fab’s Glycolic Fix pads seem to help control my breakouts, and Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti (so cheap, moisturizing and fun colours!)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Stash – the color is gorgeous and really enhances my brown eyes, I got so many compliments the first time I wore it! Plus the pencil is so creamy and easy to use, the color payoff is great, and it lasts better than any other pencil I’ve tried. This is my second 24/7 liner, I already have Perversion, and there are so many others I want. I can feel an addiction coming on!
PS I tried these pencils in large part based on your reviews, Christine, so thank you!
My pleasure! 🙂
Tarte’s Amazonian Clay eyeshadow in shimmering moss. Super blendable formula, beautiful antique gold/olive color. Christine, I too have a thing for these type of colors, and I’m telling you, this I the olive color I have been searching for all my life!
Sephora lip stain in Strawberry Kissed! It is bold and matte–which I love for the summer.
The Sephora Cream Lip Stains are incredible and so underrated!
Dior’s Healthy Tan Enhancing bronzer in Cinnamon. Its a beautiful natural shade that goes on pretty much matte, but with a glow to it so it doesn’t look flat at all. It also comes with a great baby buki brush that I actually use (!). It also feels like a luxary because of the beautiful silver mirrored compact compact with a heavy solid feel to it. It something I would save even after the product is gone. I love the velvet pouch to keep it from getting scratched and the baby buki even has it’s own velvet pouch to keep the brush’s shape! I just love everything about it and I feel like it was definitely money well spent..
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream! I got a sample in my Birchbox and was totally blown away; I bought the full size right away. I’d never found a moisturizer that balanced my super-sensitive, combination skin perfectly without causing breakouts before I tried this. Even after just a week of use, I noticed a huge difference in my skin being less oily overall and much smoother and softer. And it’s not too heavy for summer! I love it!
MUA’s Power Pout! Prettiest lip gloss ever. ♥
Real Techniques expert face brush. This is the best foundation brush I have ever used. I simply love it.
Ditto; I actually bought a second one, and I have more brushes than I need, LOL! It literally does *everything*, so I like the idea of having one for cream/liquid, and one for powder. I plan to pick up a couple more at some point, too…
I’ve bought a bunch of real techniques brushes and like them a lot. Haven’t gotten that one though, mostly because I shelled out for the hourglass brush and want to convince myself it was worth it 🙂 But I hear such great things about this one!
I did the same thing! But I gave in and finally got the expert face brush. I’ve used it more than the hourglass. Oops.
Lorac’s POREfection Baked perfecting powder. I’ve been using this for about 9 months or so now and it is a holy grail item for me. I mostly use it as a powder foundation, but if want to look flawless I’ll use it to set a liquid foundation. I can’t recommend it enough!
Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Fairytale. This is the first eyeliner I have found that I can line my waterline with and it won’t cloud my contacts. It stays put on my waterline for a few hours too….a miracle. The color makes my eyes pop! I am in love with this liner.
I’ve been on a huge, financially inadvisable but majorly fun makeup buying kick lately, so I can’t see how I can pick just one. I have about a million! But I will say that my Tarte amazonian clay bb tinted moisturizer is performing like a rock star. And my MAC impassioned lipstick is just gorgeous, even though it dries my lips out a bit.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu! It’s such a fun, summery colour and it lasts forever on me. And makes everyone stare at my lips 😉
haha your comment made me smile! I love wearing bright lippies because everyone will stare at my lips.
Illamasqua pure pigment in Furore – amazing! It’s so versatile, I started using it for eyeshadow but it looks great to highlight cheeks/brow bone. I’m bought so many of their other pure pigments since then but that one has to be my favourite
MAC’s Prep+Prime highlighter in Radiant Rose. It makes such a difference to my dark under eye circles all the while looking like skin.
A small budget eyeshadow palette from “Réserve Naturelle”, a French brand. 14,90 € and a lot of interesting eyeshadows.
Benefit Watt’s Up! I love this highlighter!
Yeah, it’s great. I got a little sample of it for the Sephora birthday gift, and I wasn’t expecting to like it better than high beam, but I find myself reaching for Watt’s Up more often. It’s easier to apply and looks more natural.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise
Yes! I’ve been loving that blush also!
Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzing Powder in Matte Light: This is the best for my fair skin. It looks so natural. It’s great for contouring. I wish they made this permanent. It was inexpensive. I’ve been using it every day since I got it.
I hadn’t bought much lately but I really, really love Outrageously Fun (MAC lipstick). Wonderful texture and a great hot pink without being too bright. I wish it hadn’t sold out so I could stock up.
Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base = I am in love with my eyeshadow (even in the summertime)!!
I’m loving Chanel’s powder blush in Frivole at the moment! I can’t get enough of the corally shade with a hint of gold shimmer. It doesn’t seem to emphasize pores at all, and lasts all day! I’m super impressed by the pigmentation I can get from it, I’m a major blush lover. Definitely gotta get my hands on a Chanel cream blush now! They seem amazing!
Lip balm by Savannah Bee, in Earl Gray.
It’s a beeswax lip balm that is softer than Burt’s Bees, probably because it has coconut oil and olive oil in the formula. It’s a LOT like the Fresh Sugar lip balm, but not quite as soft. The Earl Grey is is mostly bergamot scented (citrusy) with a hint of tea.
Not to sound like an advertisement, but I am totally devoted to this stuff. I’m about to order more from the website. You can get a pack of three tubes for $10, which is INSANE considering the quality. I just can’t decide whether to get three of the same flavor or whether to get the combo pack.
Christine, I imagine it wouldn’t sway you away from Jack Black because they’re different types of lip balm. If you like Jack Black better than Fresh Sugar, then you won’t find Savannah Bee to be especially mind blowing, but it still might be worth checking out for the blog.
Yeah, Fresh doesn’t give me any real long-term hydration – it’s nice while worn, but I have to keep reapplying. I could skip a couple days of Jack Black and my lips are still in great shape!
Mally Evercolor Shadow Sticks…omg…gorgeous & waterproof & the easiest thing to apply EVER. The only drawback is that they’re $25 a pop. Though, anyone that knows me, knows I don’t pay retail. I got the first one free and then I was hooked so I got some others from the Mally site for $17ish each during a sale. I absolutely recommend them to anybody who’s willing to spend the cash or find a good deal.
Chanel Les Beiges Kabuki brush… just the best brush ever! Super soft, blends everything beautifully and applies powder foundation seamlessly. And I got it on sale, so even better!
korres facial serums all of them! to die for!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light…it makes my skin look airbrushed!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light – the reviews on this didn’t fail me bc it’s fantastic! My new summer look is some mascara, neturogena spf lotion with the powder and voooh lah!
Boring, but RCMA no colour powder. Freaking cheap and it doesn’t change the colour of my foundation whatsoever and it doesn’t dry out my skin nor does it look powdery which is a helluvalot better than the Chantecaille HD setting powder I wasted money on prior.
MUFE Mist & Fix – I’ve been wearing powder foundation lately, and this spray does an excellent job of softening the powdery look of my face if I apply too much. It gives my foundation a lovely satiny, natural look. I spray this once I finish my overall look, and it really does help to lock my look into place all day as well. Before I bought this spray I was using water, but it was drying out my skin. This stuff is great! Once my travel size is gone, I plan to buy the regular-sized bottle.
I just bought the new F-Bomb and Anarchy Lipsticks which I totally adore. I also just got Fyrinnae’s Superstar and Alchemist’s Curse (because of your review, Christine!) and I now want to do a hot pink eye look all the time lol.
Yay!!
Rimmel eyeliner in Taupe. I bought it without reading any reviews, and I am pleasantly surprised at how well it applies and lasts on my lower lash line. It is the perfect liner shade for a fair skinned lady who wants subtle definition.
MAC’s new Skinfinish Mineralize liquid foundation is a close second. Set with Guerlain’s Pressed Meteorites in Mythic, it gives me the perefct summer glow!
Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze Ritual!! It is an amazing bronzer, makes me look like I have sharp cheekbones, is not “orangey” at all! It took me one month and visits to many, many sephoras and nordstroms to track one down 🙂
Urban decay lush mascara. One of my top mascara picks!
Laura Mercier Spellbound highlighter. I’m NC 30/35. Love it!
Almay Smart Shade Mousse Makeup
Cargo Blu Ray High Def Pressed Powder. It works as a mattifying powder, setting powder, and a powder with a bit more coverage for acne. It’s awesome for blotting too.
YSL Blush Radiance #4. (I’m NC10).
Tarina Tarantino eyeliner in spark of envy.
YSL Rouge volupe shine # 14 coral in touch and #19 fushcia in rage
Beautiful colors, moisturizing and smells amazing.
I have to comment on the new website, can’t believe how clear the colors are. The last product I bought was the Cover Girl Eye Rehab concealer and serum. I just love the feel of it…although, the color I bought is light pale, it’s the best I could do.
I’m really loving Lime Crime’s new lipstick, Babette. It made me remember how much I love the brand actually, and now I’ve got Airborne Unicorn and a Red Velvet velvetine on the way as well 😛
Another product I recently got that I love is Illamasqua’s speckled polish in Fragile. It’s so unique and it’s the only polish that doesn’t chip on my for days. It’s pricey, but I’m starting to see the value in splurging on a select few Illamasqua polishes.
After all is said and done, the one item I consistently turn to for versatile eye shadow colors is my LORAC Pro Palette. And it probably has the fewest “this would be better if …” scenarios in my collection, so I guess this is my latest true love. It was not what immediately came to mind, nor the second or third item that came to mind – but this is definitely one of the items I would grab it if the building were on fire. – I do want to try those Chanel blushes though – I was surprised I didn’t chose a blush as the latest purchase I love – blush is usually my makeup favorite and probably the only item I “truly” collect.
I’ve been using the Philosophy Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel for a couple of weeks now – I’ve tried a lot of skin care products, and I must say that it’s one of the best I’ve tried. My skin looks so much better than it used to; my skin tone is more even and a lot more vibrant, thanks to the combination of phytic, mandelic, and azelaic acids. It’s one of the few at-home peels I’ve tried that hasn’t left my skin irritated. Definitely a must-have.
Rimmel Show off glosses! absolutely loving them!
Surprisingly to me is how much I love maybelline shocking coral. I don’t usually go for drugstore lipstick but this I love.
Might sound a bit strange, but the last thing I was really impressed with was MAC’s brow set in Beguile. I mean, obviously there have been quite a few products in my not-short-at-all-life that I was delighted about (too many to mention), but this one comes to mind as one of the last ones. Fills in my eyebrows, adds color and tames them like nobody’s business. All I need for my brows at the moment.
The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer. Am I slow because only up until like 2 weeks ago did I realize it was supposed to say luminizer. I felt dumb hahaha
I bought the Guerlain Mythic powder refill and popped it into an empty Stila compact. It is beautiful. So nice to take a break in the middle of my work day and powder my nose with this wonderful powder! Thanks, Christine, for reviewing it!
Ooh, great to hear it fits in Stila’s compact!
