I have extremely oily skin. To be honest, I’ve never really used moisturizers because they’re all so heavy on my skin. I do have occasional acne flare ups, but mostly just battle oil and large pores. I’m getting older (will be 33 next month) and want to incorporate facial lotions into my skincare routine. Right now, I wear light makeup during the day, wash my face after work and in the mornings with oil-free cleansers, use occasional clay masks and exfoliating scrubs, and apply retinol serums nightly around my fine line areas. I recently splurged and bought Kate Somerville’s Acne Bac Lotion and it is amazing! It makes my skin feel mattified but not stripped. I haven’t used it long enough to speak to how well it keeps blemishes at bay, but I’m really impressed with how it makes my skin feel.

ColourPop’s Ultra Glossy Lips – I like the formula, the coverage and the finish(es).

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation – love the coverage (somehow it covers but it doesn’t look like I have anything on my skin), love the color match, love the finish and it wears consistently all day long.

BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer

I was debating a long time to buy it. The review was good on Beautypedia, but while researching other reviews I did not see a hype around it. I needed a more hydrating concealer (I have a dry skin phase), but I also need coverage for my dark undereyes. Surprisingly, this one has a good coverage, but it’s still hydrating, luminous and does not crease.

Skincare and Bodycare: RMS face oil. In Fiore body Balm. Face oil is my new love. Brighten my face in a month of using it. Read the reviews at Beautylish. It has replaced my La Mer. The body balm smell so yummy. It is delicious on my skin,

Also bought, African Botanics face oil, $250..was a splurge and smell so fine. Just get the RMS face oil…much cheaper and so worth it.

That would also be my pick! Love the color range. Love the mix of finishes. Highly pigmented and blends like a dream. And yes, so versatile. You can create so many looks. Plus the colors when blended don’t get muddy. I resisted buying but gave in when I had a $20 off coupon from Sephora. Boy I was missing out. Definitely one of my favorite discoveries of 2016!

I was an inch away from buying the Tom Ford cream eyeshadow in platinum when I learned about the Elf Crusin’Chic being a dupe. Even better is I already had it in my stash… What a fantastic product!

Hi Karen!

Same here! I was just about to pull the lever when I chanced upon a member’s comment on the Elf being such a close dupe. And it is. Know what I did? (LoL!) I was going into the city so I brought the Elf pot with me. Swatched it, and then swatched the TF Platinum. Left happily with the Elf and haven’t looked back. 🙂

Tarte Maracuja Oil. I absolutely love it. If I was stranded on a desert island with only one thing from my stash, this is what I would want. I have such dry skin, and this has just changed everything for me.

Hello Lulle:) I’ve had my eyes on those pencils but haven’t bought one yet. I love soft, creamy eyeliner that glides on. Neither my Ulta or Sephora carry them in store to swatch. Are they as smooth as they look?

Some time ago. I was really impressed by the new urban decay comfort matte and cream lipsticks. They go on sooo smooth, last long, are comfortable to wear, smell good and have so many beautiful colours.

The PCH Dual Ultrasonic Infuser. It is a sonic infuser with both a hot and cold setting to help make the skin serums you already use get deeper into your skin to work more effectively. First, I was my face and then apply my special serum. Then I help it get deeper into my skin with the hot setting and the sonic vibration mode together. Finally, I close up my pores by turining on the cold setting. All this takes about five minutes. I love it.

Kvd alchemist palette was not on my radar at all.i thought it would only compliment lighter skin tones. Plus it it was always sold out online, so I just sort of dismissed it. Then I stumbled across it in store and swatched it in person and oh boy is it lovely on my dark skin.

I also enjoy the UD after dark palette. I was a bit skeptical after that terrible moondust palette. I find this works really well with kvd matte/metal palette.

And the Star Trek trip the light fantastic powders are wonderful. I use them almost daily.

Paula’s choice Radiance kit. Too greasy to wear during the day but it makes you glow. Makeup would be Max Mineralized skinfinish soft and gentle ( my only highlighter) or Quicktrick which I use for contouring.

i picked up nyx’s away we glow liquid highlighter in state of flux as well as their duochromatic illuminating powder in lavender steel yesterday at target & am so impressed with both .

the liquid highlighter reminds me so much of becca’s shimmering skin perfector trios , but more pigmented ! it’s really smooth, blends easily and doesn’t have glitter . i plan on picking up moonbeam because it looks like it could be a dupe for opal .

lavender steel is an awesome highlighter w. a strong pinky purple shift . it’s a great affordable option for those who want to try duochrome highlighters w/o having to buy a full palette .

LipSense lip color. I have not worn anything on my lips but LipSense in over two months. I have over 100 lipsticks I am going to have to decide what to do with. Looking at them going unused has made me realize what a lipstick issue I have. Lol

I was astounded to find the e.l.f. Cosmetics Studio Flawless Finish Foundation SPF 15 is a perfect match to my fair, neutral to warm based skin. Not only is it a perfect match but it gives medium coverage and wears beautifully on my very dry, aging skin. And it’s super cheap!

Definitely the Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able foundation! It feels so lightweight and yet it covers really well. It has such a lovely finish too! I have it in shade 10 Ivory Light. The colour isn’t too bad but I add the tiniest amount of white to it to make it perfect. Overall it’s just the kind of foundation I like to wear on a daily basis for work etc. ?

I’m also in love with the Kat Von D Lock-It foundation in Light 41. The colour couldn’t be any better and the coverage is amazing. You only need a tiny amount. I have very dehydrated skin due to meds I take so it’s essential for me to use a decent moisturiser and hydrating and/or smoothing primer to get the best finish but it is worth it. Not having to tweak the foundation is something I’ve come to appreciate since I’m so used to mixing my foundations with white and/or correctors!

The Balm’s Matte Trimony palette! Very pigmented with deep rich colors and not as powdery or chalky as the Meet Matte palette. I was pleasantly surprised!

Mally eye shadow sticks. They are awesome. Finish my eyes in a flash, one sweep vs multiple applications of powder shadows. Will never go back to powder.

I just discovered Makeup Atelier (MUA) eyeshadows and they blew my mind, especially the mattes. I erupted in spontaneous joy giggles as I swatched them out of sheer delight and surprise.
Before that was Tarte Shape Tape. I have to mention it because I may have inadvertently traumatized some of the other longstanding readers by “The Spider that Bit My FACE While I was SLEEPING ” incident and my subsequent search for a concealer. I still use Kevyn Aucoin SSE because that was the suggestion that really got me through the worst of it but I don’t always have time to mess with thinning it out. I had to make time before Tarte’s Shape Tape. Knock me over with a feather that stuff is hardcore enough to get the job done when I’m in a hurry! I use it before then after foundation in that one spot but still…impressive.

Probably Hourglass ambient lighting powders. I got so tired of the gimmicky sets and eye palettes and splurged for a couple of these that I reach for all of the time and now want all of them, but one.

I have several for 2016. IT Cosmetics CC cream and bye bye pores loose powder. Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils and orgasm blush. There are very good reasons these products are so loved by so many. Lastly, KVD Metal Matte blew me away with how incredibly wearable the palette is.

Clinique x Crayola chubby sticks, they aren’t statement lip products, but it’s just very pretty makeup. And that is what makeup is supposed to do, make u look pretty, right?

Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance/No.01. I didn’t buy it perse as it was in my limited edition Wendy Rowe glossybox. I had been thinking of buying becca backlight, but this is pretty similar. I was worried it wouldn’t work for me as I have pretty oily skin, but it’s amazing! It really lifts my complexion!
